I hired Jeff because I needed to…read moreremodel a home that was over a hundred years old and needed to be sure someone had the same vision I did. I wanted to repurpose parts of the home, move windows and doors, and preserve the original details of my home. Most of the other contractors I spoke to told me things that I wanted could not be done but after speaking with Jeff he told me anything can be done! And he made everything happen. My original design for my master bedroom and bathroom which required two front rooms to be reconstructed looks exactly as the finished product. Jeff had to move windows floorboards walls and make repairs as he went. Remember this house was over a hundred years old. I had original hard pine flooring which he preserved. All of his contractors were top-notch. Even baseboards that were original to this home had to have special knives cut to reproduce the original design and Jeff made it happen! I have had other work done in other homes prior to this that were not even difficult projects that did not go as well as this one. Jeff made everything easy with his communication and his professional workers and was very attentive to details. When my brother-in-law who helped me to draw up the original design came to the home to look at the finished work he kept staring at it shaking his head! When I asked him why he was so surprised at the finished room he said "I know I helped you draw up the design but I didn't actually think they would be able to do it!"

As a result, family got very sick from the mold and we had to undergo serious renovations on our home. Since the water intrusion was minor, the issue was not noticed until much later (the mold formed all in the insulation around the pipe). Unfortunately, since we were not able to connect the dots that our sickness was mold, the mold was in the wall, and it was stemming from the pipe/boot within a year, we were outside of Red Tops 1 year warranty and they balked on any liability; even a simple request for a refund on the small project they did. Raised this issue with Red Top and they did not come out to my home until 5 months and 20+ emails, phones calls, text messages later.

They came out, looked at everything, and gave us an honest assessment. The attic fan was an easy repair and they did it in a way that future replacements would be easier. All in all, they were timely, efficient, polite, and seemed very honest. As we got their info from a friend who also had a fabulous experience, we were not surprised by how great they were.

I called and spoke to John to schedule an installation of a ceiling system that I had purchased…read more This is how everything went - "We will be out there Wednesday to install the ceiling. We can install the lights and the HVAC with it for $20/light and $15/vent" John I hear nothing back that day. I ask the person in the house if the job is done and see that the wire were only hung up. I get back in touch with John and ask what is going on. He informed me that they had some difficulties with the product that I had provided and that he and Tim got into an argument over it. John also informed me that we had a deal and they will get the job done. A week goes by and I don't hear anything back about the job. I get a call today from John stating that the job is done and is looking for payment. I ask him if he could provide me images of the completed job so that I can verify that it was done. The ceiling was hung up. Thank you Tim. The lights and vents were not done as John stated, "we would need a licensed electrician and HVAC professional to do that part." Why wasn't I informed of this before we even started? I have an incomplete job now. This is where I hear the many excuses, guilt trip and long story of how everything went wrong. To top this all of, John admits to threatening the workers, which I believe to be Tim and crew that if they don't finish this job they will not be put on another job. He also mentions that he and whoever was doing the job got into a verbal argument and he did not hear back from them. What should have happened is pre-inspecting the materials job and other conditions before giving a quote and potentially changing materials beforehand. If I knew I wasn't going to get all of this done at once, I wouldn't have even started the job. I give one star back because at least they did something and they gave me $100 back for the unprofessional mess that management stirred up.
