I need to do a little more investigating, but at first look, this park has potential. I am not sure…read moreif overnight camping is allowed, but I did see a few tents. There are a couple of boat/fishing docks. There are also restrooms, though I did not check them out. It struck me as, perhaps, a decent place to swim and have a picnic. I think I saw BBQ grills there too. I did not see a potable water supply, but maybe it was in the restrooms. There are a couple of baseball fields here too, but it did not look like they have used recently. Bottom line: Like I sad, need more investigation when I have more time. Edit: So I went looking for more info, and found this. From: http://www.lakegranbury.net/hunter-park/ Hunter Park is located on the west side of Lake Granbury just north of the city of Granbury, Texas.  This is one of the best parks on the lake to spend the afternoon or for some overnight camping.  The camping in this park and in all parks along Lake Granbury is considered primitive camping.  There are restrooms, but there is no water or electric on any campsites.  There are no real defined campsites only some picnic tables along the edge of the lake.  All camping is free and first come first serve. There is plenty of shade in Hunter Park.  You can easily park your tent under a tree for some shade during the day.  The park does have a nice fishing pier and a nice boat ramp.  There is an old football field in the park as well.  It does not look like it has been used in a while. Brazos River Authority Park Rules: Disorderly conduct is prohibited. No dumping of household garbage permitted. No littering.  All trash must be placed in barrels. Off-road operation of vehicles is prohibited. No dirt bikes or all-terrain vehicles allowed. All pets must be kept on a leash. No livestock permitted. No fireworks or firearms allowed. No glass containers allowed. This is a beautiful park on Lake Granbury.  It is one of the best parks you will find on the lake for day-use or for camping. Located at: 2800 Weatherford Hwy Granbury, TX

We were accused of being here for 10 days. If you want a limited trip and harassment for staying longer than 4 days, this is the place. Would NOT recommend

This year the city hosted a festival with live music and food vendors, but this review will only focus on the fireworks show. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Fireworks, Return) Atmosphere - There are few places as pretty as Lake Carolyn when the sun sets. The lake is very big, and the city allows visitors to sit in any of the public places. We ended up sitting in the lawn area in south corner. While not we weren't as close to the fireworks as other parts around the lake, we had an amazing view of the buildings in the back. 1 Star. Service - The City of Irving had buses shuttling people from the fireworks show to the parking garages at the Toyota Music Factory. The lines were long, so we paid $10 to park in one of the nearby garages. You pay for convenience, but it's hard to get out of parking garage. It is what it is. 1 Star. Fireworks - You have to be a grumpy person to not like fireworks. The show was great, with plenty types of fireworks. There was music piped in through speakers in our area. The finale could have been better, but hey it's a fireworks show. 2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. This was my first experience with fireworks but not my last. I really loved the spectacular views of the firework above the lake. Best of all, it wasn't extremely crowded and a fun time overall. Well done, Irving! 1 Star.
