I concur with the short, positive reviews listed here, but if you want a little more background, read on... I initially considered the "do-it-yourself" route by renting a Rug Doctor machine (and all that comes with that... buying the carpet cleaner shampoo, pretreatment chemicals, extra-charges, the time to do the work, transport equipment, etc.), and even asked friends for their feedback on this process. Bottom-line, I didn't have to time nor the complete confidence of getting professional results by doing it myself. After careful on-line research to check on companies and related reviews, I decided on Breathe Easy which turned out to be the best choice. Doug is the Owner of this family-run business and along with his wife, Laura (via initial phone call), they made this experience very pleasant. Yes, their website has much info and pic's, but it was the honest, sincere approach of being able to ask several questions upfront without being rushed that had me commit to an appointment, which was done one week in advance. Other reviews have echoed the same, and the price point in my case was VERY reasonable for cleaning 4 std-size rooms and a staircase; the price was even lower than some of those alleged "special coupons" you receive in the mail. A little extra-effort on some misc. areas came at no-extra charge! per Doug, who performed the actual cleaning. The process took 2 hours that started @ 9 AM and carpeting was dry by that early evening (had the A/C on). It helps tremendously to have your items out of the way, including tieing-up low, hanging draperies. I did have three large units which I could not move (china cabinet, piano, office desk) which was no issue as the carpeting around these areas was done carefully. Yes, there are various carpet types to consider so feel free to inquire ahead of time. My home has the usual beige, builder-installed carpet grade, which looked new again after 9 years, including two kids and two dogs! During the actual cleaning, I was able to follow Doug around and ask questions as needed. FYI, he will need a sink to fill-up his machine (he uses a 5 gal bucket he brings) and has a wand tool when cleaning the hard-to-reach areas and stairways. Refused water will be flushed down your toilet. The noise-level was like that of a large,shop vacuum-cleaner. No issues for me. Modestly, we keep our home clean and recognized we still needed to get the carpet cleaned sooner. This review is long overdue! I purchased a foreclosure that sat empty for about 2 years. The carpet in the basement was soooo musty and dirty. After a very disappointing experience with a different carpet cleaning service (a Groupon "deal"; they never even bothered showing up), I decided to just call a place with good reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I did. Doug showed up exactly on time, did an incredibly thorough job, and left my carpet looking _better than I have ever seen it_ - including when I first moved in several years ago. There were a few stains I had made vain attempts at removing in the past with a lot of scrubbing and Resolve - they are now finally gone. I can't be sure, but his machine might actually run on magic. Found Breathe Easy through yelp. Although there aren't that many reviews, it seemed like it was worth taking a shot. I let my wife set up the appointment, and of course she decided 8am on Saturday is the best. Doug showed up on time by himself and got all of his gear setup fairly quickly. He is an amicable fellow and is easy to talk to. I had no problems asking him questions as he went through the motions. He did a quick walk through of all the rooms and asked us about any specific spots we were looking at. We had moved most of the furniture but there were some things left. Doug had no problems moving them around and putting them back. All of this, and he never added to the price that he initially quoted. A few things that really set him apart in my opinion: He painstakingly cleaned the stairs thoroughly. Let's be honest, we all tend to gloss over the stairs especially the vertical portion when we are cleaning or vacuuming on our own. It was nice to see him take care of that. He showed us certain spots so we could see the magic firsthand. There was a weird stain of wine or something under our couch, maybe from our housewarming party a year ago. He went over it with a few passes and it was gone. Then he showed us how much cat hair was picked up under the couch, which is a popular hangout spot for the cats. I didn't even realize how dirty it was down there. I highly recommend Breath Easy. It turns out he will even go out further than his boundaries (I was right on the boundary according to yelp.) I hope he is ok with me saying this, but if you live outside the boundary, give him a call anyway, you never know he might be willing to make a trip out and give your carpets a nice clean. I guess there are also different options of "clean" so maybe inquire about those when you call. I'll be calling him back again. Now if I can find a good vent duct cleaner I'll be set lol. read more

