This little bakery is amazing. The folks who own/run it are awesome. I go every Sunday morning and get a hot loaf of sourdough bread, so damn good. While I'm there I can't resist their cheese danish, hands down the best danish I have ever eaten. They also have fresh made tomato pie which is delicious , it tastes like dipping your bread in your grandma's Sunday sauce. Everything here is pure perfection. Sour dough bread, macaroons, baklava. Best baklava I have ever experienced. I ordered a birthday cake, a chocolate cupcake, and their famous Cinnasant! Birthday cake: One of the best birthday cakes I can remember having. Lightly sweet vanilla cake, perfectly sweetened vanilla buttercream, with a sultry chocolate ganache on top! This 2 layer, 6" round was packed with perfect flavor and separated by chocolate mousse. To top it off, it was garnished with a strawberry and a Ferrero Rocher. Cupcake: I got the chocolate one and thought it was okay. The cake was on the dryer side but not like you needed a beverage. Not my preference. Cinnasant: an interesting combination of croissant and cinnamon bun. Average as is. Amazing warmed up. Not sure if this is an option but I took it home and went to town. I can't give these guys high enough marks. My wife stopped by 3 weeks ago and we've been there 3 times in 3 weeks. The smallest of bakeries owned and run by a husband and wife without any other employees. They are making the VERY BEST PASTRIES I've ever had. The Danish have a ring of twisted homemade puff dough on the edge that is so perfectly cooked as the sugars are just caramelized enough to stick to your teeth and pop with a burst of flavor in the best possible way. The fillings are delicious as well. I've had the Cheese Danish and The Apple so far. The Chocolate Raspberry Croissant was extremely light and flaky and had a nice chocolate Raspberry balance. Cinnasants are Cinnamon Buns made with Croissant dough and they will blow your mind !! We've gotten them every time. Their Tomato Pie was exceptional with a hint of seasoning in the dough that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Lastly, we tried a small Italian Loaf and a few pistolettes that, as I expected, were just as on point as everything else we've tried. I've been told their Challah is very good. I would ask anyone considering this place to read their response to the negative reviews. It speaks volumes to their state of mind. I also see a theme as well which I experienced personally. It seems they blackmail customers. As with several other customers I went in to pickup my daughters birthday cake. They hadn't made it correctly and were charging us more than quoted. The husband(?) was defending us while the wife(?) berated us for being demanding and cheap. They got in a heated argument. Then she screamed at us to either take the cake or get out of her shop and have no cake for your daughter. He got so flustered that he just stormed out. My daughter started crying so I just paid and got out as quickly as possible. One of the worst retail experience I have ever had. And the cake wasn't even that good. The woman is just crazy. The best. Bakery. Ever!! Pastries are fresh and always delicious. I have asked them to make several custom pastries, some that they've never made before like cornetti and raspberry cream puffs. They couldn't find raspberries the weekend I ordered the cream puffs (middle of winter and Valentine's Day) so they messaged me a few hours before and offered an alternative of a cream puff with raspberry whipped cream with a blackberry and edible flower on top. It tasted incredible and I knew it was super fresh as they literally just made it. It was super affordable too, only $1 per puff. Their tomato pie slices are better than the ones I had in Sicily!! Not exaggerating, I get a slice or two to share almost every time I visit. They are always friendly and helpful in person and when you speak with them online over Facebook messenger. I just moved to the area and this bakery has a lot of great reviews on Yelp. I decided to stop by to try their Tomato Pizza ($3.50) and their famous Chocolate Croissants ($3.75). The Tomato Pizza was just okay, a tad too sour and a bit doughy because it's Sicilian style, nothing special. But what I'm disappointed the most is the croissants. I think I had too high of expectation after reading some reviews which claimed that their croissants are as good as the one in France. I'm a huge fan of croissants and have tried so many croissants in my life. The one I had at Bread and Buttercream Bakery is nothing compare to the one I had in France (if you ever go to Paris, go to Ble Sucre and you'll know what I mean). The croissants wasn't flaky, and honestly the price is quite expensive. Perhaps other items in the menu are good, so I'll go back again to try something else. But the last four times I tried to come here, they were closed when they we're supposed to be open! I showed up at 10:30 on a sunday, and the door has a sign that says 10:45. I showed up on a normal Tuesday around lunchtime, and a sign on the door "closed for the day". I literally cannot buy things here if I want to. It has been this way for a year. I found the secret to get the pastries I enjoy from this bakery. You can place the order to pickup at a later date. Thank you to the person who sent me a message telling me this secret. (Okay I'm sure it's not a secret but it never occurred to me to do this). Placed the order on Sunday for Tuesday. Went in Tuesday and they had my order boxed up and ready to go. While the croissants are the best I ever had the owners have total disregard for their customers. Any retail business that posts hours need to stick to it. I can't tell you how many times I have gone there only to find a sign that says opening is delayed. Also, who ever heard of a bakery opening at 10:30? The owners worked with me to understand what she liked, and the results - a light, fluffy, and not overly sweet white chocolate strawberry mousse cake on a sponge base - came out beautifully. He took the initiative time to hold a conversation and walk me through every item he had on displayed. My purpose for this visit was to just grab a birthday cake. Since everything here are appealing to the eyes, it's simply hard to walk out with just one thing. Choose wisely as it can get a bit pricey. Plenty of pretty decadent desserts.
