Stopped at Breakfast at Berries for brunch while on a road trip and loved it! It has an at home feel to it that was very comforting and the staff was attentive and accommodating. Very cute place but service was poor. Our waitress seemed to be a one woman show, she did try to make things right and apologized multiple times for the wait time and food that was not so satisfactory. We ordered Blueberry Pancakes which were under cooked and sent back 2x. Finally asked for plain pancakes which we were able to eat. The bill then came with the Blueberry Pancakes even though we eventually just had plain, which was $2 more. Since we waited so long, we asked for them to go. Let's start with we eat out all the time. Literally. This is so far superior to 99% of the breakfast places we have been to. Everything is very fresh, the biscuits are soft and tasty, the omelets are fluffy and moist. Apparently they have brown farm fresh eggs delivered there every week. Service was a little slow because as with most restaurants these days they are short staffed. However they were still very attentive and our food was served hot and promptly. Go here!!! read more

What a cute spot to grab breakfast! It's a small location and you simply seat yourself when you walk in. The guy who took my order was pleasant and quick. I ordered an egg white omelet with hash browns and white toast. My order came out so fast!! It was hot and delicious. The only thing I disliked was there was a bit of oil/butter on my omelette but honestly, it did make the egg whites taste a whole lot better. Spent the night at a local hotel that had a terrible version of what a "continental breakfast" is supposed to be. Ask around for the best breakfast place and was referred to this establishment. We arrived about 45 -30 mins before closing and we were turned away because they had "run out of food."

This place is a favorite for me and my husband. It started out just serving breakfast, and we found ourselves hurrying there (we sleep in far too late) most weekends to make sure we got to eat there. They switched to breakfast and lunch (and dinner as long as you didnt want a late dinner) after what must have been a successful time as a breakfast-only restaurant. The service was better when the place was breakfast only... the last few times, the service has been less than stellar, but it still doesn't deter us from eating here. The place is really not that big... but we've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a table. The last time we went, the service was spotty, but it was also busier than we had seen before. Clearly this place is taking off!! It's worth it... give it a try! But leave us a table!! read more

Rude waitress. After being seated by the hostess, the first thing the waitress had to say was "was your name on the list". I enformed her that it was. When she brought the water she accused me of cutting in front of a group of people. Oblvious to what she had been told moments before or without consulting the hostess who had seated me. I got up to leave and was told to have a good day. I stopped at the cash register to let the hostess know what had transpired and suggest better communication between her and the wait staff. The food is excellent as well as the staff. The only thing that would make it better is if they got an hvac company to fix the negative air pressure...the door pulls hard and if you're seated next to a window you'll hear air whistling while getting pulled through the window sill. The most generous and accommodating people work here, adding tangible warmth to the simple dining room. I ordered coffee (they have half and half--not the chemical white stuff), French toast (uniquely done--try it) with eggs and (perfectly cooked) bacon--all of it cooked to perfection, but I was dismayed when saw the ubiquitous (and as we should all know by now, toxic to our health) margarine. My lovely waiter, though, seeing my expression, offered to bring me some of the melted BUTTER that they use on their toast. They use quality BUTTER on their toast, back there in the kitchen, when nobody's looking. To me, that speaks volumes. Have you ever gotten toast slathered in some kind of horrid chemical-tasting grease? Well, rest assured, that won't happen here. We stopped into Breakfast at Berries as tourists but were made to feel very welcome. The atmosphere was very trendy and clean, the staff extremely friendly and even though the restaurant was packed at 9:30am on Sunday we were seated immediately. A group of 12 waited a while for a seat. The menu was very descriptive and our server answered our questions since we always seem to have a couple. Our food took about 20 minutes to arrive but the restaurant was packed. My husband enjoyed nearly all of his Hasheezy potatoes as I stole a few bites...amazing! I had 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast for $7. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast or brunch and will visit again on our next trip to Iowa. read more

My husband loves it here. It is traditional dinner food. I was excited that they started offering lunch, but so disappointed when they wouldn't serve an egg salad sandwich with chips at 10:00 am. We have been going to check this place out for months now and finally had a chance to do it today! First of all you walk in and the place is cutely decorated to project a very homey atmosphere. The walls and the ceilings are multicolored pastel squares . All the tables and chairs are assorted farmhouse style. You really do feel like you stepped into Grandma's farmhouse kitchen. The plates and cups you are served on also are an assortment of dishes with different patterns and such. The staff are all smiling and very welcoming. We each ordered a different thing from the menu. The chicken fried steak and eggs with hash-browns was a good meal for youngest. Pancakes were very good and very large. French toast and hash browns was also a hit. The food was plenty for my hungry family and I highly recommend a stop by here for breakfast/brunch! We also decided that we need to come back and try this place for lunch style fares. read more
