Almost everything covered in this class can be found online, making it feel like a poor investment of both time and money

My husband and I took the virtual Quick Childbirth class, offered by Breastfeeding Success, and linked to via our hospital's website. We went into the class feeling pretty calm and prepared, knowing we have a great medical team and that with our first child we'd be leaning heavily on their experience and expertise. The class was longer than necessary, with the instructor meandering through topics that are no longer relevant (what the precautions and rules were at hospitals during the height of the COVID pandemic) and showed videos with outdated information (a 'light' epidural being an option at the hospital). Within the 4 hour class, only about 30 minutes was new information that we didn't already have, and was beneficial. We left the class with so little helpful information; feeling confused, frustrated, and scared about our upcoming labor and delivery experience. We ended up finding an 'on-demand' class series to take instead, and canceled our two upcoming classes with Breastfeeding Success. This was such a disappointing process that made us feel so unsure and confused, and we didn't want to risk any of the other classes providing us the same low level of benefit. Unfortunately, I can't recommend their classes. read more

After three sessions with Breastfeeding Success we were able to switch to exclusively breastfeeding and reduce the duration of each feeding to under 30 minutes vs it taking 2+ hours of constant on/off stretches. Baby's weight is now around 70%, and she is still gaining weight at a healthy range and sleeping through the night at three months old. I cannot thank Janet enough!!! read more

My husband and I recently gave birth to our son Lucas. Our son was diagnosed and had a small procedure to address a tongue tie, which made breastfeeding very painful for me. We reached out to Breastfeeding Success to schedule asap to get support with this. I was able to get a next day appointment and submitted a few forms prior to the appointment. The LC we met with was great with our son and at providing input for me. I didn't feel uncomfortable and was able to apply her advice as soon as I got home. Def recommend this practice for the quality of care and the efficient communication. read more

We had an excellent experience with Mandy as our lactation consultant. She first visited us in the hospital, and we later had an appointment at the Breastfeeding Success office in South Austin. On both of these visits she set us at ease right away and gave us loads of useful information. She struck me as engaged, intelligent, warm, with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things breastfeeding related. I would recommend her to anyone, in fact I have already recommended her to a couple friends. Also, the Breastfeeding Success office we visited was very nicely appointed; it was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated. It also had a very nice, welcoming vibe. They also had a streamlined online portal, which was easy to use. The system even managed to pick up information from when we were in the hospital, which is a unique experience (usually I figure that any sort of medical care involves filling out the same form at least three times--not in this case). read more

I only have My Pure Delivery to compare this establishment to, but between the two I found the competitor to be a much better value, and a better experience. I was able to get really great customer service from the proprietor, Janet and the office manager, Jessica, especially in the beginning. We had lots of questions about insurance reimbursement, and scheduling. When we couldn't get into see a consultant at this place, My Pure Delivery was recommended by Janet, and we were able to be seen there. I appreciated that. My consultation with the actual consultant Mandi, left something to be desired. She was a little too no-nonsense and cold for my taste. She was also my breast-feeding consultant in the hospital, as well, and I guess we just never clicked. Benefits of this establishment is that they rent hospital-grade breastmilk pumps, and their prices are a little bit better than My Pure Delivery. For example, the pump from them is $75 instead of $80, and the follow up appointment is $75, instead of $115. That said, I feel like I got much better service from My Pure Delivery. The other thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the return of the hospital grade pump. The email that stated that I would be charged again didn't provide information about how to return the pump, and so it ended up being a big hassle returning it to the hospital during business hours when no one was there to receive it. If you're looking for a breast-feeding consultation in the Austin area, I'd recommend schlepping up to Cedar Park. read more

