I always went to Natural Doctors for treatment. I went to two of them over the past three years. They were good Doctors, very kind and did everything to help me. However I was not getting better. And while that work absolutely changed my life in a profound way, I hit a wall about five years ago. A frustrating one. Because no matter how much I processed or understood, my body still held it. The body really does keep the score. Even after understanding my brain, my nervous system, I still believed I could out-think it. I figured if I just did enough mindset work, I could 'fix it'. Oh sweet girl... if only. This is why growth is not linear. It is not perfect. It is like an onion. Oh me oh my- the layers! This past September, I was taking meds multiple times a week for headaches, invested in a mouth guard thinking maybe I was grinding my teeth, questioning all that could be 'wrong' or fixable and still--my hips were locked, my jaw ached, my temples throbbed, and my neck felt like it was fused. That's when I found Melissa. And the rest is history. We've been working together consistently since then - weekly to start, then bi-weekly, and she's truly been one of the greatest gifts in my life this past year.
