I think the current shops and restaurants are some of the best I've seen. There are a few boutiques going out of business at the moment, but hopefully they won't stay vacant long. I haven't tried any of the higher-end restaurants like The Table or Black Sheep Brasserie yet, but I do enjoy Aqui Cal Mex, Willow Street Pizza, and Taiwan Restaurant to name a few. Some of my favorite shops are Mariette Chocolates, Hicklebees independent book store, and Footwear, Etc. My chiropractor and massage therapist also have offices there. I find it relaxing to spend a couple hours browsing the shops and having lunch. Plus it feels good to support small local businesses.

I'm a bit directionally impaired and half the adventure is just getting myself there! You tell me South I go North, left and I turn right! So wAen I arrived at the Garden Theater Plaza, saw the old, colorful theater decor on the outside, I entered with my typical hazy-eyed confusion. A pleasant surprise, the theater has been renovated to house a bevy of local businesses including a sushi restaurant, bridal store, fro yo shop, the post office, 2 hair salons, a nail place, and a cafe. It's so convenient that I barely even make it outside during lunch. The clear winner is Top Nosh, whose baking mastery makes its tempting presence known to even the upstairs offices and my growling stomach. And on Saturdays (May thru November, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm) the Garden Theater holds the Willow Glen Farmer's Market. My biggest suggestion for improvement? The elevator could use some immediate updating too. I'm sure that Mr. Otis would understand as it is a bit crotchety in its old age. Although it's been reliable and hasn't failed me yet (hopefully, that won't lead to a review update), quirkiness is not the best characteristic in an elevator! With rows and rows of tackle, I am able to find most lake specific lures, weights, bait, hooks, etc. Sometimes I have to go to the store at the lake itself and get even more specific items, but BPS usually has what I need. Whenever I enter the store, the personnel always ask if I need help or direct me to the area where more specific help can be found. Moreover, the store is dog friendly and has dog treats at the ready. Occasionally, BPS will host a Monday club night whereby if you are a BPS club member, you can stand in line to get a light meal and enter a raffle to win items, but I recommend you go early and stand in line or else there will be no more food left.

They approached me and pressured me into listening to their sales pitch, and it felt like "no" was never an acceptable answer. The entire interaction was uncomfortable and extremely pushy. After signing up, I did more research and realized it wasn't a good investment for me, so I canceled months ago. Unfortunately, the unwanted contact hasn't stopped. I continue to receive spam calls, and when I tell them I'm not interested, they often end the call abruptly only to call again a few days later. It's become incredibly frustrating. Bass Pro Shops should reconsider allowing this kind of aggressive sales tactic inside their stores. Customers come to shop, not to feel pressured into vacation ownership presentations or deal with persistent calls long after they've declined. Because of this experience, I no longer plan to shop at Bass Pro Shops. It's disappointing that one partnership has negatively affected what used to be an enjoyable place to visit.

One drawback is the people who smoke, sometimes including weed, near the businesses where people are trying to sit outside and enjoy. Other than that, a nice mall.

I have to say, it's a nice change of pace. Lately, I've started popping in here before I hit up Target, and I've found some surprising stuff. I actually found a doorknob here that Home Depot had for like 3X, and a new hose for the house. My pre-teen daughter has even come around on the clothes, which is a miracle in itself, and she's super excited about the beauty section. My only complaint is that I found a new shirt here for the exact same price as a used one at the thrift store, which felt like a complete foul on my part! But other than that, it's a solid place. They have tons of clothes and a good selection of household items. I hope they stay because they seem new and busy right now, so fingers crossed!
