This new facility certainly bring life to area. Including the recreation center, it has brings class like Zumba class and line dancing. Other sporting time including open court basketball, badminton, pickle ball. Please check their website for activities. The recreation center use for sport is free. It is paid and funded by county tax. This is a $2.3 millions facility include the large gymnasium, recreation room include multipurpose room, kitchen, art and craft room, exercise room, computer lab and game room. It is well organized facilities that have many interests. I would said go check them out since this is your tax money for the benefit of the people.

Always a five star experience…read more There is so much parking and depending on what you want to do you can park close to where you want to be. We always park close to the main playground and start there. It's actually a giant circle when you think about it, so we start at that playground then we move on to where there's the owl playground and the spinning carousels. Then we continue onwards to the treehouse, from the treehouse we go to where there's the main building where they had shaved ice and you can get food if you want then it's an easy walk back to the car. We always bring the kids scooters because the walk is a little far for them, they are five and seven. I did learn this time around that if you are older like my in-laws this park may be a little too spaced out, especially when it's hot outside. However, there is a tram that will bring you from place to place so we did end up taking the tram from the main building back to where we parked. We spent about an hour racing around just giant park. There is a lot of shade, but also you do need sunscreen. It is a majority outside and everyone knows how hot Florida gets. I think it is brilliant that at the main building they have shaved ice. Also, at the treehouse they sell drinks, a water bottle was three dollars, which was actually pretty reasonable so I got the kids water. Even though it's hot in Florida I really like the kids spending time outside so this is a fantastic place to spend a couple hours. I'm sure we could spend even more time here if we ever decide to check out rooftop bar or the food place, but for now we've only experienced the multitude of playgrounds. It never feels crazy, busy, but that's probably because it is so spread out that families can be all over this huge park.

The parking was plentiful for the area that this event was held. The ceremony was outside and it was beautiful, sunny day for it. After the ceremony, we got two hours to roam around that part of the park and it was beautiful. A lot of places to walk around and nice photo opps. The outside area where the ceremony was transitioned to an area to play some lawn games until we waited for the reception. The reception area was also big and beautiful with how they decorated it. A beautiful spot for a wedding. I would love to explore this park again if I was ever in Lakeland.

It's a very nice park and gated at the front with three different sections. One for 2-5year olds and the bigger one being for kids 5 to 12 but there are a lot of openings at the top so just be careful. The had swings and a spin around net thing. Also, it is shaded, but only at the right time of the day. I didn't see any bathrooms, but I also wasn't looking for them probably can use the ones at the rec center, overall it is a really nice park. We played for a good hour and will be back.

We visited Highlander Park in Dunedin for the Kiwanis Sprayground which is a fun Splash Pad Water…read morePark Area for kids. The capacity of Kiwanis Sprayground is 90 kids and kids under 3 must wear waterproof diapers to prevent unwanted accidents. The water park has staff that monitors the grounds for kids accidents and the staff is pretty prompt about temporarily closing the whole Waterpark down and cleaning up kids accidents, which is nice. The Water park features a dragon, a gator, flowers, a pirate ship slide, hoops, a mushroom waterfall, and a dolphin with water everywhere! Next we visited Highlander's Aquatic Center Pool with 2 slides that the kids loved. The pool was clean, had a lifeguard, and had friendly staff! The aquatic center has swimming classes and after school kids babysitting programs. Highlander Park's Kids playground is officially designed for kids 5-12, has 4 slides, a fish theme, a rock climbing wall, and swings. The kids playground is not covered from the sun is about medium in size. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here just for the playground but it's a nice addition to complement everything else kids can do at this park. Highlander Park occupies a whopping 70 acres and is Dunedin's second largest park. Highlander Park has a multi-use recreation area featuring the Dunedin Community Center, the Fine Art Center, 3 playgrounds, picnic tables, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, sand volleyball, baseball little league fields. Highlander park hosts many community events here including the annual Dunedin Celtic Festival which I had the pleasure of attending many moons ago. If you're in Westchase, Oldsmar, Dunedin, or Clearwater, I highly recommend making a short drive to Dunedin's Highlander Park to give your kids hours of fun!

The director came out and told everyone to move because it was a fire hazard which is understandable. She also mentioned that the pool was still open which is a lie because they legally can't be open if there is lightning within a 10 mile radius. Nobody moved so she called the police for assistance... again, understandable. Meanwhile, she had her staff in the pool with Lightning 3 miles away. By law, pools have to close if Lightning is within a 10 mile radius. This would be a form of negligence if anyone was struck and can result in prison time. This happened around 10:30AM on 9/27/25.

This is a nice community park featuring lap pool, walking trail, dog park, and a playground area…read moreand workout area in back behind the pool. The playground area has some lovely old oak trees. Arlington has some great activities for small children on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In 2022 they also did a great Halloween trail and events including pumpkins in the pool and a Bark-o-Ween dog friendly event. There is good variety of trees and plants along the trail. The park borders a residential area and houses. There is a gym and updated bathrooms. There is a large stand of invasive Brazilian Pepper that needs removing from the park. More native plantings and no mow areas would be welcome. But overall this is a great park with a lot to offer for swimmers, walkers, dogs, children, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
