We've been here twice recently and the service is both friendly and excellent; the food copious and tasty. Our first time, my mom and I split a schnitzel as the dish was so big, we didn't need our own. The second, we all ordered steaks with baked potatoes and each steak came with two humongous baked potatoes. We took part of our steak dinners home and they were equally good as leftovers. It's a nice local place with good food.

I visit Kaiserslautern about twice a year and we decided to come here for a casual after work dinner. I loved how close it was to SAKS, my hotel and that I could get schnitzel. I don't eat pork but LOVE a good schnitzel and can indulge when they are veal or chicken. Our server was very nice and attentive. We all got Pilsners and a schnitzel a piece. OMG they were huge! 2 very large schnitzels topped with mushrooms and onions with a side of potatoes. I have had some very authentic home cooked schnitzel, so this one didn't have a chance to compare, but for a small restaurant in the city center, they were excellent. Very crispy yet juicy. None of us could finish our plates and we all took food home. I'll definitely be back next visit.

Once we checked into our hotel, we walked to what seemed the main part of town and discovered Brauhaus am Markt. We're given menus that have pictures with both a German and English explanation for each entree. This is my first meal in Germany so I want start with Schnitzel and a beer. I must point out, as an American we're used to a pint when being served a draft beer. I swear, these supersized glasses are 1.5 to 2 pints. Huge! My meal is served to me and the schnitzel is cooked amazing. Nice tasting schnitzel and served with a side of mushroom gravy. Now I'm an American and there are fries on the plate. Is there no ketchup being served? I look around, this is a ketchupless country?? We're seating street level, people are smoking at their tables after their meals. Brauhaus, I was served a great meal. Highly recommend if you're deciding on a dining destination. (Bring ketchup packets)

This was my first time to this brewhouse. I was able to visit dueling Oktoberfest days, so of course I had to have their seasonal Oktoberfest beer. Needless to say, the beer was amazing and I ended up having more than my fair share...It was just that good! I ended up ordering the curry brats which came with fries and d a side salad. In my opinion, the salad was amazing, the fries were decent, and the brats were good but not great. The brats came with what tasted like a sweet bbq sauce and had curry put on top. I asked for a sauce for my fries since they needed something a little extra and my waitress brought out Brazil sauce... I don't know what it is, but I do know that stuff was fire!!!! The whole restaurant was a fun vibe inside and out. I enjoyed sitting outside during my visit and having beer with others to talk to.

Friendly staff welcomed a large party of eight. Waiter was friendly and patient. The beer was solid. Portion sizes were huge. I could only eat house of my dish. The house salad dressing was tasty. Prices were reasonable. Dinner and drinks for four adults and four kids was $160 euro. My wife and I have spent that much on a date night by ourselves. Would recommend for any Americans looking for a night out.

Best food court in Florence. Definitely worth going to check out, have a meal, and stuff yourself. When I first saw it on the map, I thought it was just a market. It was actually a market place with a giant food court in the market with everything for sale is actually outside. When you go in, you'll see all the food everywhere and they have local dishes. When you walk around that even give you samples of the Florentine steak. We went to three different Florentine steak restaurants, and the food court actually had some of the most tender well cooked steak. The prices for the steak here are actually way better. Once you find a And get your food, you can wait for a server to come and they will ask you if they want to get you any drinks. Take it vantage of this because sometimes the lines for drinks get very long. This place is great. Would highly recommend anybody who's going to Florence

This salad was prime! Delicious AND a work of art!

Ok, the other restaurant we were going to eat only took cash, so we went here and I'm so glad we did. Their stuffed schnitzel is incredible and that salad doesn't just look great...it's magnificent! The staff works fast but doesn't crowd you. Very nice people, reasonable prices and generous portions. Eat here if you're in Garmisch!

Love this place! Hadn't been in years! Was happy to return. I always get the Rumpsteak Brasil. The sauce is really amazing. I don't use it more for the fries than the Rumpsteak.

Brauhaus is my favorite place to eat in Germany!! It's a great location right in front of the beautiful church where you can hear the bell toll each hour. Delicious microbrews, and food. The seasonal beer was a west coast pale ale with flavors of mango and hops. The Hefeweizen is perfect for a hot day or anytime as a light beer. A German classic always on tap with hints of banana and clove. The Schnitzel Salad is incredible!! Order it with the house dressing which is delectable, and it also comes with quark on the side. Crisp salad with veggies and a large amount of crispy schnitzel on top. We always have great friendly service here.

The interior is one of a traditional German village eating establishment, but being located close to an American base, it make concessions such a menu with pictures and English to make it easier to order. The "Stammtisch" (German for "regulars' table) is not a table, but a section of bar. Great traditional fare with accompanying beer or wine. I dined on the traditional schnitzel and it did not disappoint as it was accompanied by a great local beer. Keep room for dessert and some schnapps to help with the digestion. If you are within driving distance, don't miss this gem! I had the "Garlic Marinaded Pork Ribeye" and selected the pan fried potatoes. OMG OMG OMG ... meat cut thin so two cuts served... the garlic was there front and center but NOT overpowering in any way. A bit of herbed butter, roasted garlic cloves that melt in your mouth, and these fantastically flavored potatoes that are just divine. All served with a generous side of a parsley and ?? Sour cream to die for. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bring cash, no plastic. Well, sadly, we showed up on the one day of the week the castle was closed. However, we were able to stop into the Burgschanke for a bite to eat which was a completely unexpected stop as this 'castle tavern' was not here the last time we visited! We were approached as soon as we entered and asked if we had a reservation. Oh, no. Turned out OK as they had two tables available at the moment. Yea! The staff speak English, the menu is in English so no worries if you don't speak German. We had a light lunch of beef broth with bone marrow balls and a side salad. They also have wursts and other German fare you would expect. But we don't have huge appetites so this lunch suited us very well. First the soup. A rich, dark beef broth. A little salty, and very flavorful. The bone marrow balls remind me of matzah balls. This was an all together satisfying starter. It came with a small loaf of bread. Soft on the inside, crusty on the outside. A very nice, warm accompaniment to the soup. Next, the salad. We had been in Germany over two weeks at this point and none of the meals we had up to this point really reminded us of those we remembered from when we lived in Germany. That's fine. Pallets change. Chefs like to experiment. It's all good. But this salad! This is the salad we remember. The mix of greens. The salad dressing. This folks is a German salad. I know you might not care, but I am so happy to have found that taste again. It was fresh and flavorful and exactly what we needed. A hotel is located a little ways down the hill from the castle. Some people parked there and walked up. We drove all the way up to the castle and found parking on site. You can also walk all the way up to the castle or ride your bike on one of the many trails crisscrossing the property. The ambiance here is chill, fun and very German. The staff are friendly, professional and easy going. Restrooms are down a hall at the back of the restaurant. Remember to call in a reservation! You should definitely stop by for a meal.
