Dr. Brandon Sorenson is an excellent pain and spine management Doctor. He has a his wonderful assistant Diana along with nurse Brooke, who is so sweet and kind. As for his NP Jennifer Nelson who was the best, but she is no longer there. There are some receptionist & NP who work there and do not honor or represent Dr. Sorenson's practice so be aware please and report it to Dr. Sorenson or Diana if one of these receptionist or NP mess up, by communication & lack of empathy or not being attentive to your concerns. This rx for pain management was never misappropriated by me in that time frame. My office experience was great w/the PAs and office staff for the first few yrs. Their staff would have me see a PA ea req'd visit with an appt w/Sorenson every 3rd visit. Since their move to this new office, I was only sched w/PA's. Michelle at front desk stated appts w/Dr. Sorenson are no longer available to established pts as he only sees new pts & only does procedures now; so I can no longer comment on experience w/Sorenson as Michelle at front desk will no longer refer established pts to Sorenson. I was recently dx'd w/a third form of arthritis and have been w/o my pain rx for over 2 yrs and the only solutions PA's/front would give was intentional misinformation I researched and found to be utterly false. This clinic specializes in pain management and is not managing pain or giving pts any other options. I feel bad that an amazing dr is getting negative reviews due to the intentional misinformation (lies) by angry staff and he's not aware of how his established pts are being treated. I have been a Patient at Pacific Pain and Spine since 2013 and have had very good results until the last few months. Brandon is a great Doctor, but his Front Counter Lady is not very good at her job. I just went in for an appoint to have a Shoulder Injection with my appointment card in hand. I was advised I didn't have an appointment even though I was called last Friday to remind me of my appointment. She tried to tell me my appointment wasn't until 11-20. I used to be able to see Brandon for my Bi-Monthly appointments, now he only performs procedures. It appears to me that the Front Counter Lady is a big issue there. I have no way to talk to Brandon, maybe someone will show him this review. read more

Today I went in for a cortisone injection in my back .. I waited over an hour to finally get seen. I had to go asked them what's going on ? The lady at the front desk is so damn rude! No smile , no answer , no sorry we're running late ! 10 mins later I get pulled back to a room and waited another 30 mins . I finally went out again and asked another person how much longer ! She said they were behind but she was sorry. She was much nicer. I was finally pulled in for my procedure and Sr Sorensen apologized for being behind and I told him I understand but, next time can his front office let me know when they are behind and give me the option to reschedule or stay. On the way to check out the young lady at the reception desk was not nice very rude and not even a smile ! Please if you're going to work with people and hate your job please go find another career! I love Dr Sorensen! I've been his patient for years. Unfortunately, this office has a deficient communication system. The main issue is trying to get to Dr Sorensen. When other clinics, in places like UCSF, are implementing messaging systems for patients and providers, this clinic has basically given zero percent chance of reaching the providers. read more

I had Dr. Sorenson give me shots in my back. I have had back pain for many years and had to retire from my job due to injury sustained on the job. This doctor is the first that had relieved my pain. Narcotics never relieve pain, just mask the pain. Dr. Sorenson's injections do the job. I have had injections by others but he is the best! Biggest joke EVER! Constant lying and cover up. Received the wrong epidural ordered by Cedar Sinai. Dr Sorensen said he never saw the original prescription. Blamed it on his PA. I was in excruciating pain for 2 years. He said it wouldn't cause pain. There are thousands of documented cases of bad epidurals. Constant lies..one after another. I have been on pain management for 17 yrs & with Dr Sorensen for 7 yrs in this time I have never had a negative urine test, ever, I was accused of taking codeine & released, no conversation, no discussion your guilty until proven innocent, I work decades in the medical field, I don't always tell my Dr's everything always, I asked their office to send a release to my pharmacy to let my pms cover my meds until I find a new pain doc they have not as of 3/22 when I called to ask them they hung up on me twice I am out of meds now my pain is in unbelievable along with withdrawals I can't even go to ER cause they won't send my release, the possibility of harming myself is paramount, I have nothing bad to say about Dr Sorensen office they are awesome but the unprofessional way it was handle by my PA was shocking, I'm I'm getting a hair folical drug screen which goes back 6 months soon it will be negative I did nothing, sorry I typed in PMD & it said pms lol I would never discourage anyone to not go to this office they are great but I felt everyone should know this could happen to them as it did to me, thank you read more

