My husband's favorite flavor of ice cream is the pistachio almond chocolate chip. It wasn't available for scoops, so he asked if they would be willing to use a half gallon to make a shake and a cone for me. Surprisingly, they were gracious enough to do it. We stopped at this braums on the way home after traveling all day. My husband went in and ordered takeout. This is what we ordered. Single hamburger meal combo with lettuce and pickles only. No cheese Pepsi for the drink. A cup of ice cream: 1 scoop orange sherbet and one of lime sherbet A strawberry milkshake. Here's what I got. A CHEESEburger with pickles no lettuce Fries that tasted like they've been cooked in old oil No drink 1 scoop of orange sHerbert 1 scoop of strawberry sHerbert or ice cream A strawberry shake My husband asked the girl if the lime sHerbert was there and she just looked at him like she couldn't talk. I called to talk to the manager who wasn't listening to me but talking to someone and I had to ask her to please listen to me. Later I thought well, maybe she's very tired too. She may have been on her feet all day. She told me they don't sell lime sHerbert nor Pepsi I said that's fine, but the server should have told us that and offered what they do carry. No Pepsi? I got a Bag of Burgers and a Chicken Tender (6) combo meal. Please don't judge me, I ate the burgers over 3 meals and I bought them as I went there for chicken tenders and got curious about the bag of burgers deal. The chicken tenders tasted like someone fried them an hour before they were served to me. They were hard, room temperature, and unseasoned. Everything wasn't seasoned at all. The burger patties, fries, and chicken tenders all needed seasoning when I got home. I know you can ask for no seasoning at some places if you have a heart condition, but I've never heard of somewhere doing this as the default. The burgers come with ketchup and two pickles by default. I'm assuming you can ask for mayo and mustard instead (or in addition) to these. It seems like whomever was putting these together was going very fast and simply stacked both pickles on top of one another. This wasn't a big deal since I was already having to add mayo and salt to the burgers. I'll see if I can add lettuce, onion, and tomato if I go again as well. I'm assuming the cost will go up, but hopefully only by a quarter/burger or so and it would be worth it as the deal would be pretty good for little burgers if they were a complete burger. I'll never get the chicken tenders again though as I don't want to have to have a conversation with a teenager about why they shouldn't serve something that has sat in a fry basket hardening for an hour. Fast food does mean prepping ahead for long fry time stuff sometimes, but these had to have been sitting for ages. The girl working the drive through rang up my order incorrectly at first, but she had fixed it by the time I got to the window. They have large air conditioners out by their drive-through sign that make a lot of noise. The young kid working the window (Noah according to the name tag) was incredibly polite and well-groomed (which is always a plus when people are handling your food). The only downside is that he didn't smile at all even during courteous small talk and he thus seemed very unhappy to be there. I don't need staff to be incredibly friendly, but I left worrying about his well being. People communicate that they're doing okay and are happy through small talk and his communication was that he was miserable. . . politely, professionally miserable. read more

Filthy is the first word of description that comes to mind. They gave the impression no one working believes in cleaning as you go. My experience at this location was less than stellar. I think I'll try another location next time. First I was confused where to order a small ice cream. The sign said go to the left but there were no clerks there and all the people and clerks were to the right so I went to the right. I told the young girl behind the counter I wanted a small sundae and she looked at me like she never heard of it. I clarified by saying it was the small sundae listed on the menu. I mean, are there that many things on the menu that they can't remember? And it's an ice cream place for Pete's sake. How could you not understand someone ordering a small sundae? I even specified the price. She looked around nervously like she was afraid she was going to make a mistake and then went and got a manager who came up and briskly and cheerfully asked me what I wanted. I said the small sundae with caramel and he looked like he knew exactly what I meant. As well he should. I thought I would get a choice of ice cream flavors but he walked away before I could specify. Maybe it only comes with vanilla because it's so inexpensive. I don't know. But I missed my opportunity to taste the Cherry ice cream. I had a receipt and a number so I went over and stood and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. I finally went and sat down at a small table. And waited. And waited. And waited. I got up and walked over to the counter knowing it had been way too long. I mean seriously, how long does it take to put one scoop of ice cream in a cup and pour some syrup over it. I finally asked a very nice young man behind the counter if my ice cream was almost ready. He asked what I ordered and I said a small sundae. He also seemed to know what a small sundae was. He reached under the counter and pulled out my sundae and slid it across to me with apologies. He said they didn't tell him who it was for and he just assumed it was part of a larger order. He apologized again and I told him no problem. All that is the bad news. The good news was that the sundae was absolutely delicious and I would definitely come back just for that. I wasn't able to take a picture because my phone died right before I