This year the city hosted a festival with live music and food vendors, but this review will only focus on the fireworks show. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Fireworks, Return) Atmosphere - There are few places as pretty as Lake Carolyn when the sun sets. The lake is very big, and the city allows visitors to sit in any of the public places. We ended up sitting in the lawn area in south corner. While not we weren't as close to the fireworks as other parts around the lake, we had an amazing view of the buildings in the back. 1 Star. Service - The City of Irving had buses shuttling people from the fireworks show to the parking garages at the Toyota Music Factory. The lines were long, so we paid $10 to park in one of the nearby garages. You pay for convenience, but it's hard to get out of parking garage. It is what it is. 1 Star. Fireworks - You have to be a grumpy person to not like fireworks. The show was great, with plenty types of fireworks. There was music piped in through speakers in our area. The finale could have been better, but hey it's a fireworks show. 2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. This was my first experience with fireworks but not my last. I really loved the spectacular views of the firework above the lake. Best of all, it wasn't extremely crowded and a fun time overall. Well done, Irving! 1 Star.

It was named after Wayne Ferguson, a former mayor with a true git-r-done attitude. We love the events that are held at the plaza, particularly the Sounds of Lewisville Concert Series. They bring in bands that are based locally and from farther cities. Always enjoyable and appreciated. We couldn't be happier that the concert series has been brought back this year. Having outdoor events lifts our spirits as we move back to life before the pandemic.

After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

The fields are labeled by the numbers "1" though "8." The field numbers can be found on the backstop of each field. The cool thing is that they had two food trucks out there. One was selling bar b que and the other was selling snow cones. It was all great. The only bummer is the stadium seats do not have backs to them. So, bring a chair or a stadium seat back.

An older man working charged my fiancé over $500 when the total was supposed to be $50 and some change. There is no email, phone number, Facebook page, or any means of communication to get in contact with these people at the firework stand to get the charges changed. My son went to buy fireworks on the night of July 4th at this location it was supposed to be $36.91…read moreand they charged him $363.91. He drove up there the next day when we realized the charge was wrong and there was no one there. There is no phone number or any contact info. Our bank refunded the money and then now is taking it back out because the fireworks stand said that it was an accurate purchase. They did not offer a receipt or anything but told our bank they had the receipt. He has tried to message to get it settled and no response.
