First off a huge shout out to Adam and Lucas the tour guides. If you get these two you are very…read morefortunate. They are extremely knowledgeable of the ocean the animals the water the skis etc. very friendly. And when they had to help me out of the water two times they didn't complain. With that being said I want to encourage everyone to do this. I'm a 55 year old lady. 5'6" not in shape. I'm a waitress so I walk but I have no desire for the gym. lol. So my daughter signed us up. I'm not knowing we have to swim through a cave. You have the option to stay on. Me I thought go go now. But that here nor there I was in the water. There is a hook or step on the back of the ski to help but I have a little more junk in my truck and needed a little more help. The two of them got me out. Then after getting to the island. There are two routes. The back island is for adventures. There's snorkeling and climbing and you can hang out. very little shopping or eating. But you go to the cave and then swim through it with a guide and then get to the island where you are there for three hours. If you go to the Avalon side you are there for three hours but I feel there is more to do on that side. But if you are adventurous and don't like a lot of people go to the back side. Both I have been to and both are fun. We went to the backside and we were going to snorkel. After the three hours you meet back at the jet skis and it's a fun trip back home. On the way there I was trying to get the hang of it and was always last. there were some speed devils in the group. lol. I was a newbie. On the way back I felt a little more confident. leaving we took off and we're traveling for about 10 min or so when The tour guide along with another person mentioned a pod of dolphins. So we turned around to go back. They swam with the skis. It was a blast. Then we headed back to Long Beach. It took about an hour and 45 min to get there. This included going to the cave and swimming through. There are three stops. It was about an hour and a half to get back. No cave. You are never alone and there is always a guide or another jet ski person around. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I got a little confidence and was doing 42 when two sides of water came at me and I crashed and was thrown from the ski. Again they came and rescued me. Never was I scared or in any danger of anything. After getting me there were a few others that were helped out of the water as well. It was such an awesome time. I loved it and would definitely do it again. Questions I had that after going I'm going to mention and hope this helps you. We meet at 7 am. You park at the hotel. You are stamped and valida through jet ski company so bring your parking ticket. It was only 14 dollars. The jet ski has enough room for two large backpacks. I had a large one and my daughter had a medium one and there was enough room for another backpack. Now if it is not a waterproof backpack I suggest bringing a plastic bag as there is a little water that does get into the jet ski . not a lot maybe two to three ounces. Wear gloves. Very important. Also bring and wear sunscreen. And I recommend boat or water shoes. I give this trip 5 the only thing that I would have a complaint about is the wetsuit itself. You get a long sleeve one piece shorts wetsuit that they give you. They wash or rinse everyday after the tour. Mine was still wet and had a mildew smell. Not anything bad and you don't end up smelling like it when you take it off. But that would be the only thing I could even complain about.

They were professional, knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely fun to spend the day with. They took an incredible adventure and made it even better. Before our trip, I spent a lot of time reading reviews trying to figure out what was actually worth bringing. Here's what I found compared to my own experience: The most commonly recommended items were sunscreen, gloves, water shoes, and goggles. I completely agree. We brought all of them just in case and ended up using everything except the goggles. I wear contacts and expected the ocean spray to be an issue, but it never bothered me. That said, I'd still recommend bringing goggles, you may appreciate having them depending on the conditions. I also saw quite a few reviews mentioning the smell of the wetsuits. Honestly, ours weren't bad at all. We wore them on the ride over to Catalina, and on the return trip they weren't required. If you do wear one, I'd recommend leaving the top half down around your waist when you're not in the water. It gives you a little extra padding on the seat while still keeping you comfortable. The ride to Catalina was smooth, and we were able to really open the skis up and enjoy the speed. The ride back was a little choppier, making it more technical to navigate, but it was still an absolute blast. The jet skis are also surprisingly practical. There are two storage compartments: one large enough to hold two or three full-size backpacks, and a second waterproof compartment that's perfect for your phone, chapstick, wallet, or other small essentials while keeping everything easily accessible. We made three scenic stops on the way to Catalina, which gave everyone a chance to rest, take photos, and enjoy the views. The highlight of the trip, though, was the wildlife. We rode alongside a massive pod of dolphins, and it was one of the most breathtaking experiences I've ever had. Being out in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by dolphins in their natural habitat, is something I'll never forget. We also saw seals, which made the experience even more special. I can't recommend this adventure enough. It's more than just a jet ski ride, it's a true ocean adventure and an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. If you're considering it, book it. You won't regret it.