came in but I will try to have it charged up and post a picture next time. I usually love braums and was looking forward to it after moving back to Texas after a year, but literally the worst experience I've had. I ordered chicken tenders and the lady was so nice but the tenders were tough and chewy. I let it slide since I was really looking forward to the ice cream. I usually get a double dip sundae modeled after a banana split so that I won't eat three scoops. I asked for a tuxedo since I thought it would be easier and asked if I could have rocky road for both ice creams. I know it's usually one vanilla and one chocolate but I was really just wanting chocolate and marshmallow topping then adding a banana on top. The lady (named Tasha, supposedly a shift lead) scoffed and turned to her coworker and asked "can I do that?" While rolling her eyes. I already have a hard time asking for what I want since I get social anxiety but I stood there amazed that my request was seen as "too much". I literally wanted to cry cause I thought I was being rude but the other lady said "that's fine". Which eased me a bit but I couldn't muster the courage to ask for banana. I ended up just grabbing one from the grocery side. Anyway, I waited for my husband to order and he received the same attitude even though he got the simplest order: single dip strawberry sundae. She huffed as she made it. The real shocker is she gleefully spoke to her coworker and as soon as she approached the counter with our stuff, her whole demeanor changed. Cold, rude, and bothered. I get this job is stressful (I've worked at sonic), but damn at least fake it. I'm so frustrated and disappointed. I would've done a one star but the ice cream is too good.. sorry for the rant. We went in for a sundae, only one employee was wearing a mask, thankfully the one young man who waited on us. One employee was going in and out of the cooks area, standing and talking with a female employee who was working. The one who was not working, was not wearing a mask, came by our booth asking how we were doing. Then a street person came in, heading to the restroom, coughing and holding his stomache, bent over like he was ill. Of course, no mask. This location on the boulevard is a joke when it comes down to the drive-thru and the people working it and can't say much for the district manager either I believe he said his name was Carl he followed through about as much as the little girls that didn't want to work, but instead would leave the customers in the drive thru while they stood around gossiping to buy time to turn off the lights and tell the five still waiting vehicles that they were closed. This went on for 20 minutes. The customers in line thought the person at the menu was taking up all the time when in fact they were told to wait by employee to get back to them to take the order, which didn't happen they stood around until it was time to close, turn off all outside lights, then tell everybody they were closing. District manager couldn't even manage to follow through with a follow-up phone call I instead had to keep calling him back just to get the runaround that he would have the new manager contact me which never happened. We just came here for some ice cream. I'm so glad mine was from a brand new tub of chocolate because one of the chocolate concoctions of a flavor I saw, looked like piled up left overs or just a poor view of ice cream that is suppose to look delicious but didn't. Don't know why they didn't just remove it all together or replace it w/fresh batch. I will say you get some gigantic scoops for the price! Selective flavors though. I had to go the restroom and bless this ladies heart because I totally busted in on her while she was on the toilet and I was like, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry ma'am!" She came out and I apologized again. She just said it's ok and said the lock wasn't working properly and good luck. Aw darn it, it was just a little tough to switch to lock mode but it did lock. I mentioned it to an employee, so they can double check to see if they can lubricate it so it's easier to turn. When I came out from the restroom this older man was coming out from the men's restroom and he had told me, "I hate to say this but you have two hams behind you". Oh my goodness! I laughed so hard because right about that time my husband looked over at me and I was trying to tell him what the man said. We both couldn't believe he said that. They had me pull up and wait in drive thru for 20 minutes and served every car in that line ( 4 of them ) before finally bringing out my food. all I ordered was their "bag of burgers". 5 SMALL slider like burgers with no special instruction. I came to Amarillo on a weekend visit and decided to try this for the first time. I had my doubts about it since there are several of these establishments around town. But I will say I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. I had the well-known Hot Fudge Sundae. And it was very, very good. I enjoy ice-cream as much as the next person. And I will say that I am a fan of this place, even though I tend to stay away from chains and franchises. This place isn't one of those one-of-a-kind-places but definitely a place to depend on when your sweet-tooth is in need of a fix or you want a hamburger and shake. This store even had a mini-mart of sorts in it. From produce that appeared to look fresh, to milk, eggs, and cheese. Sausages, frozen box dinners and even lots of gluten-free foods to choose from. The reason for the four stars is for the affordability, and the very nice customer service from an employee named Javier who helped me decide on what I should get, since I had never tried before. A GREAT attitude even though I was taking a long time to order. And that sort of service will keep me coming back every time I come to visit. read more
