So fun. The young woman working was very friendly and knowledgeable, and made ordering was very easy. There were so many choices online, it help to go in. We had a little trouble with the cooking, it simmered but didn't boil so took longer than expected. We also used too much of the spice so it was way too salty. That wasn't Topsails fault though! The seafood was delicious and a really fun way to have a meal. I think the cornbread should have been included though. Next time we will make our own corn and cornbread to go with it. read more

We had my son, his family, and my wife's close friend from Minnesota over for dinner. I thought serving The Low Country Shrimp Pot would be enjoyable, especially for our guest from Minnesota. We ordered online and then went to the Wrightsville store to pick up our order. The store was clean, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. The meal included: - 3 lbs. Large Shrimp - 1 lb. Andouille Sausage - 8 Pieces of Sweet Corn - 10-12 Red Bliss Potatoes - Homemade Seasoning - 5 containers of Cocktail Sauce - Paper tablecloth (also used for cleaning up) - Instruction card I also ordered the following additions: - Extra Corn and Potatoes for $6. 00 - 2 dozen Little Neck Clams for $20. 00 - 1/2 pound Andouille Sausage for $6. 50 - 1 pound Kielbasa Sausage for $13. 00 - 2 Lobster Tails for $30. 00 The meal preparation was easy, involving just a few steps. First, remove the protein and add wine, beer, or water. Second, steam the vegetables for 30 to 40 minutes, depending on your stove. Third, add the protein back with spices and cook for an additional 7 to 9 minutes. Lastly, drain and serve a delicious meal. Cleanup is simple; roll up all the shells in the paper tablecloth, put them back in the can, and you're done. One small criticism I have is about how the add-ons are delivered. Only the lobster tails and clams were in separate packaging; the extra vegetables and sausage were mixed in with the regular ingredients. Making it difficult to verify if you got all you ordered. I usually don't give a five-star rating on the first visit, but in this case, everything they promised was true. We enjoyed a delicious meal that was easy to cook and could be enjoyed by people who don't like shellfish (I would prepare separate meals for them). They could not find my order made and paid for on line. We called before pickup and was told that they don't have our order. Went for pickup with the receipt. The order was not ready because no one looked into the order. Receipt was given and I was asked was I an honest person. The order was made up thinking that it may not be paid for. Before leaving the store the order was found on their computer. Inexcusable! Again, the pot was made up with the thought that "I might be giving away $300 worth of seafood." This is such a fun dinner to have with a group or while on vacation. I've had the steam pots from both Topsail Beach/Surf City and Wrightsville Beach and each time they don't disappoint. I like the fact that you can customize your steam pot based on number of people and can adjust for your liking. The seafood is always fresh and we always have leftovers. Cooking instructions are simple and to me having a steam pot dumped on a table layered with paper is quintessential summer. After you're done, wrap the whole thing up in the pot and dispose. What a very unique idea! This was so perfect on our beach trip. We had originally gone there thinking it was a restaurant only to find it's more like a seafood market. You pick your seafood, seasoning etc. They prepare your "bucket" and all you do is add 2 cups of water or beer to the pot and cook it on your stove for about 30 min. We had the Cajun seasoning with crab legs, shrimp, and scallops. The pot also includes potatoes and corn on the cob. It was delicious and we enjoyed it! We felt like seafood today, and decided to try something different. It couldn't have been easier, all the ingredients packed in the pot. Staff was very helpful picking which package to get, and explaining instructions. We got the Shrimp and Crab Legs, but you can mix and match whatever you want. We brought it home, added beer and were eating a half hour later. Take their advice and eat outside if you can - it does get messy. A paper tablecloth is included, it made cleanup a breeze. We folded it up to gather the shells & scraps, stuffed it into the pot and threw it in the garbage pail. We'll be back for a larger bucket next time company comes by. read more

We were staying in an Airbnb, and had a lovely patio and a great kitchen, and we were able to put it to great use with us. This is a nice looking place but it is really deceiving. To be clear, topsail steamer is not a restaurant and I wish they would advertise that instead of otherwise. You have to do all of the cooking and work yourself at an expensive price point. To me, they should be listed as a grocery store rather than a restaurant because of the fact that they are just re-selling raw seafood. This is the biggest ripoff ever. Place is a glorified seafood grocery store. They supply it in extra small portions and you have to do all of the work yourself. It's very expensive for a small amount of food which you have to cook at home after buying for top dollar. Feel free to try this tourist trap but keep in mind that you would be getting a much cheaper meal by getting the materials yourself. read more

I'm not one to grade anything five stars. But this meal from start to finish made my already great day at the beach just superb. We are at Wrightsville 1-2 times a summer. We have tried just about every seaside restaurant in the immediate area. I wanted something new, authentic, not fried. Im a native Rhode Isalnder who transplanted here 6 yrs ago, so seafood is important to me. I bumped into Topsail on google and never looked back given the description and pictures. We werent necessarily looking to dine out after a full beach day so... boom. The stars alligned. Only thing i personally would have changed was i prefer my shrimp shelled, always. But thats a preference. When i say i decided and didnt look back, i did literally... i also didnt ask for price (except for a lobster tail). So... that said some may want to know the cost of the meal. I wouldnt call it a frugal purchase, but worth every penny. My gf and i had a meal serving 2-3 plus a lobster tail, and we still have like 2lbs left. Best seafood meal ive had in yrs, best ever in NC. Thank you Topsail, ill be back. read more

We were so impressed with this whole experience! We ordered the large crab bucket and it was delicious and plenty of food for 4 people. The instructions are simple and requires no prep except adding water! This whole concept is genius and we will be doing this again for sure. I also loved how friendly all of the employees were during my two trips in the store- and they didn't try to up sell me on the mallets and crackers which I appreciated- even though I'll probably buy a cracker next time I go in! I highly recommend this place and can't wait to have future guests of ours get to experience this meal without me having to shop and prep it myself ;) read more
