Saw Heidi earlier this month and the entire experience was amazing! This was my second child but first time breastfeeding, and she was very open and accepting of whatever my goals were. The office was clean and quiet, and we had the room to ourselves for 2 hours as she went over latch, my history, questions I had, correct pump flange sizing, weighing baby, myths, plans moving forward, etc. She gave me so much good information to use and it was a way better experience than I expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was so excited for my appointment to see this doctor because my supply was dropping and needed some extra help so I ended up making an appointment and paying out of pocket for me to only see the doctor but she ended up seeing my baby too which I didn't ask for and felt like she focused on the baby more than me and I felt like it was a waste a time[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], I'm glad other people have had great experiences but I guess it wasn't for me. read more

My consultant was obviously sick. I took my NEWBORN baby here, she was barely 2 weeks at the time. The consultant was wearing a mask but was sniffling and coughing the whole time. I was a brand new mom and in the super fragile stage of postpartum so I didn't speak up immediately. I was extremely uncomfortable with an obviously sick person holding my baby and putting their fingers in her mouth. Regardless of if she wore a mask the proper fit and procedure was not followed, which pretty much renders it useless. As soon as the session was over I broke down sobbing in the car and my mom actually went in and confronted the consultant who was indeed coming off of being sick. If you deal with newborn babies you NEED to disclose this to the parents before the session and give them the option to reschedule. My consultant mentioned testing negative for COVID but we all know that COVID is far from the only threat to a newborn, especially during cold/flu and RSV season. I'm so thankful my baby did not get sick but the carelessness of this individual caused a lot of stress and anxiety for me and my family. We all know that a small cold or fever is an emergency for a newborn. I'm just utterly appalled at the lack of concern for safety. On top of this the session started late and only lasted an hour. read more

What can I say other than Trine at Breast for Baby is quite literally the BEST lactation consultant. She is a treasure of knowledge and has amazing resources to help anyone! I came to her in preparation for having my 5th baby and she gave me information and resources I never knew I needed, even after having breastfed four other kids! After baby was born, I reached out to her with the trouble I was having and she was able to help me even more! What I love most is her very calm, professional manner. Her office is very clean and organized. She has visual aids that are very helpful in learning about latch, tongue and lip ties, and proper positioning for baby. I have recommended Trine to at least two other friends and they have had very similar positive experiences after just their first visits. Anyone can learn something from Trine. It's hard to express how wonderful Trine is. We went in barely able to breast feed due to extreme pain and bleeding. We scheduled a two hour session in which she covered every single aspect of what we need to do including uncovering some mouth defects that our pediatrician had missed. She showed us how to properly feed and we were able to feed without pain during the session. The next day we regressed a little and we were able to send her pictures and she instantly corrected us. I cannot express how valuable she has been to us and our little baby. When I say she's a life saver and a genuinely amazing person, I truly mean it. We saw her as an emergency intervention- I was crying cuz baby would be choking/gagging on milk+be gassy after, it would squirt everywhere, and nothing I was doing was working!! She made time for us for when my husband could come. Most importantly she REALLY spent the time working with my baby. He LOVED her. She is a kind person who clearly loves her job. She did a very full and though assessment. Listened to ALL of our issues and had great advice for us. Baby has been feeding like a pro now -thanks to her care and GREAT detailed care plan. Now not only are we doing our exercises with little baby boy to work on his tung movements but THE same day after his visit he started showing interest in developmental toys like the squish. :) very happy. She also did some PT with him to get him to release the tension in his neck & shoulders (from all the arching due to dealing with my oversupply). read more

So incredibly happy with my experience. My baby and I saw Trine after experiencing a lot of breastfeeding difficulties for 4 weeks. I was told by numerous healthcare professionals in the hospital that my baby didn't have any oral ties despite hearing "clicking" during feedings, incredibly painful breastfeeding sessions, and a lot of trauma in a short period of time. Because of this, I figured it was something I was doing wrong and worked for weeks on improving our latch technique...but it never felt comfortable. I caved and looked into lactation consultants near me and found Trine. She is absolutely the reason why I am still breastfeeding my baby and I wish I would have seen her sooner. During our initial session, I was met with grace and understanding. We discussed what my goals were for feeding and what would be sustainable. Trine spent the entire session assessing our latch, observing the feeding session, correcting alignment, working on areas of tension for baby, assessed oral function, sized for flanges, and more. I gained so much knowledge just from this initial session. I left the session with a sustainable and practical plan to increase my supply, new flanges and spray for our pump sessions, how to help baby with tension, and see if we could improve things before our next visit. At our follow up session, we discovered that my supply had improved, baby had gained a wonderful amount of weight, and received a referral recommendation for getting an oral tie revision. Trine provided me with all the information I needed to set us up for success so we knew what to expect with the process. We continued to see Trine after baby's revision to help him relearn proper oral function. Again, we were sent home with tools to help encourage tongue movement in areas he was struggling in. We are now just shy of 4 months and still going strong with breastfeeding. It's comfortable and sustainable. Not only did Trine fit me into her busy schedule the very same day I contacted her, but she also drove all the way to my house to do a one on one with us that day since I had just delivered and wasn't able to travel to her. Our baby was born late preterm and got off to a delayed start on breastfeeding. We are just past two weeks and started to lose hope as she doesn't want to latch. Trine provided us with an open, no judgement session and shared so much education in a way that wasn't overwhelming. She determined our baby has a tongue tie that is preventing her from properly latching. My husband and I have work to do with our little one to help her overcome this but had we not seen Trine, we might have never known and just threw in the towel at something we really wanted. Trine is a wealth of knowledge and so sweet and personable to boot. I wish I'd had this kind of support with my first child. I met with Trine due to a latch issue that resulted in some pretty terrible pain/injury to my breast. I was terrified to see her, assuming like with my first son she'd make me try holds I didn't feel comfortable with and that I'd just have to tough it out until everyone adjusted. Trine is a phenomenal woman, a remarkable mother, a flawless professional, and an incredible friend. You could not ask for (or get) any more with her. She's just the totally package. A random Facebook moms group referral sent me her way when I was lost in a sea of doctors who weren't knowledgeable enough, not listening, not supportive enough of nursing... and a mother's intuition that was telling me something wasn't right. If it weren't for her, my baby would still be living with her 3 lip ties and tongue tie! Not only did she come to my house quickly to help diagnose the issue, but she hooked me up with some amazing other professionals, was helpful via text anytime I had a panic, attended the revision appointment all the way across town and stayed to help me and my daughter through the procedure that had me terrified, lent me a breast pump and in general completely changed the course of my daughter's life.