This company saved my chances of breastfeeding. The professionalism and support that exists here is something every woman should take advantage of if they are able to. I saw Kristine Kovach, and she is AMAZING. I single handedly owe my current ability to feed my son to her. Her expert techniques, patience, kindness, and knowledge was not something that I believe you can find anywhere else. Thank you so much BSC. I know they are about to expand to a larger practice with more rooms and more space. Can't wait to visit. I really hope they do more for moms so that I can keep going and keep in touch with them. Written words cannot express how grateful I am to Breastfeeding Success. I received 3+ months of consultations and support and would not be where I am now (with a 5 month old that is exclusively breastfeeding) without them. I had so many issues with breastfeeding from the moment my little one was born. From problems with latching, to supply and to baby not wanting the nipple later on and thanks to Naya, the most amazing lactation consultant, I was able to make my dream of breastfeeding a reality. Extremely disappointing experience. My baby needed to gain weight so I visited in the hope of obtaining some support, strategies and a feeding schedule. The lactation consultant I met with was cold, insensitive and lacked the care and bedside manner you would expect for a business that is supposed to support women in the most sensitive postpartum period. She actually told me she was "worried" about my milk supply - which is the last thing a new mother wants to hear. There is a way of communicating that message without using such severe language. The feeding plan she put me on yielded no results and was extremely stressful to manage. After two visits, I vowed never to return because each time I left I broke down in tears and felt like a complete failure. Made an appointment at My Pure Delivery and my experience was a complete 180. They were caring, supportive, and thoughtful. Most importantly, my baby gained plenty of weight and my milk supply is increasing. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!!!Instead, visit My Pure Delivery. read more

If you're in Austin and are needing lactation support I highly recommend Breastfeeding Success! I had such a positive experience here. They helped me work through latch issues, increasing my supply, and feeling supported when I needed to supplement. They are very positive and supportive and will provide a lot of education. They have great handouts and resources and are quick to return phone calls/emails to help you trouble shoot issues. They also offer some great classes - I loved the infant massage class. And have a free weekly lactation support group. This company really has the best interests of its clients in mind and you can feel it! read more

From my first step in the door the lady who asked if I could be helped looked at me as if I was a creature from an entirely different planet. Odd, given this should be a very welcoming support center from the minute you walk in the door. The first nursing room I was lead into was in complete disarray, as if the room was currently being occupied by someone. It was obvious the room had not been cleaned since the last client. When Janet walked in she didn't introduce herself, I made the assumption it was her, she didn't acknowledge my daughter. She jumped right into the session. The session itself was okay, definitely not what I expected given the nature of the business. Janet herself wasn't overly friendly or welcoming. 2 hours and 5 minutes in at the end of our session Janet, says " what's your baby's name? " Well she might have known that through one of two ways: 1) properly greeting your clients 2) reading the documents that I spent 15 minutes filling out which include her name, DOB and every possible probing question about her from birth on. The cake topper to the awkwardness was when she proceeded to take out the diaper pail of trash and left me on the sofa until she popped her head back in the room and said, " I'm gonna take the trash outside...bye " which was my cue to get my things and leave. I gathered my daughter, the carseat, diaper bag, breast pump bag and proceeded to escort myself out the door. Not even a thank you for coming, let me get the door for you. The entire experience left me feeling strange and stratching my head. Needless to say I have found a wonderful LC, Becca with My Pure Delivery in Cedar Park...well worth the drive. read more

I literally do not have enough positive words to say about my experience at the breastfeeding success. I called in crying due to my difficult experience with BF my baby as a first time mom. The manager went out of her way to squeeze me in to see a consultant when they were already fully booked to accommodate me. When I went in for my appointment I met with Naya who is literally an angel sent down from the heavens. She was incredibly professional, intelligent, and full of wisdom. My experience exceeded all my expectations and I left feeling relieved and so happy to have gone to seek help for my breastfeeding journey. Please don't hesitate to go seek help, even if it's to receive peace of mind that you're doing the right thing for your baby. I highly recommend this company and request Naya if you can!! read more

I unfortunately did not have a great experience here. Everyone was very nice and the office was very accommodating in getting me scheduled quickly, but I did not find my appointment helpful at all. My number one goal was fixing my baby's painful latch and I did not learn any new techniques or positions to improve her latch and left with just as much pain when feeding as walking in. We did do a weighted feed where I learned my daughter was not transferring milk well (likely due to her extremely painful latch) but that is all I learned from the appointment. For the cost of the initial appointment, I was hoping to leave with suggestions for improving her latch and decreasing my pain, but that was not the case. read more

