Breckenridge is a great resort with lots of great terrain. Unfortunately the conditions were hideous during our last trip, but we still had fun. My husband used to be an instructor there, so we've been to Breckenridge a lot. Main Street and the downtown area are nice to walk around summer and winter.

I had such an amazing experience with my ski instructor, Dillon, at Brick Ski Resort! I was in a group with two other people I had never met before, and he immediately made all of us feel comfortable and welcomed. Dillon was incredibly patient, friendly, and easy to talk to. He explained everything in a way that was simple and easy to understand, which made a huge difference for me as someone who was basically starting fresh. Even though I had skied once a long time ago, I was pretty nervous but Dillon helped build my confidence so quickly. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared. He constantly checked in to make sure everyone was feeling good, warm enough, and keeping up. He also went above and beyond by staying with our group longer than scheduled just so we could experience going up the ski lift, which meant so much and made the lesson even more memorable. On top of being a great instructor, Dillon was super knowledgeable about the resort and shared helpful tips that made the whole experience even better. I would highly, highly recommend Dillon to anyone especially beginners. If you get him as your instructor, consider yourself lucky! He truly made my experience unforgettable.

Nice resort with a lot of skiable areas good for beginners and intermediates. Wide open slopes. A lot of snowboarders. The week we were there I'd say there were equal number skiers and snowboarders. When there's no fresh snow and cold after a few days the trail surfaces tend to get scraped flat and could get icy and slick especially higher up and above the tree lines. Weekends can get quite crowded especially at peak 9 where the easiest slopes are. The blues at peak 8 and 7 are mostly nice except for a couple of steeper hills - Northstar and Dukes. Peak 6 is blue also but should be considered double blue and due to the wind could be icy and unpleasant. Breck is high up with base at 9600 ft so need to be careful about altitude sickness.

I was there this past week and the temps were absolutely brutal!! Staff did an amazing job at making sure that lifts were shut down due to the winds or temp to make sure everyone was safe. Even with the weather and the crowds staff did a great job and making sure that the lift lines moved quickly and smoothly. Signs on the trails were easy to read and follow.

We loved spending time at the Breckenridge Ski Resort. First, you park in the city or parking lot and take the free Gondola ride up to the top of Peak 8. There you can rent some skis or use your own. There were so many people enjoying skiing and snowboarding, it was just a pleasure to see everyone enjoying themselves. There are several shops, restaurants and cafes at the top of Peak 8 as well as a few resorts, hotels and time shares. Breckenridge is situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains' Tenmile Range. It's known for the ski resort, its year-round alpine activities and its Gold Rush history. The Victorian core of this former mining town is preserved as the Breckenridge National Historic District, running primarily along Main Street, with colorfully painted buildings from the 1880s and '90s housing shops, galleries and restaurants. Cute town...

My home mountain, November riding this year is fabulous! For those that want a challenge, do Windows or Ore Bucket.

A great place to do greens and blues! I have been a few times this season and have loved it. Easy in and out of lifts, entry area, & lodge areas. Highly recommend!

Took the Breckconnect to Peak 7. It was free to take the gondola up and it had beautiful views! We then took the chair lift up to Peak 8 and it was spectacular. The views were gorgeous. We grabbed a drink and sat in an adirondike chair just taking in the views.

