She would ask for follow up between visits and gave advice and reassurance when I reached out. She worked with me when I had certain issues that would pop up because she wanted to make sure my little man was ok and gaining weight. It was definitely bitter sweet the last visit we had and she said my son was doing great and didn't need to come back. I would recommend her to anyone having lactation concerns.

I have been struggling with high supply and a baby who is choking, crying, pulling off the boob and getting doused with milk. He also had tung tie at birth. We discussed positioning and not only did my baby feed for a good long while instead of usual short bursts but he was VERY happy and satisfied afterwards! No tummy aches, just happy coos. We may have also discovered the reason for his snoring before his ENT appointment on the 19th! We will see if it's confirmed at that appointment. I am excited to apply the things I learned today. Today I learned that Lactation Consultants are a GODSEND.

Debbie pointed out that the position and suck of baby were a bit strong and showed us how to correct it and gave plenty of tips and advice to make sure baby does not hurt. She also pointed out that the cup size for the pump we were using was too small and also contributing to paint. She is full of tips and little words to remember particular tips. This blows the lactation support received at hospital out of the water. We will use and recommend her again !

Seeing Debbie for a second opinion was such a great next step. Debbie was kind, patient, and thorough in the time she spent with me - an hour and a half. She continued to follow up daily with check in's and phone calls, that never felt rushed. She calmed me from a state of new-mom doom and gloom failure, to someone with real hope and control of the situation. Debbie is not a pusher of one specific way. She believes in all routes to provide nutrition for your child. She doesn't make you feel bad for needing to supplement with formula. I've sincerely loved my time spent with Debbie. I would highly recommend her.

I have been telling every friend and provider I can about her. Trine is the IBCLC I wish I had found with my first child and I'm so thankful I've found her now. Her office space is welcoming, clean, easy to access, and conducive to the work she does. She explains everything she is doing and empowers caregivers to learn what she is doing with your baby so you can take it home and feel confident. She gives so much information, but don't worry, she knows that postpartum caregivers have so much on their minds so she doesn't expect you to remember every single thing she says. Her way to support you is to provide a detailed but succinct visit note in a timely manner after your visit. She encourages you to ask questions and no question is silly. She also is very understanding if you walk into your appointment and your baby immediately has a massive diaper blowout. Ask me how I know. I highly recommend Trine to anyone needing this type of support.

That being said, there are a few things I've reflected on from my time at Blossom and I have recalled a couple experiences that left me feeling uncertain and hurt. I had desired to reduce ultrasound exposure to my baby as much as possible, so I had agreed to the 20wk anatomy scan and a position check around 30wks. I requested that the fetoscope be used rather than Doppler and that no other unnecessary ultrasounds be done. I met HEAVY resistance to this request from each midwife, but particularly from Kassie who pushed my boundaries in an unprofessional way and she came off very judgmental. Rather than explaining risks AND benefits, I felt ostracized, especially when I said "is this okay" and Kassie said "well, no", but with NO ability to explain ultrasound risks to me in an articulate or evidence-based way. I truly am sharing this experience to help Blossom consider a different way to approach something like this if it arises in the future. I ended up having a hospital birth with Kassie and she truly was an amazing midwife, so supportive and a great advocate. One other issue was that after my birth my placenta was sent to pathology because of some concerns about it. Chynna told me about this in my postpartum checkup, but I was never given the report to look over for myself, and she had said that Dr. Nichelle would reach out to me via phone call to review it which didn't happen. Dr. Nichelle was also incredible during my birth and I'm thankful for her care. Again, my perinatal care from Blossom overall was excellent and I wish I had been proactive to address these issues with the midwives in person, but I also feel that it is good to share my experiences for others to know what care is like at Blossom. I do truly believe that each of these midwives care about you and your baby's safety and desire for you to have the birth you want! There is certainly more freedom in your care here than at a hospital! Thank you to my midwives and to Blossom for my experience. I look back on it fondly.