In April 2021 I made an appointment with Dr. Sorenson. Unfortunately I had to cancel due to three emergency surgeries on my colon. When I called back to reschedule my appointment I was told by Melanie (believe that's her name) in scheduling that they were not taking any new patients. I tried to explain I was just rescheduling my April appointment. I don't care what great reviews they have. I'm 68 years old and in horrible pain. This girl was so incredibly rude, mean and condescending. She talked over me and I have to say I have never been treated with such disrespect. I think Dr. Sorensen is a nice person and I do believe he's a very good doctor. I am a chronic pain patient and I don't think he and his staff are able to meet my needs. I ran into a paperwork problem with his office staff that I did call numerous times to prevent a paperwork bottleneck but I have a feeling my phone calls were ignored. The last straw was when the office manager refused to take responsibility for not having my paperwork done in time for my insurance to cover my prescription meds. The office manager actually denied any responsibility and in fact laughed at me once I started reciting the multiple times I called to follow up. I found that very rude and very unprofessional. Speaking of unprofessional, I asked for the doctor to call and somehow he thinks it's ALL my fault and that I need to come back and apologize to the office manager who dropped the ball literally four times on getting my insurance ironed out. you can bet that's not going to happen! The total at my pharmacy should be around $80 per month for co-pay, right now they want almost $600 because of Dr. Sorensen's staff not doing their job and I am in a tough spot because I'm out of meds. I tried calling Dr. Sorensen and discussing it, but he had already made up his mind that it was my fault after listening to his office manager Who apparently lied about the interaction in order to enhance her side of the situation. It's my opinion that it's simply not wise to base your opinion on what the truth is after only hearing one side of the story. As and employer myself, I always like to get all sides of the situation before I react but that's not how Sorensen runs his business is probably not the best way to handle the situation. He was not interested in what I had to say and in fact was quite discourteous with me on the phone while I was being very calm and professional. So if you are a chronic pain person, like a major accident recovery person, Dr. Sorensen may not be the best choice for you. Also, some members of his office staff are fabulous, others seem to not be as focused on the patient as they should. Just my observations as a guy who's had 27 surgeries over the past 15 years. I am always so relieved and impressed when a medical professional jumps in and responds in an honest and professional manner to a negative yelp review. In this case, it's my opinion that The staff Dr. Sorensen was relying upon was not only doing a bad job but was somehow impressing the doctor that they were doing a great job. I have been Dr. Sorensen's patient for a few years now. It wasn't until recently that I realized that I've been seeing him on a monthly basis for over a year now (when his front office staff had me update my general info. patient form.) Ever since that appointment I've been thinking/reflecting about everything (hurdle) Dr. Sorensen & I have been through. To be honest I do not have the words to express how grateful I am to Dr. Sorensen for my pain management care or rather the "priceless" return to my daily life/routine he's given me. What I find myself being the most grateful for is that I am treated with respect, understanding, professionalism and as a human being not just by him, but by all the medical personnel and office staff at his medical establishment. If you're a chronic pain patient you know what I mean. I've been a chronic pain patient for 22 years now because of a terrible MVA accident I was involved in as a teenager in high school. Looking at things through my eyes (a true chronic pain sufferer/patient) the past 22 years I've come to this conclusion... I have always been very impressed with their service but today I had an appointment at their new location and my navigator sent me to the wrong building. It's a one-way street so I had to go around two blocks before I could get back on Noble to get back to it. There's no sign out in front so I was two minutes past my 15 minute grace period (even though I called well before that). They canceled my appointment anyway. I live half an hour away so it's an hour travel wasted. That policy should not be in force when you have a new location and there's no signage out front. I put my trust in Dr. Sorensen and left my care in his hands. I'm very disappointed in the care I received. I had ongoing issues after having two back surgeries and a fusion. I agreed with his plan of care and tried epidural injections. Injections that have worked for the last two years after surgery. After my pain continued to get much worse he ordered and MRI to check hardware placement in July. I was told I would receive a follow up and would get an appointment once the results came in to go over results/options. I never got a call back and when I called the front staff told me he's very busy and it would be 3+ months. It's not my fault they wouldn't schedule a follow up when I was seen in office. I requested to see anyone for my results and stressed I was getting much worse. The staff told me the soonest I could be seen was the end of February and they have a lot of patients in the same scenario. I have never heard of a doctor having enough reason to order costly imaging but not follow up with results. I took my care into my own hands and had the imaging study sent to my primary doctor, got in to see my provider and have been sent to see a neuro surgeon on an urgent basis. My MRI showed post-op hardware changes and herniation of a new disc and that's why I am in so much pain. I was confident in the care and Dr. Sorensen seemed as if he genuinely cared but I and disappointed my health was jeopardised because of the offices inability to have a better standard of care for their patients. I will no longer being receiving care in this office and feel they truly disregarded my concerns. Overall I am the one that has to suffer because of their inability to adequately care for patients. I would not recommend this office to anyone who truly needs help with legitimate pain. read more

