We returned to the store about 3 hours later the same day to explain the issue and request an exchange. We were told they would not help because we brought it back "3 hours later," even though it was never usable and was defective from the start. The timing was only because we had already paid for beach parking and secured our spot, so we tried to set it up right away instead of immediately leaving and losing the parking and setup area. As soon as we realized it was defective, we came back. This wasn't buyer's remorse or normal use... the item was unusable from the moment it was opened. Very disappointing experience and no resolution offered for a defective product.

We probably spent too much time in the store because there's so much to see in this place. That's probably how we ended up spending buying more than we intended here too. :) We'll be heading back to Carolina Beach this year. Maybe this time I'll buy a new swimsuit at Maxway. Currently the closing is being held up due to legal battles between the city, Harris Teeter, and Public's. As far as I am concerned I hope it stays tied up and Maxway stays on Carolina Beach. I have been a resident since 2011, and they need to let the citizens who live there have a say in what we want. There is too much of the same stuff on the island. Maxway is the only place aside from the recent expansion of Dollar General that has different stuff and reasonable!! I myself want support a Publics, it is to expensive and I pass 100 places on my way home every day. So much odd and end stuff that you want be able to get on the island once they close Maxway. Citizens and vacationers should flood the city council board with emails and hand written letters.
