The best place with excellent customer service! All the employees were very helpful and friendly! Considering the amount of people that go through this place, their level of patience and understanding is exemplary! I was not able to get names but the two ladies at the front desk are absolutely the sweetest. They gave us information and happily explained the differences between the activities they offer. The uncle and aunty at the pickup line were absolutely the best people to ask for tips on how to ski if you're a beginner! We're from Hawaii and skiing is not really our thing. The information they gave definitely made our experience better. We met a couple of people during our trip and they were all such lovely people to meet! Everyone you meet is encouraging you to keep up and pace yourself. Such a lovely place to be and the sight is incredible! read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our cross country skiing experience here and also the snowshoeing. It was so fun to be able to ski on groomed trails! Price was $27 for a day pass. They do have ski and snowshoe rentals or you can bring your own. Staff was friendly. The location was clean. Trails were fantastic. They have a well mapped out system of green, blue and black trails for skiing. Lots of trees so even if windy you can escape for portions of the trail. There is one snowshoe trail. We completed the entire thing. It was nice and through the trees. If you are not from the area, like us. It was nice to be able to know we could get out our snow play toys here and actually use them. There is a tubing hill also on the property. We did not utilize it on this trip but I did take my girl scouts on that a couple of years back. read more

We love the trails here, nice meandering and turns here and there. However, snow conditions really deteriorate after March 1 because of the sun. Up there yesterday and very icy, and the tracks were getting erased. After trying this a number of times in March, we will only ski there in Dec-Feb due to the snow and track deteriorating. read more

As a newbie to Nordic skiing, I had a great first lesson from Stephanie here. I grew in skills and confidence and am now prepared to ski many trails on my own. The trails are well-groomed and quiet. The center is close to downtown, which makes it an easy drive if the weather cooperates, but civilization seems a world away when you're skiing. They rent quality equipment at a fair price and had my unusual boot size, even midday on a holiday. The folks here are very friendly. I will return. read more

Cross Country skiers haven! The Nordic disciplines include cross-country skiing and ski jumping, which both use bindings that attach at the toes of the skier's boots but not at the heels. Originally and primarily a spot shared with 2 Below Zero Sleigh Dinner Rides. When you visit the Frisco Nordic Center, you will be surrounded by snowy peaks in every direction and the quiet of the trail. The Frisco Nordic Center offers beautiful trails and snowshoe rentals 7 days a week from their cozy cabin at 616 Recreation Way in Frisco, Colorado. Loved it! Beautiful terrain, maintained very well and not crowded (on a Tuesday) however parking was scarce due to the children's snow hill next door. One comment, when you come off of the snowshoe hare trail, the trail ends and it's not marked. We were going in circles for about 20 mins. read more

Some of the best groomed Nordic trails in Colorado. The staff is a bit lazy and rude but hey, that's the Colorado way.

.We've been here twice and really enjoyed our time here. Our first visit, we took advantage of a Groupon deal and took cross-country ski lessons. We had an instructor who took us out on an intermediate trail, which was a little too advanced for my tastes. However, the man loved it. While I didn't find xc skiing the ultimate winter sport for me, I had fun doing it. After we took a break for lunch, the man went back out for a second run. Our second time, there was another deal via Living Social for equipment rental and a day pass, so we both went up. The man went xc skiing again and I tried out snowshoeing. I have to say that I really enjoy snowshoeing. And since I was out by myself for almost two hours, I was very happy with how well the trail was marked. I ran across one of the workers who had gone out to break the trail, so she gave me some pointers on which trail to go on and how far to go. I would definitely return. We have had nothing but great experiences here. The first time I left my coat and I called and they held it there for me for 2 weeks, until I returned. In addition to xc skiing and snowshoeing, they also have some type of buggy that can carry a kiddo or two, that is harnessed to an adult. There's also a sleigh ride which looks pretty fun. The Nordic Center is in the midst of the Frisco Adventure Center, which offers tubing and zorbing (think plastic balls to roll around in) and in the summer, there's camping on the grounds. I found the prices to be very reasonable and affordable, even without the deals. The Nordic Center has a couple of tables indoors and couch seating. There aren't lockers, but you can leave your things inside the Center; however, do so at your own risk. Our first visit, I left my water bottle, hat and gloves on a table while I went to the bathroom and got my skis. In that short period of time, someone took my (new) gloves and hat. However, on the second visit, the staff offered to put our stuff in the manager's office, which was safer to me, based on my first experience. read more

I love this Center for the cross-country trails. Even with the high winds, and tons of snow that fell while we were there, the trails were well groomed and diverse enough for everyone in our group. Although I did not snow shoe, a couple in our group did and they love the equipment and the trails that were available. This was my 3rd time at the Center, and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. The rentals and trail passes are affordable, and now, with the addition of the tubing, the Center has something for everyone in your group. The views over Dillion lake, and up the valley, are so impressive that I forget how oxygen-starved my lungs are and just breathe here. I would be out on the trails everyday, if I could. read more