My warning today is for the PA Paul "Ike" Campos. I have never in all of my 42 years been so humiliated and made to feel like such a piece of sh*t as he did to me today. He was only concerned with an "inconsistent" piss test and he had no desire whatsoever to learn about me or my pain issues or what I needed. Awesome dr., takes time to listen to my concerns and works with me to find a plan that works for me. I have found pain specialists in the past are only there to monitor drugs...period. Dr. Sorenson works on finding a solution to the issue and not to just drug you up and mask the pain. I waited for months to get an appointment with Dr. Sorensen only to be scheduled with a very young girl named Elizabeth I think. Who sounded kind of like a trained parrot by here evaluation and the options they have for injections and obviously listened to nothing I said. Like the fact that I have no Insurance an can not afford the injections. Which I might add she had no idea of the cost. When I asked her do you have any idea how much the injections cost ? She said she could go ask for me. The question was Rhetorical I already knew because I have wanted to get them for some time. Not to mention the amount I would need since the pain is so wide spread an moves around from day to day. I was diagnosed Lupus many years ago and suffer from chronic pain like everyone else with Lupus. She said although I see the notes about the Lupus on your medical reports, she proceeded to tell me that the only way she could prescribe me my current pain medication is with a recent report from my Rheumatologist which I might add is a small prescription for Norco. Seriously if I was currently seeing a Rheumatologist why would I go to a pain specialist. So I was getting ready to go out the door she asked me. " Well while your here would you like to go ahead and have the urinalysis done in case you change your mind? " Seriously why what part of I can not afford injections did you not get. I also might add that I also have Arthritis on my upper spine an Calcific tendonitis. An the only reason why I had the doctor refer me here is because of all of the laws now I was afraid I would eventually have to go to a pain specialist anyway. Oh well hopefully it doesn't come to that. Very frustrating. Unless you have insurance don't bother. P.S. I asked her not to to mess with my right arm and shoulder to much while she was doing her examination because of the extreme pain that comes with Calcific Tendonitis when it moved or has pressure on it in certain ways. So she proceeds to grab my should an push on it. It took all I had not to scream out in pain but I couldn't stop the tears because of the pain she caused. The wacky phone system that made me so cranky is gone and has been replaced by a friendly human. I like Dr. Sorensen. I feel he takes time to be sure I understand what he is recommending. I trust him and will continue as his patient. I went on a quest of sorts to learn if surgery would resolve my problems. Both Dr Brandon Sorenson and PA Erika have been very helpful in diagnosing my rare spinal disease and treating me with very conservative care. They always take time to listen and give concern regarding my treatment. They have stayed in contact, when needed, with my Neurosurgeon in Dallas. Office visits are scheduled in emergency situations to accommodate my needs. They remain very careful explaining medication, careful to address concerns I have regarding treatment of specific medication. They carefully monitor levels of medication as this was a huge concern of mine. I feel I am able to trust they are careful in prescribing the lowest levels to affect my illness. Dr S has a magnificent office staff. They are however over burdened with phone calls, which is a wonderful "problem" for any business to have to balance. I recommend Dr S and staff to my friends. I went to this after my doctor of fourteen years retired. I brought my chart which is the size of a bible. Dr claims to be a pain management dr but all he did was judge the amount of pain medicine was taking i keep trying to tell him that my amount has been over a fourteen year span. I've done stimulators my body rejected he wanted me to go for two weeks to rehab i told him i had no one to take care of my children then threw out the pain pump idea sorry i knew a nurse who died from that. I spoke to a neuro surg he stated he would only do a pain pump if the patient was going to die because of the high risk of infection that goes straight to your brain. Of course a dr is going to make more money with a pain pump he gets to charge for the office visit and the medicine. So drug tested me said to come back in ten days so i did that. Then again rehab pain pump is what the visit was about that he didn't feel comfortable treating me that was out of his lines of treatment i offered to taper down my meds i told him my script was going to be gone in ten days. So he said come back in ten days which was the day before I would need a new prescription. He wanted me to see his PA so i did she told me she didn't feel comfortable treating really with an attitude she ask ed about rehab again i told her the same thing i have to be home for my kids i have no extended family. I told her i was willing to taper down she told what she could give me but then i mentioned the bad jerks and cramps i get with the lyrika and i take a five milligram of Valium that was it she was done and told me to find somebody else. So i wasted all that time thinking they would treat me. My opinion is this dr is fresh out of school and wants me to fit into a textbook and i dont. So i guess if u dont have more than a headache this would be the place to go read more

I would like to start off by saying that I normally do not involve myself in any mumbo jumbo on the internet, but after a few days of consideration, I have decided to make a comment (with the help of my grand daughter who is much more in tune with these iPads). I recently read a review posted on this page about Dr. Sorensen (a man who has always been courteous to me and has gone out of his way to alleviate pain that I thought I would be stuck with forever) and his staff at Pacific Spine and Pain Center. I would not be writing this if I had not been present the day that this said occurrence took place, and witnessed with my own eyes and ears, what took place between this man and (who I believe to be) Dr. Sorensen's manager. I have never seen a grown man be more disrespectful in my life. My husband, a retired Chief of Police, would never even speak to a criminal the way that this man was speaking to her. She continued to apologize for him being upset, and he continued to berate her. It was an extremely uncomfortable situation for those of us patients that were in the lobby. I believe we all wanted to help the poor gal out, but she did a great job at maintaining her composure and trying to deescalate the situation. Even if the man had a legitimate reason to be upset, the way he presented himself was absolutely inappropriate. I will not embarrass the fellow, but I do want to mention that the medications he "ran out of and desperately needed," were in no way related to "chronic pain" as he has stated below.
