This place used to be good. It is May 2023 and they still haven't brought back the buffet post COVID. I won't be back till it's open.

Make sure you charge the buffet right when it opens, because they run out of food and tell you tough luck.

In retrospect, not only will I come back again, but I'll share the New Candlelight Dinner Theatre with others who are keen about classic quality entertainment.

If there was a way to give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. As a stay at home mom it was very…read moredifficult to start the search for schools for my daughter. As soon as we stepped into WMS we felt at home. We visited many other schools in the area and we found we compared every single one to WMS. We have never looked back. WMS is not just a school it's a community. I've never felt so welcomed anywhere in my life. Every parent, student, teacher, and faculty member has always been extremely nice to us. Most importantly they care for my girl as I would for her myself. They supply her with a place she feels safe, welcomed, and cared for. Because of this she has learned so much, gained so much confidence, and my shy girl has become such a social butterfly. There is nothing better than to hear the excitement in her voice when she shares her dat with us. Each of her teachers have gone above and beyond for her. When she first started and was nervous to interact with her peers her teachers would help "break the ice" with group play on the playground. When she would fight her naps they would rub her back until she falls asleep. When she has shown interest in learning more they have gone out to being in more materials on a subject they know she would love to learn about. When she's had days of not wanting to leave my side they have given her hugs and consoled her until she is calm and ready to start her day. I'm a "worrier" of a Mom and to know that she's in such great hands gives me tremendous peace. I could continue to go on and on about how amazing WMS is and that you should definitely send your children here, but my words can never convey how truly amazing this school and community is to us. Please take a visit, go to a open house, and I assure you'll see just how remarkable this school is too!

My two students are very different in their strengths and weakness and as long as your student seeks out what they need, we have had a very successful and happy time at Archmere. Known as "The Patio," his palatial home was constructed 1916-18 in a style befitting his position in Wilmington society. The name "Archmere" was given to the surrounding estate because of the natural arch the trees formed over the Delaware River vista. This has been home to Archmere Academy since its founding in 1932 by the Norbertine Order. Archmere Academy was officially dedicated on October 12, 1932. Opened as an all boys' boarding school with an enrollment of 22, the Academy is now a co-educational college preparatory school with an enrollment of over 500 students. The Patio was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007." Not much to see from the road with the gates locked.

What a neat little gem in the outskirts of Wilmington. Cozy, lodge-y feeling historic space…read morecomplete with wall-to-wall wood planks and a fireplace feels more like a church basement than a concert venue--in a cute way. A small selection of local beers and basic wines were available at the folding table in the back for $2-$4 each, (hooray for tax-free Delaware!), as were free handfuls of chips, nuts and crackers, served up by friendly gild members. The seating/dancefloor layout struck me as odd, with 6-10 rows of folding chairs starting halfway back from the elevated stage. This did provide a generously sized standing/dancing area in front of the stage, however, with everyone seated during the more subdued opener, there was quite an awkward distance between performer and audience. This took away from the potential intimacy of the venue, and the performers commented on it. "Hello, everyone... out there. You're so far away." On to sound. The mix for the opening band was spot-on, vocals and acoustics were full and clear, with great balance between drums, keyboard, and acoustic guitar/vox. The headlining band seemed to pose more of a challenge for the sound guy. Vocals were barely audible over the drums, bass, synths, guitars and sampling. When vocals were bumped up, the mics squealed. This well-versed and well-traveled Brooklyn band usually flaunts lush, layered vocal arrangements, so the imbalance between lost vocals vs. harsh feedback was particularly frustrating. Later in the set sound improved some, but still lacked complete clarity and eq balance. Sound can be affected by a multitude of factors, of course. Faulty equipment, borrowed equipment, the space, house limitations, sound guy limitations. I can't say whether the problem was internal or external, especially after the opener's pristine sound, so I'm only deducting one star. Perhaps the effects-laden, shoegazey headliners were just too heavy for the venue. Still, I will be back when another great show skips Philly and lands in Arden. In the interest of improving atmosphere, I will avoid taking a seat.
