Honestly I'm not sure a visit to the house is worth it. They changed the roof, have a fence and a sign. The owner also glares at you. I even took a picture from across the street and it wasn't pleasant.

My husband…read moreand I visit frequently from Denver, CO as a weekend getaway and I can't recall a single trip where this stop hasn't been on our list. The Museum is well situated in Old Town and an easy bop over from the shops. In fact, if you visit on a Sunday morning, the museum is free of charge and shares a parking lot with Old Town. You can have your parking validated by the museum and spend some time at both. The permanent exhibits at the museum are expertly organized and there's almost certainly something for everyone. You could easily spend the day learning about local New Mexico artists in many different formats, or enjoy the rotating exhibits. Even if a rotating exhibit doesn't sound particularly interesting, I highly encourage you to check it out. The curator at this museum does an absolutely fantastic job of keeping things engaging. There's a particularly profound permanent piece that I highly encourage one to find, which is a video accompanied by a teeter-totter. And don't miss the sculpture garden outside! The gift shop is worth a stop, too. Many of the museum gift shops that I've stopped in over the years are filled with, well, junk--items largely irrelevant to the visit. The Albuquerque Museum, though, showcases local artisans, local food, and so much more. I almost always leave with something from their Los Poblanos case and a new coffee table book about the southwest. Can't recommend this gem enough!

A solid museum! Great exhibits, not too big or too small…read more Parking: They have their own parking lot and are right next to old town if you want to stroll around after your visit. Exhibits: When we visited there was a German art exhibit which we visited but were more into the locally focused exhibits since we were visiting from out of town I really enjoyed the Albuquerque history section as it was unique to the area and covered past to present . There was also a very impressive NM artist exhibit which we enjoyed The have a sculpture garden outside as well Amenities: They have a great restroom, water fountains, lockers to store your belongings, and a cafe Pairing a visit to the museum with a stroll around old town is a great way to spend the day

The brewery made my short list of…read moremust-see spots because of both the adjoining art gallery and the promise of a rye-juniper beer! I was disappointed on neither front. A band had just finished up a set on the small stage when we arrived. We grabbed a couple barstools, and as the band packed up some of their fans cleared out, leaving the place nearly empty for awhile. Then another wave of patrons came in, filling up the room once again. The bartender was friendly and helpful, sharing the brewing company's story and highlighting some special beers. We shared several, and Odin's Eye--that rye-juniper ale--was my favorite. Rented Tux is a smooth vanilla porter, and Father O'Malley's Holy Water, an Irish dry stout, was tasty as well. The art gallery was locked up when we checked, but the bartender opened it up and assured us we could stay as long as we wanted. What a treat!

White walls warmed up with several large paintings and a blonde wood bar, comfortable bar stools and several high tops, all sleek and minimalist without feeling sterile. Nice selection of beers and ales plus some New Mexican brand canned cocktails. AND espresso, a selection of black teas, a hibiscus/lavender kombucha and a N.A. beer. How's that for rounding things out? Friendly bartenders, nice crowd with a mix of ages and persuasions, a patio out back with more art and needless to say a really terrific band.