I want to thank Breastfeeding Success Company, especially Naya. She helped so much to succeed in breastfeeding and being a good parent as well. It's not a secret that breastfeeding is the best way to support your baby, especially in the early days. But why something that is so natural can be so challenging? Highly recommend giving them a call if you feel you need help with breastfeeding. This was my first baby, and I wasn't sure if I just wasn't doing things right, or if something was wrong with me. I had an LC come by in the hospital but she improperly diagnosed my situation and suggested measures that were ultimately not enough. My baby began to lose weight and require formula the first few days after coming home. I hesitated to ask for more LC help because I thought I would have to wait a long time to get an appointment but Lauren was able to make a house call within a day. I was so glad that I asked for help. By that point I was in a pretty bad situation, and long story short, if I hadn't had Lauren come over I would have probably lost my supply. Lauren was so calming and encouraging and did not make me feel ashamed or as if this was my fault. It was so validating to realize that breastfeeding is a skill that is taught and learned, after being so hard on myself when all I would hear was other women say that this is something that happens naturally. I saw Lauren a total of 5-6 times? A few house calls and I saw Janet once when I had an urgent thing. By the end I had enough milk, my baby was able to nurse on her own, and now she's a champ and I forget how far we've come. Ooh and all my sessions were covered by insurance. read more

I highly recommend giving them a call if you are having any concerns with breastfeeding. I was having trouble with my third baby when she was a week old and I found BF Success online. Janet was able to come to my home within a couple of days. She was amazing. Not only did she correct the latch issue but she also did a weight feed. This helped to reassure me that my baby was eating enough. She also said that she thought my daughter might have GERD (which I had never heard of) and that I should talk to her doctor. Janet was right and we were able to get her on some meds. I had a separate issue (GERD related) at 3 months PP and called Janet again. She came to my home and taught me a new feeding position that would fix this new problem. A month later we are doing great. As a BIG plus- they are now covered as in network with my insurance so I paid zero for the second visit. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My daughter had dropped 11% below birth weight in 5 days. It was very scary and as a new, first time mom I felt very overwhelmed. I had a LC at the hospital but she was very technical, impersonal and made me feel like I was doing everything wrong (she even said "I'm really good at this" when we were having latching issues, insinuating that I was doing everything wrong"). I was hesitant at first to see someone as breastfeeding seems like it should be so natural, but between very little sleep and the fact that we were still having trouble latching we reached out to Breastfeeding Solutions Co. Naya was extremely sweet and personable from the get go. She made me feel comfortable and that I wasn't alone in my problems. She asked a lot of questions to get at the root of the problem. She showed me new techniques and offered me a nipple shield to help my daughter latch (she's an impatient eater!). In addition she gave me pointers to care for nipples to ensure I didn't get infections and was more comfortable nursing. She also sent detailed notes of our appointment to me and my pediatrician with her recommendations so I didn't have to remember everything we talked about. At 2 weeks and 1 day my daughter is now 4oz over her birth weight! My pediatrician was extremely pleased at our progress. I am sleeping better and am so much less stressed now that my daughter is thriving. I'm so glad I went to Naya and her company. I would recommend her to anyone who has any concerns about their baby eating enough. You are not alone and will feel so much better with some help. Thank you Naya!!! read more

Had a great visit with Naya. She was very helpful and informative. It was nice to get hands on breast feeding help and have his weight checked while doing it to see how much he actually got. We had a great talk, got lots of tips and she quickly sent a very detailed post meeting wrap up to me. It was a detailed list of what we discussed and a recommended plan. Ultimately, I decided exclusive pumping was a better fit for me. When I emailed Naya, she also offered support in that realm should I need it. read more

