Sharon, the Office Manager, could run an international corporation. She gets the job done. she's the stern mother when a patient needs to be reminded. Kristin, the receptionist, cares about her people. They are not just names with a time npextvto them. They are people and she cares about them all. When she left, Tracy filled the huge void--masterfully. It was like she had always been there-seamless transition from one to another; different people but both concerned about the welfare of the flock. I'll miss them all but mostly Dr. O, who took my pain and what it was doing to my life as a personal challenge. The doctor seems like he's awesome. The problem is Sharon. A few of the men have had good experiences with her, so maybe she has a problem with women? She has come across harsh, uncaring, and cruel unnecessarily. Instead of being kind and empathetic to those suffering in chronic pain, she was brash unforgiving And unwilling to adapt. She is literally the obstacle to my life being better and less painful, but ego and selfishness shined above it all. I am so sad and disappointed by how cool Health Care professional has been. So I don't know how some people have had good experiences with her unless she was having a bad day and did not know how to apologize. Or maybe she's Picky about who she's kind to? I don't know. Given the nature of the discipline, so much of pain treatment depends on the empathy of the clinician handling one's care. I'm there due to my back hurting again. I had surgery back in 17. It held for a bit but now I'm looking for someone to help. Sharon's in the office is truly wonderful. Treats people with respect, I have never been to another doctor's office close to how good they treat and care about their patients. Dr is over all the most caring and genuine doctor I've ever had a pleasure of having. He listen to you. Which is hard to find. He takes his time with you, he will go over many plans and see what you and himself think the best for your course of actions. I trust the doctor 100% first time ever in 14 years of pain. Last thing the front desk especially Sharon help me before I was her patient. She stayed in the phone not trying to get my business. But because she wanted to help. Dr. O'Laughlin is an extraordinary physician. He is thorough in gathering information about your problem, symptoms, and history. He is engaged as he asks you questions about these areas. He explains why he orders various lab and diagnostic tests. He tells you what his tentative diagnosis is, and what he plans to do to confirm it. All the while he is doing this, he educates you about how your body or nervous system works, and about pain. He talks with you about your diagnosis and what the treatment plan will be. He goes over the office procedures, rules and the contract regarding receiving pain medications, which includes random testing. When I came out of my first appointment, it was clear how much Dr. O'Laughlin cares about his patients, how knowledgeable he is, and how committed he is to providing excellent care. You receive his full attention as if you are his only patient. I have been a patient for five years. During that time, Dr. O'Laughlin's thoroughness, concern for me as a patient, and commitment to treating my pain, has been exemplary. If you are a patient who expects to be seen within a few minutes of your appointment time and to be out of the office within 30 minutes, then this practice will not be a good match for you. I generally schedule 2-2 1/2 hours from the time I walk into the office until I walk out. If you can accept this time constraint, then I expect that you will find Dr. O'Laughlin to be a superior physician who has an inquisitive mind, is excited by medicine and has a great bedside manner. read more
