The public beach is also walkable from the square, making for a nice walk to see the water or perhaps to look at some of the bed and breakfasts (there are B&B options on the square, and also walking distance from the square). The plaza is home to many event throughout the year. During these times the parking lot is used for vendors and entertainment, and makes for a lovely way to spend the day. That's what you get here--old-style architecture and a small-town vibe that, if just for a moment, makes you feel like you've been transported back in time. Our server was a young lady named Lauren. More on Lauren shortly. This was not our first trip to Babe's Chicken House. But it had been a while, definitely too long, since we were here when we came years ago, we would usually order a chicken each. Now we are in our golden years and we can't eat that much, so we split one. But it was just as delicious as it has been each previous time! The Chicken was fried too absolutely perfection! The golden brown skin was seasoned perfectly and was very crunchy, just the way we like it. And the meat was hot and fork tender, Oh, I still prefer to use My fingers.
