There are not enough amazing things I can say about Michaela. I was stressing out about my little man due to him not gaining weight and I just felt like there was something not right. Being a first time mom, I felt unsure about what is normal and what is not. I thought maybe it was me and that I was not producing so I sought out an LC and found Michaela. Immediately she could tell that he had a tongue and lip tie. She was efficient in her evaluations and practices. More than anything she showed so much care. She would ask for follow up between visits and gave advice and reassurance when I reached out. She worked with me when I had certain issues that would pop up because she wanted to make sure my little man was ok and gaining weight. It was definitely bitter sweet the last visit we had and she said my son was doing great and didn't need to come back. I would recommend her to anyone having lactation concerns. read more

Cannot even express how relieved I feel after a visit from Michaela today! I called her late yesterday and she was able to see me this AM! She is a wealth of knowledge and takes the time to watch, listen and teach! I had SO many questions I didn't even know I had!! I have been struggling with high supply and a baby who is choking, crying, pulling off the boob and getting doused with milk. He also had tung tie at birth. We discussed positioning and not only did my baby feed for a good long while instead of usual short bursts but he was VERY happy and satisfied afterwards! No tummy aches, just happy coos. We may have also discovered the reason for his snoring before his ENT appointment on the 19th! We will see if it's confirmed at that appointment. I am excited to apply the things I learned today. Michaela was a huge support in my breastfeeding journey. She came to my home and provided me a super bill for insurance. She helped us work through tongue and lip ties, severely damaged nipples, latch issues and Raynaud's syndrome. She also helped to identify an airway issue in my baby and pursue an ENT consult even when my pediatrician was dismissive of the symptoms. I'm glad I had her support even when the pediatrician made me feel like I was pushing a non-issue because my baby was diagnosed with laryngomalacia. We are on a maintenance plan for it now until he outgrows it. Thanks in large part to Michaela, I think I will able to achieve my breastfeeding goals. read more

Breastfeeding my newborn is extremely important to me so when searching for a lactation consultant I wanted the best! Luckily I found Michaela as a referral from my doula. I was thrilled to find out she does house calls too. She is phenomenal and even clued me in to my daughter's tongue tie. Calling Michaela after our daughter was born was the best decision we could have made. We had taken Michaela's birthing class through our hospital, which was also excellent, and then found out that she also was an in home lactation consultant by searching our insurance coverage. Our daughter was born under 5th percentile weight and lost a lot after birth while my milk was coming in, plus fairly severe jaundice she was later hospitalized for. The hospital we gave birth at sent us home telling me to start pumping with very little help beyond that of what to do. It was a long weekend, and so we couldn't see our pediatrician right away. I called Michaela for help, and she offered to meet us on the weekend, the very next day, even though it was not a normal day she worked. I am so very thankful we took her up on her offer. She gave us a written plan on a weekly basis for about a month, helping us learn how to make sure our baby girl was getting enough to eat (weighing before and after), providing techniques and tips for latching/feeding, showing me how and when to pump, and getting us to a point where she is healthy at the 16th percentile and exclusively breastmilk fed with minimal pumping required now! She was flexible in her schedule, provided a resource for texting questions between visits, and was very professional. She was also very precise and scientific in her guidance which we appreciated. I don't even want to think about where we would be without her help. I would recommend calling her immediately if you are even on the fence about needing her services. I am so glad we did. read more

I had a great experience with Michaela Zach and have already given her name to two of my friends who had Babies around the same time as me. I called her two days after discharge from hospital, right about the time when I was getting sore and frustrated due to poor latching. She was able to make a next-day appointment and spent over an hour with me. Everyday has gotten better since she was here. Breast feeding is less daunting , scary , and less painful now. To anyone having difficulty with feeding, before giving up please call Michaela. Gain all the information, tools, and tricks that you can before giving up. Michaela was so helpful with building my confidence and comfort level with breastfeeding! As a first time mom I was a little nervous about getting help breastfeeding, especially since my son was gaining weight and eating well, but after a few tear filled nights for both of us my husband convinced me to get help. I am so glad I did! Michaela helped me correct my sons latch so that it was no longer painful and just helped normalize the difficulty of breastfeeding. highly recommend Michaela's lactation consultant services. I was struggling with latch with my 2 week old and contacted Michaela for help. I texted her in the evening and she was able to make an in home visit with us the very next morning. I was at the end of my rope and ready to give up on breastfeeding due to the nipple pain. Michaela did a full consultation, checked for ties, did a weighted feed, and gave advice for healing damaged nipples in addition to teaching correct latch. I had some concerns about my newborn meeting his wet diaper requirements so I was put in touch with Michaela. She was quick to get back to me and get me scheduled for the next day. She thoroughly checked out my little guy to make sure there were no tongue tie issues, answered my questions and offered suggestions and then helped me with getting him properly latched (I thought I had it down when it came to breastfeeding since this was baby #4). We had our first baby and decided earlier on that we were going to breastfeed her! Being a new mom, every breastfeeding informations I was told and shown were overwhelming! We were discharged from the hospital and it seems like we still weren't doing it right! From being tired and restless as new parents, to having severely sore and damage (bleeding) nipples, and fearing that our baby may not be getting the milk supply that she needed! There was a lot of pressure, the thought that her life was on the line, and if we weren't doing it right, we could lose her! Seems dramatic but I was very emotional! Thankfully my husband and I heard about the weekly Dignity Health breastfeeding support group in Gilbert! The group consist of other breastfeeding mothers and a lactation specialist discussing breastfeeding challenges and tips on overcoming them. We met Michaela there and decided to schedule a one on one with her! She came over, evaluated the baby and the breastfeeding. She then guide us through proper latch techniques and gave us items to work on to improve breastfeeding! She was very patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging! Over time and practices, I gain the confidence I needed to feed our babygirl and my nipples no longer bled or hurt! I would recommend this consultation if you may have experience some of the same things. Seek help as needed and it will get better! read more

I wasn't sure I actually needed to see a lactation consultant since I just had my 3rd child. I had done this before without one and figured I was doing just fine until 2 weeks in and my baby wasn't wanting to latch and was screaming and choking every time he would try and eat. He suddenly seemed more fussy and uncomfortable after each feeding and wasn't sleeping as well anymore so I finally decided to get in touch with Michaela after hearing how kind and knowledgeable she was and I'm so glad I did! Turns out what I thought was the perfect latch wasn't even close and she helped me figure out different positions to breastfeed in so my baby wasn't choking and swallowing so much air which is what caused him so much gas and tummy pain. She taught me that there is so much more that goes into breastfeeding than just sticking the baby on and letting them eat!