My best friend and I reserved some wave runners from this location. I usually wave run at other…read morelocations but thought this would be a good location with great views. The weather was great and it was not crowded on the water. We arrived on time for the instructions. The check-in area is just a wooden desk with no signage. The woman giving instructions and tips had no personality. She was very dry and I am not even sure she smiled once. She never said thanks for coming out, enjoy the time, etc. Nothing about her said that she nor the company was appreciative of our business. Even her tone sounded like she didn't want to be there that day. She asked for our driver's license and credit card, and told us to proceed down to the dock. I read some previous reviews and I am not sure is she is the same person other people have commented about. But the consistent theme is that she didn't seem happy and it comes across when speaking with customers. Maybe she was not feeling well or having a bad day. I don't know. Sometimes people are just having a day. We then proceeded down the ramp to the area where a few guys helped us obtain life jackets, board the crafts, and understand how to operate them. These guys (either 2 or 3 of them) were pretty awesome. They had great attitudes, seemed to like the job, and made us feel welcome. Before the Queen Mary, the runners are throttled to not go above 5 MPH, in the wake zone. After we passed the QM and a cruise ship, we opened it up and got some speed. The water was pretty smooth and the breeze felt great. The weather was mid-70s and the views were great, especially getting close to the island and tankers. After we returned from our time on the water and excited the craft, we proceeded up the ramp to the wooden table to retrieve our DL and CC. No one was there so we called the main number. One of the guys said the young lady that we received the instructions from would be back. After she returned, we asked her about our items and she said, "They're in a bench on the dock." Did she go get them for us? Of course not. We returned to the dock to find out our driver's licenses and credit cards were in an unlocked bench on the dock. Anyone could have stolen them and we would not have known until we returned. That is totally unacceptable. They should be held in a secure location. Overall, it was a pretty ok experience. They guys made it a better experience. The best part was enjoying the day with my best friend. I am always open to visiting again and updating my review based on that experience. PROS: * Some employees are a good representative of the company and are the reason I would come back, and why I am giving the business a 3-star rating rather than a 2. If my review was based on just the wave runner and the experience with the guys at the dock, it would be a 4-star rating. * Nice size wave runners. Good weight. * Beautiful views. * Good price. * Easy to make a reservation and complete the waiver online. * Nice opp to have lunch at the Maya Hotel afterward. CONS: * Parking is at the Maya. Not a deal breaker though. There's plenty of parking. It was $14 for the first hour and $5 every 20 minutes after. * No signage at the desk where people get instructions. * Employee low interest in our business (not all employees). * Driver's licenses and credit cards are not kept in a secure area that is not easily accessible.

Credit where it's due -- the staff working the docks were warm and helpful every time. The owner was the opposite. What I watched over the course of that second visit was a man who seemed to make up charges and rules as he went. The clearest example was my own deposit, which somehow climbed from the $300 I was quoted when I booked online to $450 on arrival -- a 50% jump I never agreed to and never saw written anywhere during checkout. And I wasn't the only one. Customer after customer got the same treatment. One person tried to simply walk away from the whole thing, and he laughed at them and announced he'd be keeping their $95. The way he treated his own team was just as hard to watch. Certain employees seemed to be his favorites; others he'd put down openly, right in front of paying customers. The whole place had a tense, on-edge feeling to it. He struck me as genuinely intimidating, and honestly, if I worked there I don't think I'd ever feel safe pushing back on any of it. One more thing I'd want to know before handing this person a deposit. According to a 2003 Tahoe Daily Tribune article, a Mark Sentyrz who owned a Lake Tahoe boat-rental business pleaded guilty to felony unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under 16, as well as furnishing a controlled substance to a minor. I'd encourage anyone curious to look it up and form their own view. Having a boat rental right here in the Marina should be something the community gets to enjoy. The way this one is run, it's the opposite. Skip it.
