Food was great. Fish cooked perfectly. Would've given a 5/5 but they said the kitchen was backed up and we had had to wait about 50-60 mins from our app to our entries. But well worth the wait.

When I think of a fancy restaurant, I usually imagine tiny portions. This place was the opposite - the portions were large. And the food was tasty. We made reservations online and went Tuesday because it was already booked up for the week. So I'd suggest making reservations a lot earlier. Our waitress was amazing - so friendly and fun. She was very personable and offered recommendations when I asked. Their menu changes weekly and is on posted on Facebook. We enjoyed the bread while we reviewed the menu. A lot of good sounding items. We got a shrimp appetizer with blue cheese. There was so much shrimp. Also, my tuna entree had so much crab on top. We finished with the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. So rich and perfect to share. We'd definitely come back.

Appetizers and mains 4.5, but desserts a 2 at best. Torn on rating it. Lobster escargot was really tender and cheesy with a bit of crunch from bread crumbs (a nice touch). Tuna steak was excellent quality; soft and tender with a very good wasabi sauce and rice with veggies on the side. Korean medallions were very tasty, tender, pleasantly portioned, and cooked perfectly to order. Considering the care and preparation of the apps and main dishes, the desserts were very lacking. We ordered desserts because we anticipated the same degree of success as the other dishes. The Pecan pie was cold, dense, and had the feel of a grocery store mass produced pie. The same went for the flourless chocolate cake. They could have easily raised the level of dessert simply by heating the pie and serving a flourless molten cake (especially considering the season and warm desserts are better suited). Overall, the sense of pride of ownership is obvious and the food is definitely taken seriously... but unless the dessert menu is rectified... save the money and calories on the dessert options.. would definitely eat here again!!!

Went there last night for the first time and I was not disappointed. Great food, cocktails and attentive staff. I will certainly be back to try new options from the menu since they change weekly!

Scallops, risotto, broccolini. Not one bite left!

Brent's Bistro hit it out of the park last night for my husband's leap year birthday celebration. Ambience was intimate but welcoming, service was upbeat and knowledgeable without being pushy or imposing, food was scrumptiously special and portions were stick to your ribs! We don't venture off our side of town very often but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for these weekly meal drops to take the drive and break bread here again real soon!

Excellent experience tonight! Brent Bistro is hard to get in for dinner for a reason. It is magnificent! I had made reservations a few weeks in advance for a party of 2 at 530. On the outside it does not look like anything special. However, inside is very nice. There is a bar area and a dining room that is rather dark and seats about 20 tables. There is also an outside area that is enclosed but it is nicely lit and has heaters and fans. I actually like the outside area better. Our servers name was Ryann and she was totally amazing. I could see myself being friends with her. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and about all things Brent's. The menu changes weekly and only a few items are kept on. I had the veal piccata with asparagus and Parmesan risotto. I loved it. It was done perfectly and the risotto was great. I also had a small Caesar salad with anchovies. It was probably my favorite Caesar salad in town. The bread was delicious that is served the meal. My friend had the crab stuffed shrimp and they were heavenly. The menu is a nice mixture of land, sea and delightful apps. My friend had the peanut butter cheesecake for dessert. She loved it. I highly recommend this place for a nice date or for a really great meal with friends or for work.

There is an elevator you can take to the 2nd floor. Had a nice view of the ocean from our table. We didn't have enough time to check out the beach since it became dark early. There are quite a few steps to get down to the beach area from the restaurant (since it is on the 2nd floor) and you will need to walk a short distance. We started off with the Pork belly banh mi sliders appetizer, which were an excellent choice. I loved the crunchy bits of the sweet and salty pork belly. For entrees we had the handhelds Bacon jam B.L.T. and Vegan burger. The Bacon jam B.L.T. was great. The vegan burger was okay - I didn't like the flavor as much and the big raw onion slice. Both entrees came with a choice of a side - we chose fries and sweet potato tots. Fries were good. Sweet potato tots were not bad but not as crispy compared to Mess Hall's tator tots. Also had the pesto flatbread with balsamic glaze, which was good. The flatbread was more on the softer side. It sure made for a tasty leftover snack. Service was okay. Highchairs are available. They have a Kids menu/coloring page with crayons. Would come back to try other foods.

We started off with the squash soup which was DELICIOUS, as well as the cornbread that came drizzled with a really good honey. For our main meal we had the mahi sandwich which was alright (a little fishy) as well as the turkey sandwich which was good. Overall we liked our experience and would come back to try other items from the menu !

The culmination was a lovely sun kissed luncheon on the Crystal Pier seated where we could catch the breezes and see the rolling surf. Having grown up in Wilmington, I was blessed to have the delightful experience of enjoying freshly caught fish lovingly and skillfully prepared by my mother. It has been years since I've truly enjoyed fish. On Saturday, my lunch choice was the Fresh Catch which was locally caught Sea Bass, hand cut and pan seared. It was seasoned to perfection with just the briefest dash of salt and spices and lightly browned by the pan searing. It was served with grilled asparagus and a bed of rice with an elegant white sauce. I don't know when I've enjoyed a meal so much. The lovely end to the meal came with a tempting and delicious slice of Key Lime Pie. Vera G.

Clear skies and 80 degree weather it's an early glimpse of summer in Wrightsville beach and the area is buzzing. Needless to say Oceanic was the perfect spot to bring our parents for dinner that night. I got the Sage-roasted chicken with potatoes and asparagus and I ate every bite of it. I eat chicken almost everyday at home and am shocked at how good this tasted, the sauce was delectable even the asparagus was admittedly delicious. Aside from the food, our view from the corner table was so incredible it bumped my review from a 4 to 5 stars! The whole experience came as a complete shock to me as I had long been told that you pay for the view at Oceanic while the food was mediocre at best, which I can honestly say is simply not the case. I loved every second of my time at Oceanic and highly suggest a visit when you're in the area!

We decided on a date night out while in town, and have had Jerry's on my list for a little while…read more We made a reservation the night before for Saturday night. Reservations are recommended since the dining room is cozy and they might not be able to accommodate you without one. The place is so cute inside, very cozy with fresh roses on every table. We were seated toward the back against the wall, which is great. This table had comfortable high back chairs that seemed just for the tables for 2. Our server came by and introduced herself and said warm bread was coming. We had filled water glasses and took our order for additional drinks. We had a chance to look over the menu. The menu is small, but has a nice variety of favorites that you will find it easy to choose. I asked if there were any specials, but not on Saturday night. Friday night has a short rib special you could call ahead and reserve. That is a nice tip, since she mentioned they may run out. We decided to start with the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad. Beautiful presentation on the soup and an amazing flavor. So delicious. The salad is very large and looked great. They brought out a second basket of bread with delicious herb butter. I really had to stop eating the bread! For entrees, we went with the goat cheese crusted grouper, with had beautiful puréed potatoes and squash and zucchini. I wasn't sure if I would like goat cheese with grouper, but it was a fantastic pairing. The scallops were large and crispy on the outside on top of a spinach risotto. So rich and tasty. The grouper paired well with a Pinot Grigio. The server went over the dessert choices and there were several to choose from. We decided on a chocolate toffee mousse cake. So incredibly rich and delicious. If you love chocolate, get this cake. My hubs and I shared one slice and it was enough after a filling dinner. Jerry's is located in a strip mall near the Wrightsville Beach area. It is very unassuming from the outside but, this place does service, atmosphere and food in high standard. They have been here a long time and it's clear the locals love it. This was my first visit, and will definitely return for the next date night or special occasion. 5 stars
