Enter our second child, Luca. We followed Taking Cara Babies and for the first couple months of his life that worked just fine. And then he went through the dreaded sleep regression at 4 months and our lives flipped upside down. Taking Cara Babies and all the IG sleep resources could not help us. We needed a professional. We purchased the "Help! I'm Drowning!" package because Luca was waking up every 2 hours and would only go back to sleep if he was nursing. He only took cat naps and was really struggling. I tried everything and nothing would work. Bethany came in and did a full assessment, gave us a sleep plan and scheduled our in home dates. She did 3 overnights and by night 3 Luca was sleeping through the night. She saw Luca's struggles and personalized her sleep training for him. I love that she sees each child for their own self. Her solution is not a one size fits all like the other generic sleep resources. Luca now sleeps 7pm-7am and has a solid nap schedule. I cannot recommend Bethany enough. My husband, having 2 kids in a previous marriage, said he didn't realize how much he didn't know & how much more he could've done to be more supportive through his other children's births. Per my need for a consult I contacted Ms. Ellision to set up an appointment and informed her that I would be submitting her invoice to my insurance for a medical claim (lactation consult). Ms. Ellison provided me a consult at my house on October 7th and informed me that she would email me an invoice for the $150.00 (paid by check) I paid to her for her consult. Through multiple phone texts (between October 7th and 20th) I was told that she was working on my invoice. On October 21st (after following up for my invoice) I received a text from her stating the following: " You wont be able to file with your insurance, because I do not have a tax ID for my business because it does not generate enough income to be eligible. My practice is very small and casual. I have never provided an invoice before. I will not spend more time creating another form." Regardless, of what is or is not submitted to the insurance. It seems unethical and unlawful to be charging $150.00 for a lactation consult and not be providing an invoice or proper documentation of the health services provided by her. In addition under ACA (Affordable Care Act) law my consult would be covered by my insurance, but an invoice is required for a claim to be submitted. Please note that I contacted the President of http://keepaustinbreastfeeding.org/resources/lactation-consultants and Ms. Ellison's information was immediately removed due to unethical concerns and additional complaints. *** I would also like to note that Ms. Ellison's services were of concern. She did not arrive with an infant scale for a weight check/oz feeding check nor provide proper health documentation. In addition Ms. Ellison's ability to reach a resolution was very unprofessional and rude. I HIGHLY recommend LC Janet Jones or LC Kristine Keller. I worked with both of these lactation consultants and was extremely happy with their professionalism.

By far and hands down my last birth with Sisters Midwifery was the best prenatal, birthing and post natal experience I have had. I felt totally taken care of by Illysa and Christy and when it was time for the birth, I was totally confident that Illysa, my midwife attending the birth, was completely prepared and focused and there for me. She was super supportive and allowed everything to happen at a very natural pace - she also was very professional and really had my best medical interests in mind as well. She was so attentive and in tune with the birthing process. I felt so well attended to in my post partum time. I never had that type of attention given at my previous birthing experiences to my post-partum care. I was checked on and cared for both physically and emotionally. Nursing has been anything but easy, and because our daughter is so tiny I have felt nothing but pressure for her to gain weight as quickly as possible... very difficult when breastfeeding is proving difficult. The onset of vasospasms so painful that it felt like a cigarette burning me straight through to my shoulder blade finally led me to make an appointment with My Pure Delivery. First of all, it was not covered by my insurance because Blue Cross Blue Shield sucks. But every dollar I paid out of pocket was worth the time they spent with me to ensure I felt comfortable utilizing the strategies they helped me master with their help. Additionally, they allowed me to come back periodically to weigh her at no additional cost so that we could monitor her weight without paying for yet another doctor's visit. In the beginning we thought it started because he began first grade in a new school and maybe he was nervous.
