Went to a table to patiently wait when my husband realized they didn't add the tomato danish(about 1 minute after transaction) He had to get back in line to ask what the mix up was and order it again. Cashier told him she misunderstood that we "didn't want the tomato danish". We didn't get the danish because it sold out (Understandably so, it's super yummy) while my husband was in line. As folks from the industry, we understand mishaps can happen, we still love this place and will still come back. This experience was just disappointing and could have been completely avoided. You wouldn't necessarily expect elite pizza from a bakery, but Bresnan's has the most delicious pizza, at least in my opinion. The crust is made from sourdough, and the cheese, sauce, everything about it is just amazing. All of their pastries are delicious too, but I honestly go for the pizza. It has this crispy, thin sourdough crust, and I normally don't even eat pizza crust, but I eat every bite of this one. The people there are also so friendly and helpful. This place was absolutely packed on a saturday morning wow. Really reminds me of my favorite bakery in Houston. So many different pastries here, only wished I was able to sample more but that's the bane of solo traveling! Fantastic line up of chocolate almond, pain au chocolate, and traditional crossiants. Got the: NY style Spicy Soppressat pizza slice - 4/5 IMO. It definitely does remind me of NY pizza. Quite large slices, generous meat portion, crust/dough was great and as i expected from a bakery! Veggie quiche: 2/5. Honestly really could have gone without this. The redeeming factor is the crust was great but I was hoping for more flavor from a veggie quiche. I know there's no meat as its a veggie quiche but it was pretty bland overall Chocolate almond crossiant: 5/5 now this was so worth. From cross referencing google reviews it looks like this place is more known for their crossiants and it was great and worth it. TLDR; amazing pastries and breads, even better customer service! Patronize them and buy everything! I cannot remember the last time a business went above and beyond for me. I've worked in retail my entire life from groceries to luxury goods, and to say that I'm impressed is saying a lot. Most small businesses strive to do more for their customers out here, and we all appreciate it! But leave it to me to show up for the first time and not be parked close enough to keep my dog in the car with the air on. We couldn't find parking close enough. But he's also an extremely skittish rescue and it shows. I saw two women on the side of the building, clearly working. They looked like they were discussing business so I asked them if there was any way I could place an order online for pickup. They don't do same day order pickups. That's fine - they're clearly always busy. One of the women suggested that I could tie my dog to one of the posts they had along the sidewalk. But the other woman saw my hesitation and told me that she's a dog person and didn't mind holding his leash while I ran inside. This angel of a human clearly saw how relieved I was when she offered that option so we did just that. The very long and stocked glass display inside has multiple postings of what the offerings of the day are. The girls behind the register were extremely patient and sweet. It's busy on a weekday even so make sure to mosey over to the side if you're still deciding, like me. After I ordered a few items, I was talking to the girl who rung me up and it turns out the owner was out there being accommodating to me, the frazzled customer lol Country sour boule - 10/10 perfection Salted chocolate chunk cookie - 9/10 cooked a bit more than I prefer but generous on the chocolate chunks and the bits of salt and cardamom (?) take it to an artisanal level for sure. Subtle enough and not overpowering Roasted tomato danish with basil pesto and mozzarella - 10/10 thinking about this right before lunch is making me hungry. The laminated layers of pastry paired with pesto, tomatoes, and mozzarella bits are a mini gourmet savory treat! Roasted pineapple and passionfruit danish - 10/10 if you don't like tart, I would advise staying away from this one since it packs a very good punch. The passionfruit custard is generously applied throughout and while I'm not a passionfruit fan, I would get this again. Not after I try everything else on the menu first though! Things that I'll pre order and be back to try include, but aren't limited to: pain au chocolat, cinnamon rolls, jambon buerre, snickerdoodle cookie, ok never mind I literally want to try everything. When I walked out this morning, I had to thank the staff. Not just for kindness and delicious food, but for existing in the first place. Bresnan has become my home away from home in a lot of ways. I run here in the mornings for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. I drive in the afternoons for slices of pizza. I even come again on weekends during long walks with my daughter. This place used to be mine when I first discovered it, but now it's somewhere for my daughter and I to connect and spend time together. I love exploring new pastries and baked goods with her. I even love it more when my wife tags along to take us both out of our comfort zone with a new flavor bomb. I'm never disappointed, only satisfied. The sourdough pizza, wow!! Go early, place gets packed! One if the many gems in downtown McKinney.

