We had a blast. They had a Groupon thing for snow shoeing and we enjoyed it. They had many paths you could take.

He explained everything in a way that was simple and easy to understand, which made a huge difference for me as someone who was basically starting fresh. Even though I had skied once a long time ago, I was pretty nervous but Dillon helped build my confidence so quickly. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared. He constantly checked in to make sure everyone was feeling good, warm enough, and keeping up. He also went above and beyond by staying with our group longer than scheduled just so we could experience going up the ski lift, which meant so much and made the lesson even more memorable. On top of being a great instructor, Dillon was super knowledgeable about the resort and shared helpful tips that made the whole experience even better. I would highly, highly recommend Dillon to anyone especially beginners. If you get him as your instructor, consider yourself lucky! He truly made my experience unforgettable.

Our group ran a little late and I ended up being the only person who showed up, and the staff could not have been more patient or accommodating about it. I was fortunate enough to get what essentially felt like a private ride, which made the whole experience feel very personal. They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold. The ride is very gentle and smooth, and they move at a reasonable pace while being thoughtful about cross country skiers on the trail, stopping when needed to let people pass. I found myself completely mesmerized watching the grooming attachment in front reshape the snow and lay down those perfectly clean parallel ski tracks. We stopped at a historic cabin that had been relocated and rebuilt years ago, and it was cozy inside with a guest book and bits of history to read. I ended up wanting to get back into the snowcat fairly quickly because it was so warm and comfortable in there, and the views from inside were amazing. It was quiet, beautiful, and surprisingly peaceful, and I came away with some great photos on my film camera and a super memorable first snowcat experience.

Down below, parking is like $25.00 and the gondola ride up is free so I was all for that and it meant I got to enjoy the views on the ride up. The gondola takes you to the base of Peak 8 and is free to ride. Each cabin can carry up to eight passengers and goes 7,600 feet in about 10 to 12 minutes. The gondola makes two stops before making its way to Peak 8. If you want to go to the Independence SuperChair lift, the gondola makes a midway stop at Peak 7. Just make sure you have a lift or Epic Pass on you so that you can board the lift. The other stop is at Shock Hill Station and is for residents only. The gondola's main station is located just about a block from Main Street on the North side of town next to the Breckenridge Transportation Center. Even though it is free to ride the gondola, you still have to pay to park. There are also restrooms nearby. We enjoyed our ride up the gondola and the conversations that we were able to make with other skiers. The ride was smooth and you can't beat the views of the Breckenridge Ski Resort mountains. The gondola is open to everyone to ride (including dogs). The gondola isn't just for winter season activities. It is also a great way to visit the Breckenridge Fun Park during the summer season.

The resort had activities going for kids every day. I do wish there were more restaurants or at least a coffee shop that was within a quick walk. Breakfast would be more difficult to get if we didn't have a car. Rooms do have a mini fridge, stove, top, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, so you could go to the local grocery store and pick up some amenities to save on cost. It has two different pools that were nice and a couple of hot tubs as well. They do offer on-site Spa treatments, but we didn't take advantage of those this time. Great budget friendly option for your family if staying near Breckenridge.

Ski Village Resorts is a rental management company in Breckenridge that has a lot of different types of properties available, not just a single resort. The reservation process was quick and easy. Checking in when I arrived in Breckenridge was also simple and painless. Their staff was courteous and friendly. I stayed in a 2-bedroom condo at The Village, which is at the corner of Main Street and Park Avenue right in town. Restaurants and shopping are all right out the door. And, even better, the Breckenridge Ski Resort's Quick Silver super chair lift was right out back no more than 100 yards from the building. Definitely a great location in the winter. I had previously stayed at Beaver Run and I like this complex better; it is more modern and more convenient. The condo was spacious and modern and had a beautiful view of the mountains and ski resort. One note, though, with services like Ski Village Resorts, they don't normally include daily housekeeping unless you request it ahead of time. As a regular visitor to Breckenridge, I will tell you that parking is tight even at the big resorts. Unless your visit requires a lot of driving, I recommend taking a shuttle if you are flying in to Denver. Once here, there is a local shuttle as well as shuttles to Keystone and other areas.

They have a lot of properties from which to choose. Each property has its own amenities and advantages. Previously, we have stayed at One Ski Hill Place, Beaver Run, and this last trip, The Village. Ski Hill Place is nice and convenient to the lifts but requires a shuttle ride to town. Beaver Run is older and a bit dated but close to lifts. Only about a 10 minute walk to town. The Village has the best combination of close lift access and quick access to restaurants and other activities. Each time we have used Ski Village Resorts, it has been an easy transaction. Check in is quick and their prices are very reasonable. Parking at each property can be iffy during peak season but we found we don't need a car. Like one of the other reviewers said, if you are flying in to Denver Airport, it is much easier to reserve a shuttle.

Be aware that the hotel front desk will not assist anyone staying through VRBO and every interaction with Hunter was extremely unpleasant. He was consistently rude and unhelpful. When we asked about parking availability in town, we were given the incorrect information. We ultimately had to find parking on our own and it was significantly closer than what the hotel recommended. When our unit owner contacted the front desk to ask for assistance retrieving our key from the locker, Hunter appeared visibly annoyed he had to help. Additionally, when we asked the front desk to provide a key that we gave to him to our adult children upon their arrival, he refused. The hotel feels dated and tired and the food was inedible. The hot tub was not very hot. While many of these issues might have been overlooked given the great location, the consistently rude and unprofessional from desk made the stay far less enjoyable.

My wife got here at check-in and I had forgotten to put her in reservation. At any other hotel this is easily resolvable, especially hotels that are at this price point. Sean, the manager, made my wife incredibly uncomfortable by being aggressive and dismissive. She called me ans asked if eh would talk to me, he aggressively said "what's his phone miner? Don't ask him!" He then said that she doesn't even have my last name... mind you that's not always the case Sean! My wife had our two toddlers after a long car ride and just needed some compassion and a bit of instruction on how to fix the situation but was instead met with hostility. I showed up around 7pm and Sean immediately became shaking upset when I tried to jsut describe how he could have jsut told my wife or me (on the phone) to call a number and add her. He checked me in and gave me a key, no holder with room number, had to ask, no parking instructions (only one spot), no map of property, no WiFi code... no apology without BS excuses. I regularly get better service at a Courtyard Marriott. If you are looking for somewhere great to stay I reccomend you go to the Grand Colorado or anywhere else in town. Learn to be nicer Sean it goes a long way. Max shouldn't have to apologize for you. Max, you rock!

We drove to One Ski Hill, and that lobby was also closed with another sign directing us to River Mountain Lodge. After going back down the mountain, we then waited around 30 minutes while the front desk staff had to be walked through how to check us in. In total, what should have been a simple check-in turned into a frustrating hour-long process with multiple locations, poor communication, and no smooth handoff. My daughter was tired and crying, and we were exhausted from travel. For a hotel/resort at this price, this level of disorganization is unacceptable. The staff member was polite, but the system and process were very poorly handled. Guests should not be sent from location to location after a full travel day, especially when paying premium rates.