This review is for the cross-country trails, not for the sledding, snow shoeing or other activities available. We are classic cross-country skiiers and it was great to see such lengthy routes available at different skill levels. We took a blue route that wore us out good! There isn't a lot of fantastic scenery through some of the green & blue trails, but they are well groomed and even on a Saturday they weren't busy. We have our own equipment so all we utilized the center for was purchasing our trail passes for the day. This spot is convenient to get to from I-70 if you don't feel like driving the extra distance to Breckenridge for their nordic center. read more

I love cross-country skiing, and the well maintained 46kms of trails at the Frisco Nordic Center are great. I love the diversity on trails for different skills levels so you can either challenge yourself or take it easy if you are a newbie. The desk and fitting staff are friendly and efficient and very helpful for those just starting out. The giant collie that is a mascot for the place is very friendly and getting some great cardio is easy on the trails here. $12 for a day-pass and $17 for ski equipment rentals are reasonable, and you are in for a day of fun whether you are an experienced skiing or putting on skis for the first time! read more

People are friendly enough, but definitely don't have it fully together here. Rental gear was decent quality, although the employees didn't ask us which sport we were planning to do before charging us and getting us set up with the wrong type (there are different charges and types for classic and skate skiing). My biggest issue with this place and why it slides to 3 stars: Extremely poor signage along the trails coupled with an equally poor trail map. Really, really annoying. read more

Seems a little unorganized. They gave us classic rentals instead of asking us if we wanted skate skis (we did). Their signage a maps need work. It's easy to get turned around and they don't have signs at hardly any trail junctions. Fun time though. Good workout. read more

Staff was helpful and friendly. They were busy the day we came to x-ski but they made sure we were ready for the trails. The nordic center is on the small side and does not offer lockers. You can throw your extra gear, shoes and clothes where you like though. The place was littered with peoples bags. The reason for the 3-stars is due to the poor trail signage. As a minimum you would think the green / easy trails would be well marked. If you are a rookie there are only two easy / green trails. However the Frisco Bay trail is not too hard if you got around the 2 easy trails. All-in-all it was a fun time. More signage PLEASE. read more

We had the most fun-filled hour tubing today. If you like great family fun for anyone say age 5 and up this is the place. The facility is clean and there is a lot of parking. The staff inside and out were so friendly and they all seemed to enjoy being there. Be sure to make online reservations. They do sell out, especially on holiday weekends. The cost is $25 per person. On average you can get in 3-5 runs. I can not stress enough to that you must dress jut like you are going skiing, minus the helmet. It is a great idea for the kids to have goggles and their face covered. Today it was 18 degrees before the howling winds. The process is simple. Pay, enter the yurt and watch a quick salty video, select your tube and then head for the magic carpet. Once at the top select a line, I think there were 5. You can go down as a single or pull together up to 4 tube. If you have children, they must be in their own tube. I recommend going down as a group to start so the kids get the feel of how fast you go. Be sure to have your Go Pro, cell phone and selfie stick. You will want to catch the excitement for replay later! read more

If you like cross country skiing and want to go somewhere with easy access from Denver, then you should try one of the following Nordic Centers: Frisco Nordic Center, Gold Run Nordic Center, Breckenridge Nordic Center, Snow Mountain Ranch and Devil's Thumb. The trails at the Frisco Nordic Center are well groomed. They are extensive enough that you can ski there all day without getting bored, the center is easy to get to, and they have good customer service. I think the nicest staff and the best customer service is at Gold Run. Gold Run has some great trails and they are well groomed, but they aren't quite extensive enough to ski there for more than one afternoon. Breckenridge Nordic Center has some really fun trails and the location can't be beat if you want to cross country ski while your friends downhill ski or if want to hang out afterwards in a cool town. Snow Mountain Ranch offers extensive trails, has roomy facilities, offers meals on-site, and the trails are well groomed. Devil's Thumb offers some of the most diverse and most fun trails out there, but they fall behind on the grooming a little too often and their customer service is less than stellar if you aren't spending the night. read more

This was only my second time skiing at Frisco Nordic Center and the experience was fantastic. The staff was knowledgeable and super-friendly. The Center's building is cozy. I looked at the rental equipment and it was all top-notch. Perfect strangers volunteered with the info about the trails and a very nice guy gave me a tour of really fun trails (thanks Chad - I'd love to ski with you again!). I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of the trails and the terrain was a blast. Trails were groomed to perfection. I can't wait to ski there again! read more