We were quoted a price cheaper than the big competitors and when he came in to do the carpets, he actually decreased the price due to the size of the area rug. Doug was great to work with, and our carpets look like new! My husband and I just bought our first home, and the carpets were not exactly clean. There were some random stains here and there, and some pretty nasty soot stains along the perimeter of the rooms where the previous owners used to burn tons of incense. Well this is a little delayed... Sorry Doug! I gave Breathe Easy a call mid-July to have a carpet cleaning done on the upper level of the house that my husband & I just purchased. The previous owners had two cats and a dog and I was really concerned about the yellow stains that were there and the possibility that my two dogs would want to mark their territory. So when I called and spoke with his wife to set up our appointment, I was sure to have a de-odorizer/pet stain treatment ordered. This review is long overdue. We hired Breath Easy Carpet Cleaning a little over a year ago to clean the carpets for a foreclosure we purchased with nasty carpets. I am still telling people about the fantastic service we received. The appointment was easy to set up. Doug spent all day working on our carpets trying to get them as clean as he could. I was at work, and expected him to be done by the time I got home, but he was still there because he was committed to getting the carpets as clean as possible. To make a long story short, our first week of new home ownership was basically a complete nightmare and Doug and his company were the only positive experience we had to cling to during that time. Instead of charging us extra for the extended time, effort and cleaning supplies he used on our carpets, he ripped up our check and refused to take our money because he didn't feel totally satisfied with the results and he sympathized for our horrific experience he witnessed with the other service provided. I called Breathe Easy a couple of months ago to come clean our carpets after 2.5 years of living in a townhome rental with my 3 young children, ages 5, 2, and 11 months. Lora was very pleasant to schedule with. Doug came out on time, and my mom said he was so friendly, she could have talked with him all day long. The carpets were beautifully cleaned...and we had berber carpet in the living room. Not the easiest stuff to make look new again, but Doug pulled it off. My landlord even wanted to know which carpet cleaner we used because he could never get a stain out of a well-walked-worn area of the carpet. After using a big name carpet cleaning service for years and being increasingly disappointed, I decided it was time to look elsewhere. So I came to Yelp and that's how I found Doug. Overall, it was five stars from start to finish. My call was promptly returned by Doug's efficient wife Laura who got me an appointment quickly after services were explained and prices were quoted. I was glad to hear that I didn't need to move much; just the knickknacks. Doug called me to let me know of the exact arrival time the morning of my appointment. I appreciated that, as well. We were off to a great start! Once he arrived, we did a walk-through together so I'd have the opportunity to point things out and so he could explain the process. My biggest concern: I have two dogs who love to chase each other in the backyard but then run through my family room before I realize they have mud on their paws. While I always try to get up the stains, it isn't always perfect so there was an obvious traffic pattern. Doug seemed to take it all in stride. He moved what he needed to and got started. And wow, were the results fantastic! Not only was the carpet clean, it looked brand new! Stains were gone! Traffic patterns were gone! Areas that were depressed were lifted! My husband and I were amazed. I was certain that we'd need to replace the carpet rather than get it cleaned again. Now I actually think we can delay that purchase. Believe those before and after pictures here at Yelp: they are the real deal. But those aren't the only reasons I give this company five stars. It's also because they are honest and knowledgeable. They don't try to talk you into more than you need (stain protectors, for example) and they don't charge you for extras when it isn't called for (smaller closets that aren't true "walk-ins") so the bill is very reasonable. We had Doug out last week to clean all of the carpeting in our home, as well as a couch and chaise lounge. From the start of the process to the end, everything was great and smooth. Scheduling with Doug's wife was easy and all of my questions were answered thoroughly and pricing was quoted ahead of time. I was assured there would be no change in the price quoted and there would be no upselling. Doug arrived when he said he would and after looking at the carpets and greeting our pup, he got right to work. Our pup has confused the bedroom carpeting with a potty at times, and despite our efforts to clean the carpeting with sprays, there were still some stains that we couldn't get out. There were also some strange faded grey stains in one of the bedrooms that wouldn't come out with our efforts. Well, Doug got the carpets looking BRAND-NEW and beautiful again. There are no longer any stains or spots and the carpeting looks great! Doug is knowledgeable about what he does and extremely diligent. He tried a few different methods of stain removal until the toughest spots came out. He kept the wood floors where he was working covered, clean and safe from water. I called Breathe Easy because I had my carpets cleaned by a different company and afterwards had a problem breathing. I gave it a month and then came across the positive reviews on Yelp for Breathe Easy. Doug came out and explained to me that the reason I was having problems breathing could have been that the last company could have left to much soap in the carpet and or that there was to much water used which is a perfect environment for dust mites to multiply. Whatever it was, all that I know is when Doug was done cleaning the carpets not only did they look so much better and cleaner (keep in mind I had just had them cleaned one month prior) but I could breathe!!!
