Had I not been so busy walking around and marveling my carpets for the past two hours, I would have typed this review the second Doug walked out the door. I submitted a request through the website on Tuesday asking for a cleaning on Thursday or Friday of this week. I knew I was pushing my luck but figured it was worth a shot! I received a response on Tuesday night, and Doug was here today, on Thursday. He managed to fit us in although he had been working all day...and then was here for four hours. These four hours were spent with Doug removing wax, magic markers, dog urine, you name it. In between sucking up all sorts of nastiness, Doug was super friendly, and fun to talk to. We talked dust mites, sinus surgery, beagles, Christmas in July... Before Doug left, we walked around and he made sure we were 100% happy. Despite being in complete and utter shock, we were beyond happy with our "new" carpets. I called to schedule an appointment based on reviews on Yelp. I spoke with Doug's wife who was pleasant, prompt and service oriented. Doug came to the house on time. He worked super hard the entire time he was here. My carpets looked brand new once he was done. There was not one spot remaining anywhere he cleaned. The real test was in the weeks and months that followed when prior spots will usually reappear if the soiled area was not thoroughly cleaned.....NO SPOTS! For me this was indeed proof of the excellence of the cleaning job down to the carpet base. Doug was personal yet professional. I enjoyed his visit and felt safe at all times. I appreciated his honest assessment and recommendations. I did not feel I was being up-sold or taken advantage of in any way! I feel this is a business I can trust! For paying what we paid for our carpets to be cleaned.... IT WAS HORRIBLE JOB! He came in and did a rush job of cleaning our living carpets.. took him literally 5mins.. and it wasn't clean at all. I called an hour later after noticing a spot that was STILL in my carpet. When I first saw the spot in the rug, he said wait until it dries, it will go away! YA LIE!! I waited an hour and hmmm spot was still there. I called back, and he came back into our home, brought a small squirt bottle of peroxide. (I'm sorry but I could have done that) by saving my money.. IF you hire this company, they're very friendly.. HOWEVER, They're reasonable in price BUT if you actually want your carpets done professionally DONT PICK THIS ONE!! read more

We hired Doug to clean all of the carpeting before we moved anything into our new house. He was not pleasant at all to work with. The next day after the carpeting was dry, I went into every room (big home) and every room had stains still in the carpeting. I can understand SOME stains cannot be taken out but every room still had stains. I'm very disappointed and I counted on all of these reviews when I hired him. I wish I would have gone with a more well known business like Stanley Steamer. I would have spent a little more to have been done right the first time. Definately do not recommend. After some disastrous experiences with carpet cleaners...or rather carpet NON-cleaners, it was wonderful to have found a quality carpet cleaning business. After researching online, I decided to give Breathe Easy Carpet Cleaning a try. My old carpeting looks amazing - better than it's looked in 10 years. Really. Not only is it cleaner, it feels fluffier than it's felt in a long time. And it has just completely dried. Read below if you want the long version! Our carpets are about 28 years old, and have been through children growing, pets, and a husband who does a lot of outside projects. We have one path from the back door to our bathroom. And light carpeting. You get the picture. We have a grey path... In fact, I planned to replace carpeting last January, but we didn't. Because of an upcoming event, I wanted to have the carpets cleaned, fairly close to the event so the "path" would be a little less noticeable in it's first "after cleaning" state. A little less than a year ago, we had SS "clean" our carpets, and they really did not look much better afterwards. I wasn't surprised since our carpets are old and worn. I didn't have high expectations, just wanted cleaner carpeting, even it it didn't look too much cleaner. We had had SS before and the quality of their cleaning was so inconsistent, I tried a chemical based group, and went back to SS. But I never was happy once our carpeting began to age. Enter Doug with "Breathe Easy." He does not use soap, yet as he was cleaning the carpets, he was drawing up a load of suds....from the last time, and probably the time before that. He worked through the house, cleaned up, collected the fee I was quoted on the phone, and left. No hard sell to buy a package. No hassling to do pre-treating or scotch guarding or any additional services. But most importantly, I love the way my worn old carpeting looks. It is clean. It feels fluffy. I hired Doug to clean my upstairs carpeting and stairs. My cat had peed a few times on the stairs so the smell was terrible. Doug came the first time and the carpet looked great but the stairs still smelled. He said no problem to come back again and try to get that smell out. He came back again and treated the stairs a second time. Still, the smell was there. Cat urine is extremely hard to remove, for anyone who has cats. Doug kindly and professionally said he would come back another time with another chemical to remove the cat urine. He came back the third time and it was a charm. The smell is now gone! Doug was so professional the entire time and you don't find the kind of customer service he provides at a lot of companies. I am waiting for Doug to come by sometime to clean an area rug and I will continue to hire him in the future, as well as recommend him to others. Doug and his helper, Dustin, did a fantastic job cleaning all of our carpets, for a VERY reasonable price. My husband, not an easy man to please, was very impressed at the pace of their work, not a moment wasted. The carpets looked great afterwards. I had pointed out several spots I was concerned about and he took care of them all. The day after, I noticed there was one set of spots he missed (he'd come on a gloomy day and didn't have a lot of light to see some of the darker rooms) and when I contacted Doug he was very willing to come out to redo that area. I did not want him to bother for such a small thing, but he tried to insist. I managed to convince him to leave it to me, so he gave me some 100% effective tips to take care of the spots. Doug is as honest a businessman as you will find. We called Doug to clean an empty house with old, very dirty white carpeting. He was extremely pleasant and informative over the phone and was also very understanding when we had to call and reschedule the appointment. He called that morning to verify that that the time still worked. When he arrived at the house, he looked at the areas to be cleaned and was truthful that he would be able to make a huge difference in the carpet, but would not be able to removed some areas where the carpet had yellowed underneath where the furniture had been. I have every confident that Doug could have cleaned the dirt up, but was so incredibly grateful that he was honest up front and told us what he could and couldn't do. I feel that a lot of businesses would have done the job without saying anything and we would have just been out the money and still had to replace the carpet. I will definitely call Doug to clean the carpet in my house and will recommend him to others.
