I worked with Jack from Breamway on the delivery of my vehicle for a total agreed amount of $614, $156 of that being the broker fee and $458 for the car shipping. I signed the contract and paid the deposit on 1/29/25 for a 1/31/25 pickup. Two hours after signing, I asked if they could pick up the car on 2/3/25 instead (following Monday). Jack said that it wouldn't be a problem. At no point did he mention that this could or would increase the price by more than 2x, if he had, I would've kept my delivery for Friday and rushed my paperwork with the dealership.
On Monday, 2/3/25, the day the car should've been picked up, he began giving me quotes for $1.2k-1.8k because their personal driver, who is significantly cheaper allegedly left two days prior around my original pickup date. I asked Jack for my money back but he refused to give me a refund, although it is explicitly stated in item 15 of their contract "If you cancel your order prior to assignment of a Carrier you will receive a FULL refund of all monies paid to Breamway LLC and no more". He kept urging me to sign with his contractors as we were "hurting their relationship" by having drivers wait on standby for my sign off and he kept insisting that the 1k amount was a "great deal".
On 2/4, Jack put me on a call with the driver from the alleged delivery company whose name was "Shawn" to explain why the 1k price is the best option for me. The actual delivery was made by a different driver, not "Shawn". I'm certain he added a friend or someone else from his company to pretend to be a driver to get my business (which I knew was happening but at this point I just wanted my car). Since I was fed up, I agreed to $975 (total $1131 w/ broker fee vs $614 original agreement) and signed the paperwork.
After agreeing to proceed with shipping, he guaranteed a delivery for Friday 2/7 on the phone, however the following day he emailed me that Friday was merely an estimate and that it is possible that the car would be delivered on Saturday 2/8. I ended up getting the car on Friday but it was extremely frustrating having to scramble to be available for the chance of a Saturday delivery.
Throughout this process of over 50 back and forth emails, Jack continued to explain how he was extremely transparent but that was not even remotely the case. This company did the classic bait and switch. If you ever ship with Breamway, which I don't recommend, don't agree to pay a deposit until they have confirmed proof with drivers on the final price of delivery and that they confirm that the price sheet they've shared with you is not just an estimate. I'll most definitely be filing complaints wherever I can; these bait and switch companies should be held responsible for their dishonest services and should have to provide compensation of the difference between the originally agreed amount vs the final charged price until they learn a lesson in business etiquette. read more