I was called fat, then told because I lost maybe 3lbs I needed to count all my calories (I did the one week but then they wanted more). My weight was apparently a big deal to them after the fact the had called me fat. They also made a big deal about my car breaking down when it no way affected them or my appointments with them

This is my 2nd experience with Dr Cara- I had my own toes revised at her office and was super…read moreimpressed. I decided to bring my 2nd baby to her for eval and released. With this being my 2nd baby I didn't expect to need much support beyond the tie revisions and wound checks. Boy was I wrong Emily, Dr Cara, and rest of the staff were amazing and I would have given up on breastfeeding if it wasn't for all their support and encouragement. Matter of fact when baby wasn't gaining I told Emily I was just going to give her formula and her kindness and words of encouragement kept me moving along. I got a clog right a week after delivery and literally tried everything to get it out, unfortunately nothing worked and it developed into mastitis, we tried all the other things at the office (ultrasound, hospital grade pump, castor oil, sunflower lecithin) and 3 antibiotics with no luck. Dr Cara worked with her network to get me seen ASAP for aspiration which unfortunately made things worse because we found out after cultures came back I had MRSA infection and it just spread i. The next morning I contacted Emily and Dr Cara and they helped me get into a great breast specialist the next day. I definitely needed it and after they drained out much of the infection (and put in a drain) I felt much better. It's seriously been a traumatic birth and first month so their kindness, professionalism, knowledge and quick help was so appreciated. I'd recommend anyone to see them for any lactation/breastfeeding help/support needed.

They then referred me to a chiropractor for my baby (what?!). I know there are lots of woo-woo chiropractors out there so I wrote and asked if the provider was vaccinated. Jenny Dubisar of Expressions of Life Chiropractic is not Covid vaccinatined and is performing work on newborn infants. Now I wonder is AZ Breastfeeding staff is vaccinated and I'm kicking myself for not asking. Lastly their website said my insurance plan would cover services it did not, and their partner Expressions of Life is threatening me with cancellation fees for her lack of vaccination. Essentially punishing me for not wanting to put my babies life at risk. Again, if you don't care about science this is the place for you.

I actually had no plans to have a doula for my first pregnancy…read moreuntil I was at a birthing class and found out that I was one of the only ones there who hadn't secured a doula. After doing some research, I found that my insurance covered doula services, so I immediately began researching doulas. I came across Noleen and noticed her across the board 5 star reviews. At this point, I was 36 weeks pregnant and thought "There is no way this woman is going to be available for my delivery." I reached out to her on a Friday night and she responded back within a few hours! We briefly corresponded over the weekend and had a meeting set up for the next week. I'm SO grateful she was available. I enjoyed learning from her and hearing her balanced perspective about labor and delivery. It quickly became apparent that as a woman going through all of this the first time, having a doula was a must! By the time I went into labor a few weeks later, I texted Noleen, who was in labor with another patient. I was heartbroken to think she may miss my labor. She was able to send a backup doula to my birthing center, but that was only needed for a few hours before Noleen went from her other labor into mine (with maybe a few hours rest in between). Noleen showed up in the morning on a Tuesday and my baby wasn't born until the following day (Wednesday) at 9:23am. So to think Noleen went from one labor to the next with very minimal rest shows that she is superwoman! My labor wasn't an easy one and I REALLY struggled to relax and just allow everything to loosen up. I would get so tense, which ended up prolonging labor to the point where I requested to be transferred from the Birthing Center to a hospital so that I could get an epidural. I was scared that Noleen, my birthing team and my spouse would be disappointed in me, but Noleen was so reassuring that this was the right move for me. I felt supported and understood. There were many moments in the labor where it was so helpful to have Noleen there to answer questions, provide perspective and expertise. Which was incredibly helpful for my spouse as well. It felt like he and Noleen were partners in the birthing process. It's now something I tell all expecting couples is that the Doula is there for the husband just as much as she's there for the wife. My husband really appreciated having her there to ask questions (and vent about the prolonged process!). I also got the package with the photography and the photos Noleen took are so very special to us. It's actually hard to narrow down which ones to frame. There is one that Noleen captured of my husband crying immediately after the baby was born. It's something I didn't notice or even see because I was so focused on the baby. But every time I see that picture, I tear up (currently tearing up as I'm writing this!). I never would have known that moment even existed without Noleen capturing it! We also had her do the postpartum visit with photos and I've sent them to so many family members and they all agree that Noleen did a fantastic job! I could go on and on, but I want others to read this, so I don't want to be too lengthy :). I will definitely be reaching out to Noleen as soon as I find out I'm pregnant with baby #2 (God willing!).

