Riverview Roadhouse lives up to its name, I can assure you that much. From there, your experience may vary! Mine was a decent visit with a friend. We found RR to be a central meet up point and gave it a shot. We were treated to an as-expected experience. That isn't to say this is a bad spot by any means, it just doesn't offer a ton to write home about. I'll be honest, it's a dive bar. Now I love dive bars, and this is slightly a level up from a true dive bar, but not by much. The decor is no-frills bar-chic and the menu leaves a bit to be desired (I'd love to see just a FEW more options). We had cheese curds to start, which were tasty, and washed them down with some beers. For a meal, I had a burger and it too was tasty; not amazing, but tasty. I also had a side salad which was fine but very small for the price tag. Overall... hm... I found it to be a typical dive bar but, that said, my friend and I will probably look else where for your next rendezvous. read more

Le Claire is a really cute town but I couldn't decide what to grab for lunch. Settle on this for a burger based on other reviews but to be honest I wasn't confident when I drove up. The place is clean and nice (for a place that has a pool table as you walk in. There was only one person working most of the time but dang she was on it! Food was hot and tasty. She cooked and served. Eventually a server showed up. I was surprised to see lots more women having lunch here than guys having a couple of beers. Am sure the crowd varies by time of day but lunch was definitely different than expected. There are a couple of tables outside, front and back. The view of the river is nice and there are big TVs for watching ball. Tables as well as a bar area inside. read more

We stopped here to grab a quick bite to eat and ended up sitting on the patio watching the river flow by for almost an hour as we enjoyed some very good food. The bartender/server/cook/I'm sure everything else needs a raise. He was super friendly and very outgoing.my wife had a hamburger and I had a Philly cheesesteak. I was surprised I've never stopped here on my way through - I'm usually in the area a few times a year. The view was amazing! Right on the river. Being there in fall was dreamy. The service was good, you order at the bar and it's pretty quick. They don't have anything special on the menu, a few fried options and that's it. Salad was iceberg with cheese and tomatoes basically. Nothing super special, it's very much a bad feel and smell inside. It is a dive bar on the river and has outdoor seating too. We come here every time we are in town. They have the BEST burgers ever!!! I say this because I'm really picky about ordering burgers at places because I am picky I can make a burger at home. But this place is gooooodddd!! Try this place. Service is always friendly! I stopped here for lunch for the first time today. This is a old local establishment that has been around for years. The inside is clean and there are 2 patios, 1 in front facing the road/parking lot and the other in the back facing the Mississippi River. The food menu is very limited to burgers, sandwiches, fries and salads. I had a burger with fries. It was tasty and served hot. On Thursdays they run a special were a $1 is discounted from every item purchased. Unfortunately at 1 PM in the afternoon it was too busy for just the 1 person running the establishment, bar, food, tables, register etc. The individual working was very nice and didn't appear to be rattled, at least not in my presence. This would not be my first choice to stop when in the area. The location is great and could be so much more if managed correctly. read more

This restaurant is at a beautiful site on the Mississipi River. Our waitress was friendly and the place is clean and neat. However, the rest of this review is not so good. She was the only one there to do both the cooking and waitressing. She had to divide up her time between cooking, taking care of the bar, serving the people both inside and outside of the deck. The fries were good but the burger had no taste/flavor. At noon, only 10 people were in the cafe, and it sounded like all of us were first timers there. read more

We stopped in here late on a Monday night because we were crashing at a hotel nearby after a long day of driving and it was literally the only place open other than McDonalds. So glad that's how it worked out, because it's awesome! Don't let appearances fool you - it's a little rough around the edges, but that's part of the charm. Lots of locals when we were there, which is always a good sign. I was happily surprised by the curated selection of canned/bottled beer in addition to the standard bar. Also I MUST give a shoutout to Terry, who was an incredible one woman show of chef/bartender/waitress/hostess while we were there. She handled everything with grace and more efficiently than lots of places with full staffs. Aside from being insanely impressive with her multi-tasking, oh man can that woman make one heck of a burger on that little flattop grill! I had no idea what to expect at this place. We were hungry and decided to check this place out as it was within walking distance to our Airbnb. It happened to be wings Wednesday. I ordered regular wings with no sauce and my friends ordered boneless with a variety of sauces. Everyone really enjoyed their wings and mine were a nice size and done perfect. The lady behind the counter was bartender, cook and clean up crew. She could not have been nicer. A bit sad we didn't get a chance to go back and try this place for other items. This is a great burger and beer stop along the beautiful Mississippi River. Unfortunately the town itself is becoming "Artsy & Fartsy" with "Antique Archeology" groupies. The town is swarmed...looking for a celebrity glimpse that will never happen. So, if this is your motive, go to Antique Archeology and buy a T-Shirt and feel free to belly up to the bar at RRH afterwards for a great burger...just not on my bar stool! read more

We love visiting Le Claire and after reading the reviews we decided to try Riverview Roadhouse for supper. The minute we came through the door the staff were so friendly and accommodating.
