After some severe leaking issues (puddles in the basement every time I showered), the problem was discovered and remedied and I've generally been quite happy with the job, with the minor exception of the appearance of the inside "wall" supporting the threshold which is visible only from inside the shower. As I recall, at the time I left a positive review because even though the tile guy couldn't figure out the leak, the owner took it upon himself to investigate and fix the issue. Since then I've noticed an ever-increasing amount of mould under the silicone caulk between the shower floor and walls, so decided to remove it in order to clean up the mould and re-caulk, and it turns out that from six inches away, the tiny little inside wall supporting the threshold is a lumpy, uneven mess of grout (or thinset or concrete - I think grout), not tile, the caulk was applied in patches and is impossible to remove as it's become one with the pores of the grout, necessitating grinding away some of this grout wall, exposing a huge void under one end of the threshold which appeared to have been filled with a combination of gobs of grout and silicone caulk. It's quite frankly been a nightmare grinding the lumpy grout wall in order to remove the silicone caulk. I don't know why the threshold wasn't set directly on the shower floor - oh yes, because that's also a lumpy, wavy, uneven surface!

If you're looking for a flooring company, stop looking, you've found them…read more Luminous Flooring exceeded every expectation I had for my kitchen remodel. From the first conversation to the final walk-through, every member of their team was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. They made what could have been a stressful project feel easy, and they always showed up with a positive attitude (and a good sense of humor). I'm glad I made a decision to go to the Caseyville Home Show and met these folks. We ran into a few challenges along the way (this is an almost 100 year old house with original floors). They worked with me every step of the way to find solutions and make sure everything turned out right. That level of customer service is hard to find these days. The craftsmanship is outstanding. The attention to detail is obvious, and the finished floors look absolutely incredible, and the price was very reasonable. I couldn't be happier with the final result. It's also refreshing to support a family-owned business that clearly takes pride in its work and treats customers like people, not just another job. I recommend Luminous Flooring without hesitation. If you're comparing flooring companies, you can stop now -- these are your people.

The newly refinished area blends seamlessly with our existing flooring -- you would never know where the old ends and the new begins. Their craftsmanship is truly exceptional. While the entire company has been wonderful to work with, I want to especially recognize Jesse and Ray, the two technicians who completed our project. These two went above and beyond from start to finish. They took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all of our questions with patience and clarity, and treated our home with genuine care. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the experience outstanding. Jesse and Ray are true assets to Luminous Flooring, and because of them, we will gladly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality flooring work. Five stars all the way.

I was searching for a family-owned mid-sized company to get both good experience and reasonable prices and I feel that I got just that. Luke's communication from the beginning was good. I always felt that I understood what we were going to get. He was clear and honest about what was included and what you needed to provide. This process was a bit different than I was used to but not difficult. I would only recommend that you pay attention to what you need to get with an eye on your budget. We were on a wait list for about 2 months or so (which is a good sign of a contractor in demand) and the project started close to the estimated date. Luke and EJ are extremely professional and pleasant which makes it easier to have in your home for an extended period. We were pleasantly surprised how extremely neat and clean they kept the house during the project. Each day after work they cleaned up including vacuuming and neatly placed everything out of the way. Each morning they set up to work. The quality of work and how everything came out exceeded expectations. I am in the architectural and construction industry and consider myself to have a critical eye for detail. Being one aspect of my job, I inspected the work closely to find anything that I was not satisfied with such as tile level, grout joints, fixture installation, caulk lines, etc. and I could not find a single thing that I would actually call him back for. A single light fixture needed the wiring corrected. That was it. I highly recommend Luke and EJ for your home projects.

The homeowner would not stop talking about how professional Greg was and I agreed. When I spoke to the owners of Handyman I told them what the homeowner said and I told them how I felt the same. I hired Local Handyman-St. Louis (167 Lamp and Lantern Village, #129, Chesterfield, MO 63017) to replace the wood area surrounding my front door and sidelights, paying $2,200. My request was for a full removal and replacement of the wood surrounding the door with PVC. Instead, the company performed a surface-level "capping" service, nailing thin PVC pieces directly over the existing wood. The merchant later confirmed in writing that structural framing and jambs were entirely excluded from their work, despite charging a price point that represents a full system replacement in the St. Louis market. Furthermore, the workmanship left the front door weather-stripping misaligned and initially highly difficult to lock. While a technician returned once to adjust the weather-stripping, the door remains at times physically resistant and difficult to lock and unlock. Proceed with caution if you expect comprehensive structural replacement for premium pricing from this company.

Nick was very responsive to my email request for a quote and came out the next day for measurement which was great. That is all I can say positive about this company. I think the biggest problem was that I did not know what I wanted and thought he would be able to provide some guidance on decisions like finished vs unfinished hardwood, what species would be best for our needs, and quality companies to use for supplies. I was very wrong. Nick never actually answered any of my questions, just responded with vague information in a very rude, accusatory undertone. After multiple days of back and forth text messages just trying to get some information to help guide my decision he gave me Susan's phone number to speak in person. She was very kind and was able to answer all of my questions in just a matter of minutes. I could hear Nick in the background badmouthing me while she was answering my questions. I told them my expectations when spending several thousand dollars with a company is simple courtesy and customer service. A few hours after that phone call Nick texted me to tell me they would not be working with me and good luck. Just a very rude man who has no interest in working with his customer at all. Maybe if you know exactly what you want this company would be the perfect fit for you, but if you are looking for any guidance or help at all on your flooring journey, save yourself the time and frustration and call someone else!

He was so honest that my parents trusted him to work on the floors even where they weren't home. The hardwood floors turned out great and professional looking. I thought a lower price meant lower quality, but I was surprised to see how good the floors look.