She is so knowledgeable and helped me with my nipple pain, helped me practice nursing positions, and measured my falange size for a comfortable pumping experience. But most of all she gave me so much confidence. I'm so thankful for the amount of times she paused to tell me, "Wow. You are such a good mom." I needed that just as much as all the practical knowledge she shared with me. I'm really blessed that she was a part of me and my baby's nursing journey. A dentist come to the office & used a laser to "clip" them which helped with the latch & milk transfer. Dana was great! She was more concerned & caring about baby & I than even my pediatrician!

I ended up seeing Kenzie for most of my prenatal visits--and was so sad when I found out she was moving because she truly made my experience so great while she was my midwife. So caring, great at explaining my options and helping me decide through the fear of making the "right" choice for myself and baby. I saw Dr. Hervey for an ECV since our stubborn girl was breech and all the natural tricks didn't entice her to flip. That experience was great as well. He has such a calm confident demeanor and was very informative of any risks and the likelihood of those happening. Best thing I heard from him was that his whole goal was for me to be able to walk out of that procedure to be able to have the birth that I wanted so he'd do everything he could to make sure we both stayed safe. Since Kenzie ended up moving, I had the opportunity to see midwives Whitney and Traci. Again both were absolutely incredible. So calm, patient and informative about options and their medical opinions. Nobody ever forced me to do anything I didn't explicitly want to or agree to do. I got to see Dr. Merrell for one prenatal visit and he was so kind, caring and informative. Traci started my induction and was wonderful through that whole experience. I was lucky enough to have Dr. A deliver our sweet girl, and no surprise here she was another incredible provider who was truly there for me and my desires all while keeping both me and baby girl safe. Super long updated review to say there isn't a provider I interacted with during this process that I wouldn't highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Dr. Hervey has done an amazing job building an incredible practice with the best of the best when it comes to providers. 100/10 recommend.

I switched to Premier OB based on my doula's recommendation specifically to work with Michelle…read moreDavis because I wanted a supported, low-intervention birth. I came in with clear birth preferences and a lot of trust in this practice. That trust was completely broken. My labor experience was disorganized and distressing. The nurses struggled to get in contact with Michelle, and I labored for an extended period without my provider present until it was finally time to push. While I understand that birth can be unpredictable, I ended up experiencing nearly every intervention I had hoped to avoid. More importantly, I did not feel heard, respected, or advocated for at any point. The most alarming part of my experience was postpartum care. I experienced severe postpartum mental health symptoms and did not receive appropriate support, guidance, or urgency from Michelle or the office. Honestly, I didn't even felt believed. My condition escalated to the point where I was nearly in psychosis and close to taking my own life. That level of crisis requires immediate, competent care, and it simply was not there. Communication with this office is extremely poor and, frankly, unsafe. Calls go unanswered, messages are not returned, and I have been unable to get responses even for critical needs like short-term disability paperwork. At times, it has genuinely felt like I was being ignored or blocked, which is unacceptable in any medical setting--especially postpartum. I ultimately sought care from another OB, who informed me that my tear had not been properly repaired. This added unnecessary physical trauma on top of an already deeply distressing experience. To be fair, I did have positive interactions with Dr. Hervey and Dr. Merrill, who both seemed competent and compassionate, as well as a few kind nurses plus Melissa and Carrie. However, those isolated experiences do not make up for the overall lack of care, responsiveness, and accountability I experienced. I made the decision to switch to Premier OB based on a trusted recommendation, hoping for better, more supportive care. Instead, I left with trauma, complications, and a complete loss of trust in this practice.
