This is a novel, but a home is a huge investment so please take the time to read. Don't just…read morelisten to this...go to subdivisions and talk to people who live there and have homes by him and have been in them long enough to have dealt with issues and see if they have been resolved and how long it's take. This is just my opinion....If you have the opportunity to deal with Kevin Long, my advice is to find someone else to buy or build your home with. While he did not build my home (that man has passed away) kevin/ knock out is now supposed to take over the warranty work for my home. I have had numerous dealings with him...first for warranty paint work. That was a disaster as the guys that came spent most of the day smoking, tracking paint all over my very expensive hardware flooring, and in general being lazy. They had several entire walls to repaint and, as it turns out did not remove light covers so painted walls with a roller AROUND the light covers and now I have one inch differences in paint colors of new and old paint. I have several other issues that were supposed to be addressed that day (May 2018) and here it is April 2019 and I have sent him probably 50 emails/texts in the meantime and my issues are still not fixed. He has also built and entire house next door to me and has started a house across the street from me. Yet he continued to tell me "give me more time"..."I just need 2 more weeks" every time I write him to inquire when he can do them. When finishing up the house next door, his minion ran into my $6000 fence, even though they had been told over and over again that no one is to be on my property without my permission (this is due to several contractor and subdivision issues). Yet I happen to be home for lunch and see this! keeping in mind, I have a pie shaped lot, being much bigger in the back. My back yard extends approximately 10 feet on the other side of my fence, so NO reason the bobcat should have been even close to my fence. The extremely unprofessional email screenshot I have attached is his response to my threat of a lawsuit because he failed to show up with a check for the contractor I hired to fix the fence. I venture to guess that him, being a contractor himself, would take issue with someone not paying him the day of a job, especially if he did not know the person. The moral of the story is run fast and far because I have been promised so many things by this guy, (again, full disclosure he did not build my house but he has an agreement with the developer to do the warranty work on these certain homes and clearly that is not being done). He is such a salesman and tells you what you want to hear and then never follows though with the promises he makes. He also makes promises he knows he has no authority to make and can not deliver on just to get you out of his hair for the time being. Not to mention the way he talks about the subdivision owners....yet they are the ones who got him in the subdivision and gave him all the business and these are only SOME of my issues!!!

6/10/22 the city failed the Egress window Schultz put in, stating it needed a drainage system after…read morethis had been done over a year ago. Brandon, the owner of Schultz, never completed the permit. Our basement had flooded once in 2021 and again 2022 due to his faulty work. Schultz came out and claimed they installed a drainage system. Schultz told the city they did this but did not show them. On 6/29/22 the city stated it was approved based on what Schultz told him. On 7/26/22 my basement flooded AGAIN, it was the first rain since the last time he worked on our property in June of 2022. Per code in our county a window well has to go to a French drain or daylight drain if those are not present then one needs to be put in or a sump pump needs to be put in, neither was done. Two city inspectors came to our home on 7/27/22 after my husband dug all the way down to the footing and confirmed there was no drainage system in place. The lead inspector Brad at St Charles city called Schultz and advised there was no drainage system in place and Schultz needed to call us to make it right. Schultz met with us on 8/6/22 at McDonalds and advised he WOULD NOT be doing anything to rectify the situation. Then Schultz continued to lie stating the engineer was working with him on a current job which in fact was a lie after speaking with Broughton Engineering. Broughton Engineering also stated there needed to be a drainage system in place. Schultz STILL refuses to provide insurance information which tells me they have none. Schultz was sued for over 99,000 by a previous customer which I found out later and has yet to pay a penny of what he owes her. Brandon also admitted in court he had NO INSURANCE. This is not the first time he has done shady work. I have reported him the the BBB and Attorney General. Look at his google reviews. Check out "Deals Gone Bad" on FB, many others have pleaded with people to avoid him. Keep in mind some of his reviews are from his friends and wife. This man has only been in business five years and many people coming forward with issues and no resolution from Brandon. I have paperwork from the city stating Schultz is at fault, my adjuster and the engineer STILL Brandon refuses to do ANYTHING.

Mike and Michelle are extremely professional, reliable, reasonable, kind, and do extremely excellent work! We had a lot of work that needed done and they had to follow behind extremely bad work by a previous contractor. They remodeled our bathroom down to the studs! Fixed another bathroom and installed a partition. Fixed and remodeled kitchen! Did plumbing, electrical, drywall, ceilings, painting, outside work, installed doors, flooring, fixed issues that others said they could not fix without replacing completely! Mike can pretty much fix anything and he thinks outside the box to get issues resolved! Mike and his crew work long hours, are honest, hard working, polite, respectful, and clean up after themselves every day! Thirty seconds of key strokes, and my request was submitted. Within 30 minutes, I received a call from Brian. Shortly after that, he showed up at my home, inspected for free, took photos, and interpreted. I learned there was some limited damage, but not quite enough to warrant an insurance claim at this time. Not more than two hours passed from the time I found contact information until "roof inspection" was checked off my to-do list. I realize not every service provider can drop what they're doing, and respond to me, and that I was lucky circumstances allowed such a quick response. Still, Brian took the time to talk, make the drive, climb the ladder, walk the roof, and tell me what he saw. High marks for responsiveness and communication. Thank you, Top Most Roofing!
