Stayed at the One Skill Hill place on my most recent visit to Breck. This lodging accommodation offers ski in and ski out options with a personalized ski valet service. It is so convenient with a locker room option to store all your gear and ski equipment. They store and valet your skis for you when you leave and return. They even return your skis for you to the rental store so you do not have to wait in line. The facilities were gorgeous and has a lot of bird themed artwork throughout the resort. It was decorated with a giant christmas tree and other lights and decorations for the holiday. They have a variety of fireplaces throughout. Also several dining options are available including a restaurant. They have free hot chocolate and other amenities include a media room and a bowling alley. After a long ski day, I took advantage of the hot tub and pool area with a dry and wet sauna. There was also a nice gym with weights and cardio equipment with a great view of the mountain and skiers. The room was a nice size and had kitchen appliances to prepare your own meals if you choose to, it has a nice balcony with a view and also a fireplace, there was a bed and sleep sofa to accommodate multiple people. The service was outstanding during the entire duration of my stay. I highly recommend this resort for a convenient and enjoyable ski experience.

My go-to spot to warm up and relax after having hit my daily quota of dodging ski-school tykes on the overcrowded slopes on Breck's Peak 8. A ski instructor introduced me to this quiet, cozy hidden gem last season and I'm glad he did. The staff is always amazing and happy to mix any special cocktail you or they can dream up. The bar is perfect for dining solo or waiting for friends to join. Epic Pass discount honored here, too.

Zack!!!

This review is for ski valet only... We LOVE you Zack!!! Thank you for first class service and making our first ski experience such a joy!

I'm pretty much in love with this place. Stayed here for a long weekend with 7 friends in a 4 bedroom condo. Our balcony overlooked the base of peak 8. Walk out the lobby and the chairlifts, gondola, ski school, rental place, bar, restaurant - all right there. Could not have been more convenient. The condo itself was beautiful inside and very roomy. Huge entry way for everyone to dump their snowboards and winter layers. 4 bathrooms, full kitchen including a wine fridge (nice!). I want to give it 5 stars SO BADLY but truth is, they're still working out some 'new property' issues. Our dining experience was comical. I won't get into it but I have little doubt they'll resolve this very quickly. They made it up to us with free fruit cheese and wine - what problem does free wine not fix? :) I will absolutely return here. It's a bit pricey, but very doable with a group. Highly recommend it!

The staff was helpful and friendly, as well as the ski valet which had our snowboards out and ready before the mountain opened and knew us by name.

I don't think I'm a ski fan (I tried it and once was more than enough) but still love the beauty I see. We were told that NYE was also crazy busy but didn't realize Valentine weekend would be too. Beautiful nevertheless!

My buddy and I finally made the drive over from Arizona and had a blast skiing here. Breckenridge Ski Resort (or just Breck) is a popular resort that is owned and operated by Vail Resorts, Inc. We have Epic Passes and used them while we were here. Breckenridge Ski Resort opened in 1961 and has a total of 35 chair lifts. It has five peaks that are part of the Ten Mile Range. We stayed in nearby Frisco and made the short drive over each morning. We then took the BreckConnect Gondola to Peak 8 and began our day there. Lower Peak 8 is home to the base village of Breckenridge Ski Resort. There are places to eat, shop and rent gear in this area. For trails, there is a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs that you can access from Lower Peak 8. Check out Ullr, the Norse god of Snow statue while you are here at base village. My buddy and I are intermediate skiers that mix in some black runs here and there. I personally have been skiing since my teenage years. We spent most of our first day skiing runs off the Colorado and Rocky Mountain Superchair lifts to get our warmup reps in. We then finished our day hitting some blue runs over at Peak 6. There are a number of places to grab food and drinks. We hit Sevens (at the base of Peak 7) for an early morning Bloody Mary. We also grabbed lunch at T-Bar over at base village. But for the most part, we snacked on granola bars and other goodies that we carried in our pockets. We like to grab hotels that have a big continental breakfast so that we don't have to spend a lot of cash on food on the slopes. Day Two we wanted more challenging runs. Some people told us that Whale's Tail is a good challenge and fun to ski on. Whale's Tail is a double black diamond run that has a 604-foot drop, from 12,858 to 12,254 feet. It is nestled between Peak 7 and 8 and you have to take the Imperial Express lift to get to it. Imperial Express is the highest lift in North America at 12,840 feet. Crossing the catwalk in strong windy weather was no fun. But you get beautiful views of the entire mountain from the top of Whale's Tail once you get there. If was worth the challenge and we had fun skiing down it. The rest of the day we took it easy and skied mostly green and blue runs over at Peak 8 and 9 to wrap up our trip. We enjoyed hanging out in the town of Breckenridge after our two days of skiing. The town itself is very charming and has a number of bars and restaurants. Breckenridge attracts all sorts of outdoor enthusiasts in both the summer and winter. Breckenridge Ski Resort has made the town a popular destination for skiers since it opened in the 60's. The town is definitely worth a stop after a day on the slopes.

Our group ran a little late and I ended up being the only person who showed up, and the staff could not have been more patient or accommodating about it. I was fortunate enough to get what essentially felt like a private ride, which made the whole experience feel very personal. They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold. The ride is very gentle and smooth, and they move at a reasonable pace while being thoughtful about cross country skiers on the trail, stopping when needed to let people pass. I found myself completely mesmerized watching the grooming attachment in front reshape the snow and lay down those perfectly clean parallel ski tracks. We stopped at a historic cabin that had been relocated and rebuilt years ago, and it was cozy inside with a guest book and bits of history to read. I ended up wanting to get back into the snowcat fairly quickly because it was so warm and comfortable in there, and the views from inside were amazing. It was quiet, beautiful, and surprisingly peaceful, and I came away with some great photos on my film camera and a super memorable first snowcat experience.

A day pass is $30, which is a little pricey but ultimately worth it. You can rent snowshoes or Nordic skis for a similar price. My friends and I came here for snowshoeing and had a great time! They have a map which clearly marks the skiing and snowshoeing trails along with their level of difficulty. We did the willow (easy) snowshoeing trail which took about 40 minutes and offered beautiful views, a route under the gondolas and being in the trees with lots of cute squirrels. We left for breakfast and ended up taking the snowshoes on a different trail in town before returning them. The Nordic center is a great place to access fun winter activities in Breckenridge and worth checking out if you're in town!

We knew we weren't going to be there very long so that just seemed a little ridiculous for a few hours but even all day. Down below, parking is like $25.00 and the gondola ride up is free so I was all for that and it meant I got to enjoy the views on the ride up. It was an experience for sure and honestly, I would have felt cheated missing that part of being in a ski resort town.

The gondola takes you to the base of Peak 8 and is free to ride. Each cabin can carry up to eight passengers and goes 7,600 feet in about 10 to 12 minutes. The gondola makes two stops before making its way to Peak 8. If you want to go to the Independence SuperChair lift, the gondola makes a midway stop at Peak 7. Just make sure you have a lift or Epic Pass on you so that you can board the lift. The other stop is at Shock Hill Station and is for residents only. The gondola's main station is located just about a block from Main Street on the North side of town next to the Breckenridge Transportation Center. Even though it is free to ride the gondola, you still have to pay to park. There are also restrooms nearby. We enjoyed our ride up the gondola and the conversations that we were able to make with other skiers. The ride was smooth and you can't beat the views of the Breckenridge Ski Resort mountains. The gondola is open to everyone to ride (including dogs). The gondola isn't just for winter season activities. It is also a great way to visit the Breckenridge Fun Park during the summer season.
