They're also more likely to pick up trends on your vehicle if the brand matches the dealerships (i drive a ford). They'll also have a higher likelihood of discovering recalls and warranty replacements. Tim was my service guy. He was always in good communication with me, super easy to talk to, and honest. He not only ensured that the thread was repaired, but the other two spark plugs were replaced. He also gave me advice for an ongoing issue that I had going on with my car. He seems like he genuinely cares, and is knowledgeable. I grew up working in car dealerships (mom was a parts manager and I worked every day over summers from age 8-17), and developed a good radar for good service guys. I don't like a majority of the ones I've met over the years across the country, but I do trust Tim.

Even after learning that the car had an open SAFETY recall and an interference engine (google it) that was 40,000 miles overdue for a timing belt, the owner would not negotiate on the grounds that he could sell the car in the coming weeks for his asking price to someone else. As a business owner, I respect his right to demand a certain price and I have no hard feelings over a simple deal that fell through. It was a common car and I knew I'd find another one. What REALLY concerns me is his willingness to sell a car with full knowledge of expensive and potentially dangerous issues to another customer, ideally to one who doesn't know how to inspect a car properly. I said this is enough. I decided to take the car back they refuse to take it back. Even when I said it was a voluntary repo. They said I was responsible for two balances and threatened to take me to court. The two balances being the original Ford Explorer which they tacked onto the new loan without telling me. Then they also proceeded to throw in my face that they sold the Explorer to someone else and I was still responsible for both cars when someone else brought that car?!