Im so thankful the pediatrician at Seton recommended I call The Breastfeeding Success Company! I had to supplement with donor milk in the hospital because my baby had low blood sugar levels so our breastfeeding journey started out tough. As soon as I got home I called them and Janet set me up with an appointment at my house when my son was 5 days old. Naya came to the rescue and helped us so much! She set me up with a great schedule of breastfeeding, pumping and bottle feeding when necessary and helped me get him on track until his two week checkup. I had horrible clogged ducts and thrush, and she was there at anytime to help me via phone or email. I literally don't know how I would have got through it without her support. However, my little daughter's lips were turning in and her latch was so tight, I was in pain, sleep deprived and frustrated, uncertain of what to do. The promptness and accessibility of this company is unparallelled. When you are trying to feed your tiny infant, you need encouragement and support that is immediate. Lauren brought a scale to weigh the baby after a feeding so we could see that she was getting enough to eat. We talked about how to treat the nipples before and after feedings and she assisted me in finding the most comfortable positions that would alleviate back and shoulder pain. Our instructor, Michelle, was very thorough and personable despite it being a virtual setting-- it was probably the best preparation course we have taken! The BF Success Company was my life raft when I got home after delivering my first child and she wasn't breastfeeding well and was losing weight. The LCs I worked with were knowledgeable, understanding, and experienced. They're not judgmental and are open to working with whatever mom's breastfeeding goals are. The clinic is beautifully decorated to feel soft, cozy, and relaxing, so you feel totally comfortable and at ease in what could be a stressful situation. Kristine is my hero! I had mastitis and after taking bad advice from my OB it got much worse. My sister had seen Kristine 2 years ago for other breastfeeding issues and recommended that I see her. With Covid and a newborn it was really convenient doing a telemed visit. Kristine is wonderful and fixed my issues right up. My only regret is not calling her much sooner. She gave me so much useful information and then emailed me all of the notes from our visit which was super helpful. A week after our call I had a little issue and called the office. Ladies... I highly recommend The Breastfeeding Success Company for lactation consultants. We had Lauren Reyes come do a home visit this morning and I got way more out of it than I expected. She helped us get our latch right, weighed baby to see how much milk she was getting, gave me tips on safe breastfeeding positions laying down, and taught me how to better pain manage a milk bleb. She was so helpful. I feel like I learned a lot today and it really helped my confidence. Also, if you have insurance, most plans cover up to 6 consultations! I highly recommend Lauren and Kristine. The only reason we are able to breastfeed our baby is because of breastfeeding success company. I had an easy pregnancy and natural birth, I would have never in my dreams thought that breastfeeding would be such a struggle. Unfortunately the hospital I gave birth at did not provide good lactation support. In spite of taking breastfeeding classes prior to delivery, being first time parents and very bad lactation support from the hospital really hurt us. Our baby was formula fed for first 48 hrs in hospital and I could not breastfeed her. After discharge we did not have any luck with breast feeding. All this resulted in severe breast engorgement issues and infection. Also I was not bonding with my baby and was dreading breast feeding due to severe pain. My insurance company referred me to BreastFeeding Success company. Just from our first visit we got all the support and encouragement needed. Lauren gave us so much confidence with all her knowledge. She listens, supports and offers guidance. We were taken very good care of and I looked forward to seeing Lauren's face on our follow ups. Making you feel like this post partrum and esp for sleep deprived parents is awesome. Kristine other LC at BFS company is amazing as well. She is the reason I powered through my most painful phase. Amazing is the only word I can use to describe the breastfeeding success. While at Seton after the birth of my son, I was lucky enough to see multiple lactation consultant's that are employed by breastfeeding success. Each one of them made my experience better and better. Upon leaving the hospital, I made an appointment to be seen to check my supply and to see how much milk my son was actually able to take at each feeding. Lauren who is one of the owners was who I was able to see. She was beyond wonderful! From day one she filled me with knowledge and had a very calm demeanor that I found very reassuring while at the appointments. Each time you take your child and you're able to work on technique, she assists with weighing them before and after so that you know exactly how much they're getting. Lauren seems to have the answers to any questions you could have and she's awesome to just talk to about anything breastfeeding related. The confidence I got from going was exactly what I needed to power through the really difficult times. She is available all the time if you need to ask a quick question she's happy to reply via text or phone call. With our next child even if I don't have any issues, I'll be making an appointment here again, if not just to say hi and catch up, but to just feel like everything is going well. Lauren Reyes is awesome! She taught my breastfeeding class at St David's North and I called her when I needed an LC. She's incredibly knowledgeable, she will come to your home to help you and she doesn't ever make you feel rushed! If you're having a hard time, she will make you feel like her most important client: I had 2 appointments with her and for both she came by within 24-48 hours of my call. If it wasn't for her, I may have given up on breastfeeding. I had horrible mastitis and I was over producing. She showed me techniques for helping rid my body of the mastitis and techniques for helping me breastfeed comfortably and without my daughter getting so much at once that she spit up all over.
