I reached out to four companies to get a quote, Brennan was one of the two companies to show up. The quote was very reasonable to not only take down a tree and grind the stump. We booked them to take down one tree but asked them to provide a quote to take down 2 more trees. Again, the price was very reasonable so we had them take them all down. I hate to write negative reviews but this was one for the books. Hired these guys to cut some branches back that were encroaching on the house, and some that were close to the power lines to my house. First part went well enough, but instead of tying off the branch near the power line to keep it from falling in the line, they just lopped that sucker off and let it fall right on the wire. I could see the damage it caused right away. Instantly lost power. Foreman didn't even react when I told him, just said "call PECO" and off they went. So I basically paid them to do what I was specifically trying to prevent. A day later and still no power, no word on when someone is coming out, and I have to cancel vacation plans if not fixed by Thursday. If I had to list the pluses, they were fairly responsive and they cleaned up thoroughly. Also, like I said there weren't any problems with one part of the job. But the avoidable problems this caused really outweigh the positives. read more

am writing this review about Brennan Tree Service: Brennan Tree Service 3712 Meyer Ln, Hatboro, PA, United States, Pennsylvania I will not be using real names outside of the company in order to protect myself and my family from any future repercussions by the company. TL: DR - Protect yourself by getting everything in writing. If there are any changes, get it in writing. Don't ever feel pressured to do something you are not comfortable with financially or in general. Over the past year or so, we've had tornadoes and heavy winds, and rain in our area. This has caused multiple trees to fall on our house, and our family car, and even torn down power lines. Our family decided it was time to get someone to come out and look at the trees that fell and others that might fall. My family called Brennan Tree Service. They came and looked over our property, saying there were approx 7 trees that were in various degrees of dying or dead, and posed danger to our house and property. So we agreed to have them cut the trees. They did do all they were asked to cut down and were careful in chaining and bringing the pieces to the ground. But other things happened in the first encounter. Here is what happened: 1. While cutting the trees, their heavy machines created 1-2 inch divots in our ground, deep enough that you could twist your ankle in. Such divots and holes are all over our property, covered by wood chips and fallen leaves. They used nothing to protect the ground (we had another company come at a different time for a tree that put large pieces of wood like a platform under their chipper's stand, protecting the ground). I have already twisted my ankle a few times from them. 2. One of the workers asked to place 3 logs on the side of our property, as they needed space to continue cutting the trees. Our family agreed. But the other workers felt it was an agreement to place ALL of the cut logs on our property. See my end note on what came of that event. 3. They used a chipper to cut up branches and small things. Not only did we have wood chips ALL over our property because they didn't use the chipper in one spot. EDIT: I found out my family did ask for the wood chip piles left, but will keep the info about the mess on our property. 4. There was poor communication between groups of workers and higher up. We don't know if it is a language barrier, or they just didn't talk to each other, because when my family called, many of the workers had no idea what was going on, even though they were at our property. This happened on the job at our house as well as at the company center. Now a month or so later, a neighbor on the street above flipped a house. They needed to connect to the sewer/water pipe that is at the end of our property, the part of our property where Brennan Tree Service placed 33 pine logs! So my family had to contact Brennan Tree Service to get the logs removed. We had to pay 1.5k in order to move them. Logs my family never agreed to have placed there, because our neighbor couldn't access the sewer/water plate. When my family asked why Brennan Tree Service left the pine logs, we were told that they were shorter than what they'd take away with their truck. The thing is, their company CUT THEM short and left them there. So the size was INTENTIONAL. And the last thing they did, happened today, where they told my family (while they were taking away the 33 pine logs THEY left), that there were 3 or 4 more trees we REALLY should get taken care of. It would be 7k but they'll cut them for 4k. I had to talk my family out of jumping and doing it. Why all of a sudden did Brennan Tree Service say it NOW when they were doing another job, instead of the month or 2 ago when they were here? My family is upset and feels like we were taken advantage of, especially on how Brennan Tree Service spoke to my family, asking to do little 'favors' and doing things not in the written contract. And yes, I've seen the contract. Nowhere did it say dump logs. If you are going to use Brennan Tree Service, be wary. Don't let them do ANYTHING not in the contract. Protect your property. Don't give them an inch or they'll give you things YOU have to take care of. We are struggling with money now to cover what they did and clean up THEIR mess. read more

Beware, Do not use Brennan Tree Service! Although they were initially very polite and assured me that the work would be done by the end of the week, after calling them repeatedly, they eventually came unannounced to do the tree trimming. Nobody was home at the time. Owner then called my husband to receive payment, insisting that he could pick up payment at my husband's work place even before we had the chance to look at what was done. Under pressure, my husband paid him. When we arrived home and saw the inadequate job that was done, we called Brennan again. We were assured that they would be out again. We followed up several times with no response. Eventually had job done correctly by someone else. Buyer beware! read more

The job was completed less than 24 hours after my first phone call. They came out within a few hours of receiving my call to look at the job and provide me a quote. They arrived first thing the next morning!! The crew was amazing...hard working, efficient, and cleaned up every last stick! I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

Terrible business company, I paid them over 7 thousand dollars and take down 4 trees and stumps. They barely remove any stumps and roots. We didn't find out until 6 months after, since we got it done in the winter time. Been trying to get a hold of him but doesn't pick up. Kept calling and calling but SHAWN doesn't pick up. Below is the invoice and pictures, I'm in the process of suing this crook . This is recent dated 8/13/16, stay away from this company that run by a crook, thief, unprofessional business person. We tried renting the grinding machine and do it our selves, but its not my specialty and couldn't do it. Then we hired a competent profession to do the job. And guess what SHAWN crook, You're going to pay for all of that and some of my days off and suffering. I'LL SEE YOU IN COURT. read more

My rating is low but first let me say that the crew was very courteous and left the job site nice and clean. They would have received high marks if the job had been quoted properly but I felt like it was a bit of a "bait-and-switch." The job turned out about 50% more expensive than quoted. The crew started when I wasn't home, which was my mistake. My quote was to "cut away from all houses" but when I arrived, the foreman said that he could trim away from the houses for what was quoted but if I wanted it done right I had to pay more. When you get a quote from a professional you expect that it's for a job that would be done right. If there are other ways of doing the same job, then give me a couple of quotes. Then I get to choose, right? Since the job was already started, I felt like I had no choice but to pay more to have it "done right" or the crew would leave and I would still have to hire someone else to finish. In their defense, we did add more to the scope of the job than originally planned (another tree) and I have no problem paying extra for that. I do have a problem with being quoted one price for the job and then halfway through being told I have to pay more to get it done "right." Anyway, make sure when someone quotes you for a job you are: 1) there to ask questions, and 2) get very specific in what you want or the contractor will start playing semantics with you. Brennen Tree Service is FABULOUS! My Dad is 83 years old, and a few of our trees broke during a bad storm/hurricane here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We contacted Brennan Tree Service and got a call back the SAME DAY, and the owner came to look at Dad's yard the same day. The NEXT DAY they took everything damaged out of the yard, trimmed all trees, removed ALL DEBRIS - not a leaf remained on the ground - and did a PERFECT job! We prayed beforehand when looking for someone to help us out, and God sent us Brennan Tree Service. We are very happy and overjoyed with the work that was done. This is a GREAT company with a WONDERFUL owner and wonderful staff. A+ and 5 stars for Brennan!
