We have been renting Jet Skis/SeaDoos for years and years. The machines are kept in great shape. The people that work here are awesome, including Sky. Rentals are easy. You book everything on line. Their website also answers just about any question you could possibly have. They are also lenient on time and don't nickel and dime you. The ride through the harbor is nice. You catch a glimpse here and there of dolphins and sea lions. There are always sea lions at the bouey once you get out of the harbor. You can take a loop from the Jetty to the Balboa and Newport Piers and back. This will take aabout an hour If you just cruise. Overall, I am a fan and then some!+

The only slightly negative is the drive time out and in from the ocean but they give you that extra time and you get to see some great houses, boats, and seals on the ride. At the entrance to the open water there is a buoy that always has seals on it. They love putting on a show for people. I have had a few come climb on board. The open play area in the ocean is much larger than most companies.

When we arrived, the employee who got us set up on the boat was just as great -- patient, informative, fun, and super easygoing. We rented a boat for 2 hours and it ended up being the perfect Memorial Day activity. Credit where it's due -- the staff working the docks were warm and helpful every time. The owner was the opposite. What I watched over the course of that second visit was a man who seemed to make up charges and rules as he went. The clearest example was my own deposit, which somehow climbed from the $300 I was quoted when I booked online to $450 on arrival -- a 50% jump I never agreed to and never saw written anywhere during checkout. And I wasn't the only one. Customer after customer got the same treatment. One person tried to simply walk away from the whole thing, and he laughed at them and announced he'd be keeping their $95. The way he treated his own team was just as hard to watch. Certain employees seemed to be his favorites; others he'd put down openly, right in front of paying customers. The whole place had a tense, on-edge feeling to it. He struck me as genuinely intimidating, and honestly, if I worked there I don't think I'd ever feel safe pushing back on any of it. One more thing I'd want to know before handing this person a deposit. According to a 2003 Tahoe Daily Tribune article, a Mark Sentyrz who owned a Lake Tahoe boat-rental business pleaded guilty to felony unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under 16, as well as furnishing a controlled substance to a minor. I'd encourage anyone curious to look it up and form their own view. Having a boat rental right here in the Marina should be something the community gets to enjoy. The way this one is run, it's the opposite. Skip it.

Oxnard Harbor is the perfect place to escape the heat!…read more If you're in the mood for a leisurely cruise around the harbor on an electric boat, then they got you covered. Literally , the boats have covered canopies! Coordinate with your crew on who's bringing what, and ensure you have snacks, drinks, and music! Is that too slow of a pace for you? Well then, an hour ride on some Jet Skis will do the trick! That's more of my speed anyway! The jet skis fit two people, but I prefer my own. They are way too much fun to share! I'm not getting stuck behind someone, holding on as passenger. I need to be driving! As you exit the marina area you're forced to go slow. Don't let that fool you. Once you move past the designated area, outside the jetty's, then you're allowed to open up the throttle! All the way! You quickly get going on these guys! There is so much to see out there in the sea! If you're lucky enough to ride out near the oil platforms, you'll get to catch a view of Sea Lions and Dolphins. It's a truly 'freeing' sensation to be out there among the wildlife and sail boats. While an hour sounds short for many, this is plenty of time for an adventure. I regularly visit during the summer months. The price point is reasonable. It's money well spent!

After a safety talk and do's and don'ts we were on our way! We all had a fantastic time, although my son's jet ski died on him and he and his friend had to get towed back. They gave us extra time because of this which was nice. A must do if you're in Catalina!
