I visited this place with couple of friends. The location is not very visible from the outside and is easy to pass by.
They have their own guarded parking lot and seems that during the busy weekend it is a Valet Parking but, there are plenty of street parkings too. (Just don't leave anything valuable in the car)
At the entrance, was greeted by the receptionist who had a great smile. Immediately was seated in a table. Place is a bit upscale with full bar inside and a live environment was noticeable with people talking and vibrant music playing in the background.
We started with couple of in-house cocktail mixes and the bartender definitely knew what he was making. Pretty savory.
I ordered for everybody. Parrillada de la Casa; a cut of Rib Eye Steak, Barbacoa de Picanha and house Guacamole.
Starting the dishes, the Parrillada came with a Fire Show :). Nothing special but the presentation really combined well with the ambiance. That was good touch. The meat, was flavorfully juicy and the saltiness of the sausage combined really well with the meat.
The Barbacoa in the other hand was something that I have never tasted in this way. I know the flavor of Picanha but, adding the seasoning the original flavor was so reduced that it didn't really impressed me. Maybe reducing the seasoning and accentuating the original Picanha flavor can make a little better dish. However, this is only my personal opinion.
For the quantity of the food, the order above was made for 4 adult males and it was plenty for all of us.
In general the place is greatly recomendable when visiting Mexicali. Once in the restaurant, you can really feel the difference from outside look. read more