The moment I stepped inside I was transported back to one of my favorite places back home in San Diego. The smell of fresh bread spread a smile that spread across my face. I was so joyfully greeted on this cloudy & rainy morning. I immediately wanted one of everything, so I asked for a moment to take in all the wonderful offerings and make my selection. I immediately knew I wanted fresh bread to take home & selected the cinnamon raisin bread loaf. They kindly sliced it for me before bagging it up. I also chose the Banana Nut Muffin with Chocolate Chips. I planned to take my goodies home, but barely made it to the car before I dig into the muffin and ended uo finishing the entire thing in the car - it was SOOO good and so filling! When I got home I dug into the bread. My favorite bread back home was the raisin hazelnut and Bresnan's cinnamon raisins is better! Full of soft raisins the bread, while I hate this word can't think of a better description, was moist. I ate another slice and then my son (picky eater) asked for a bite. He was so impressed he asked for a slice. It's been 24hrs and there are 3 slices left! I may have to go back again this week to get another loaf. There will be many more reviews of Bresenan to come as I plan to go back and try other breads as well as the baked goods and cookies. I also plan to bring a book on one of these visits. Maybe set up in the beautiful window seats or a cozy and quiet table to enjoy my fresh baked treat with a coffee and relax. read more

I love Bresnan so much! Genuinely amazing people who run this bakery with high quality pastries and a huge space to sit. I have had everything from the butter croissants to the danishes to the full size quiche (amazing for Xmas by the way!!). My favorite pastry is the kouign amann, followed by the delicious blueberry cream cheese danish and broccoli cheddar quiche. Their coffee is also notably good, with a happy balance between coffee and sweetness. My only warning is that they often sell out of pastries - so get there earlier if you don't want to be disappointed! read more

On a Sunday morning stroll in search of coffee- I literally watched them open the doors out onto Louisiana Street and the smell hit me. Walked across and checked it out. The bread smells great! They took my order immediately- a raspberry-lemon danish and a cinnamon role (HUGE). Would like more raspberry on the danish, but it was light and delightful. The cinnamon role was pull apart good, with a creamy cream cheese icing. Really good! Don't know when I'll be back to McKinney, but can't wait to try some more of their offerings. read more

We visited this place on a lazy Saturday morning! After hearing about the bakery on IG we were excited to try it! Far warning though, they were sold out of many of their popular items by 10:30 AM. We got to try a ham and cheese croissant and a pain au chocolat! They were both the perfect combination of buttery and flakey! We got the pair as a perfect set of sweet and savory. We took the pain au chocolat home and warmed it up and it was even better! We also got a few ice vanilla lattes to go and they were delicious! You can tell that they make their syrups in house! We also took a Toffee and Pecan Sticky Bun home to try later and it did not disappoint! The flavor is delicious but it is a bit dense and a lot to eat at once so it was a perfect shareable treat! While the store is small the line does move quickly and the service is great! I'm excited to visit once the expansion is finished! Bresnan is one of our favorite bakeries to go to in DFW. It has a great location in McKinney Square where you can walk up to it from anywhere there. They usually sell out pretty quick on the weekends and there's always a line but it's definitely worth it to get there early. Our favorite things to get are the seasonal danishes. Yuzu citrus, blueberry, and pistachio are among our go-tos. They have the best sourdough we've had here. We go for the country sour (oval) and the inside is very airy and springy while the crust is very crunchy. It has the perfect balance and tastes so good straight up or toasted with butter and honey. It's always a great experience going here and it really does feel like a European neighborhood bakery serving up high-quality pastries and breads with a Texas twist. read more

I was so excited to go to this place! I've been wanting to go for months. Sadly, my experience wasn't the best...I went around lunch time and almost everything was sold out, which says a lot about how good the bakery is, but that didn't leave me with too many options. I got the quiche and I'm not sure if this was my mistake and maybe I should've asked for them to heat it for me...but it was cold, like cold from the fridge,so I didn't get to eat it. This is the cutest bakery in McKinney downtown. Love their croissants, the almond and chocolate one are so good. They also have seasonal vegetable and fruit pastries (savory and sweet), we tried the rhubarb and tarragon pastry which was unlike anything I have ever had. I had a friend visiting from out of town and she told me she really wanted a cardamom bun. So I went to work to find a place we could go. Bresnan was the one place that kept popping up, so we drove all the way from Carrollton to check out some delicious pastries. We got the orange cardamom bun, the kouign amann, sour cream coffee cake, and cream cheese danish. Everything was so pretty and delicious! I thought the coffee cake was my favorite but the kouign amann really grew on me and was still very good even the day after. I love their London fog since they use Harney and Sons tea and in the summer they have this mouth watering strawberry basil juice that is already missed. A French bakery is alive and well on the McKinney Square. There was an actual Frenchman ordering pastries the day we were there - that's a huge nod. I happened upon this bakery one weekend while in downtown McKinney. On my first visit I ordered a Cinnamon roll, monkey bread, a baguette, a cheese danish,and croissant. Every thing I ordered was fresh and delicious the standouts were the monkey bread especially the bottom where the cinnamon sugar has Caramelized and the cheese danish that did not skimp on the filling. They are expanding the bakery which is a good sign. I look forward to the day where I have to get there early before the line is too long.