I was at Breckenridge for the first time last season, and even though the two big resorts west of here (Vail and Beaver Creek) are my main haunts when I ski CO, had the occasion to come back to Breck in early February. At almost 3000 acres, boasting 5 peaks, it is - along with Keystone - a one-two punch for Epic Pass holders who don't want to drive all the way to Vail, never mind Beaver. While a slightly shorter drive for those coming from Denver, though, it has some drawbacks. Traffic going west on I70 and down route 9 is going to be a grind on weekends, and the hill will be filled with more weekend skiers and learners than Vail and BC. Breck IS very good for learners, though, as the Quicksilver Chair will provide access to some good green runs for anyone not quite beyond snow-plowing, with some flat surfaces down low. Perhaps due to this appeal to less accomplished skiers, the color systems tend to be a notch lower: the blacks could be a hard blue on other mountains, and the double-blacks, merely blacks (even if I have not ventured to the tantalizingly-titled "Devil's Crotch" double-black run myself, yet). There are a few places where the gung-ho crowd could "hike to terrain", but I didn't join them. While it doesn't have quite as many runs as Vail (187 vs. 195), Breckenridge boasts the highest chair lift, not just in Colorado, but in North America. To access it though, you need to ride the excruciatingly long Horseshoe Bowl T-Bar (who even has T-bars these days!? Oh wait, Blackcomb does/did) to get to Imperial Chair and Peak 8. It IS a rocking, long run from there - having fresher legs will help the cause! But it's worth the climb, if nothing else, for the photo op and bragging rights! Breck and Keystone are both good choices for someone like me as well, since I'm only on a "local" pass, which gives me only 10 days total at Vail, BC, and Whistler/Blackcomb, but unlimited access in those two, along with others elsewhere). The conundrum right now is: do I stay with the local for next year, or spend another $200 for the unlimited? I have a few months to ponder that. Talking abut which... the pricing policy of both Epic and Ikon for the past few years has been: if you ski, get a season pass, since the walk-up pass prices are just out of this world at well over $200 per day. This effectively shuts out the uncommitted, those new to the sport, and those who might want to otherwise try it. Will this basically kill off the blood supply, the new skiers? Time will tell.

I went to the ticket office the morning after my son broke his hand to request a refund for the last day of his ski pass. We brought the doctor's note, even though the doctor at St. Anthony's said it would not be required since his hand was in a brace. After 45 minutes of patiently waiting, the customer service agent and her manager indicated that the system was down and, "Do you trust us? We will take care of it when the system comes back on line.. You don't have to wait." We left them with all the information, but no refund was issued. We called and emailed, but haven't received anything other than a runaround. Whatever you do, don't trust anyone at this place! I'm so disappointed!

We skied two days in a row here (1/11-1/12) and I will admit that on day 1, I wasn't loving it. We arrived and got on the mountain around 12. Which I think was a contributor. The conditions weren't great on some trails - a little icy. Day 2 we got out early and the conditions were great and it changed my opinion. We found that some peaks were definitely busier. Though with covid restrictions, it was never bad at all. My thoughts on the peaks: On Peak 9 the trails were all pretty wide there and in great condition. Many blue cruisers. If you're not looking for very challenging or still learning, that would be a good mountain. Peak 8 was probably our favorite. We felt it had a good mix of trails you could hit. There was a groomed black (Spruce), which was a nice easy black. It's a roller and one section was a little icy but otherwise it was really nice. Then we liked going down Dukes Run. I'm not really into moguls but our son likes them, so it was nice that we could go down Pathfinder together and he did Little Johnny and we came down Dukes run and met him again. That also worked for us to go down Spruce and he came down High Anxiety and could wait at the bottom for him. Peak 7 I liked quite a bit. Again, many blue options once you get to the top. We found some were a little busy. Overall, I was happy with the experience and have already reserved additional days at Breck this year.

Our group ran a little late and I ended up being the only person who showed up, and the staff could not have been more patient or accommodating about it. I was fortunate enough to get what essentially felt like a private ride, which made the whole experience feel very personal. They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold. The ride is very gentle and smooth, and they move at a reasonable pace while being thoughtful about cross country skiers on the trail, stopping when needed to let people pass. I found myself completely mesmerized watching the grooming attachment in front reshape the snow and lay down those perfectly clean parallel ski tracks. We stopped at a historic cabin that had been relocated and rebuilt years ago, and it was cozy inside with a guest book and bits of history to read. I ended up wanting to get back into the snowcat fairly quickly because it was so warm and comfortable in there, and the views from inside were amazing. It was quiet, beautiful, and surprisingly peaceful, and I came away with some great photos on my film camera and a super memorable first snowcat experience.

We did the willow (easy) snowshoeing trail which took about 40 minutes and offered beautiful views, a route under the gondolas and being in the trees with lots of cute squirrels. We left for breakfast and ended up taking the snowshoes on a different trail in town before returning them.
