Just saw Mel Brooks "the Producers". First was the dinner. It has been a long time that we were somewhere that our server was also in the play and seemed so genuinely glad we were there. Food was surprisingly good. Served hot and well cooked for all of the offerings. Service was fun every time someone came to the table. Oh by the way there is an excellent bar with a bar tender that certainly has earned his stripes. Now the Show. This has always been one of my favorites, a go to for on demand. Being in this theatre, watching these talented actors made the time go by so fast we wanted more. I found myself leaning in to the dancing and singing and it was spectacular. The sets, the props, the costumes, the lighting, the sound, and being able to just plain enjoy made the night. They have special one night performances as well. These show are such a fantastic value. By the way seating is one of the things I really liked. We were seated with 4 other people that we left as our new friends.

Saw the Delaware Shakespeare Festival's "A Comedy of Errors" last week outdoors at Rockwood Park,…read moreon the lawn in front of the manor building. It was a marvelous performance of a fun play. The stage is relatively long and narrow, with lawn seating on both sides. (Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs). The cast was excellent, with high energy. The sound quality was good, which can sometimes be tricky for outdoor shows. This play is not one of Shakespeare's longest, so you get out at a decent hour. Arriving early means you'll have more choice in where you sit. Also, there are fun performances on stage before the actual play. You can bring food, beverages, etc and have a picnic dinner before the show. Bring bug spray. They sell soft drinks, beer & wine, food, and some dessert times, as well as t-shirts, etc.

I went…read moreto college at University of Delaware so I did come to this movie theater location a little more often when I was younger, and it's kept its local college town charm while moving up to modern times. I went to a mid-day movie time during the work week so it was not crowded at all. I decided not to buy my tickets until I arrived due to the service fee of $3 and knowing I didn't have to worry about it getting sold out or not having seats that I would like. That's the number one change here that I appreciate and that's the selection of the seat. The main reason I cannot give this theater 5 stars is because while the seats function well the "leather" is severely damaged (at least they were in #5 theater). I also prefer the stadium seating though the recline of the seats do help to limit the seats in front of your row being in view. The bathroom was pretty clean and immediately after the show ended the staff was cleaning; not much since was only 4 people in my movie showing. Overall a good local theater that provides everything one would expect.

We love the theater and are big fans!…read moreIt's much easier driving into West Chester than Philadelphia, the parking is cheap/free, and the neighborhood is safe. Everyone at the theater is so welcoming, and we walked in without a wait or any lines for the restrooms. So, what was the problem? Some audience members were out of control and/or intoxicated. Thankfully, we were on the second level, but right in front of us on the first level, we witnessed two fights. One started when one of the audience members who was visibly under the influence kept standing and holding up his beer. At one point, I believe he spilled beer on a patron and a fight ensued. The unhappy couple who had the beer spilled on them walked out, and no one from the theater came over to handle the situation. Shortly thereafter, another man from the same group started yelling at a woman who was seated. He stood over her wildly gesturing as if ready to strike her while a patron seemed to try to grab his arm from behind. Audience members kept looking back to see if anyone was going to address this situation. By the way, this all happened during the show which was extremely distracting and distressing. Finally, the theater manager came over to escort the man and his friends away. However, the man came back and tried to go back to his seat. Again, he had to be escorted away. If the theater is going to continue to serve alcohol, they will need to hire security particularly during shows similar to this one--and not just a theater manager. This is needed to keep their audience members safe and to continue to ensure a quality experience.
