Today, Nathan came back out and installed a ceiling fan in my living room. I have installed fans before, but have a vaulted ceiling and felt it needed a professional rather than a DYI installation. Once again, Nathan impressed me with his professionalism and attention to detail. I don't like working with electrical...I will do the occasional light install and such but I would rather hire a professional to do the more complicated jobs. Long story long to follow: We had 4 ceiling boxes that we wanted swapped out for fan-rated boxes. I found Gianni Electric on Yelp, requested a quote on the app over the weekend, they replied quickly with a few extra questions and took down my contact info. They got Alec out the next day for a quote, and he came back the following day for the install. We probably could have gotten the work done a bit cheaper if we went with some self-taught handyman off of thumbtack, and I could have done the work myself (though it would have taken me a lot longer and probably would have made a mess in the process); but plumbing and electrical are two things that are worth paying a professional who has a license and insurance for. The price was reasonable and pretty much spot on what we had guessed it would cost us before reaching out. The whole process was pretty painless, and we'll definitely use them again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends.

When the outlet behind my coffee maker started making alarming noises, we shut off the breaker and called our regular electrician. After two hours with no response, we tried another. Still no reply. Meanwhile, the refrigerator was off too, and we were not about to lose all our food. We turned to Yelp. The reviews looked solid, so we called. They answered right away. A few minutes later, we got a text saying Daniel was on his way and would arrive in 16 minutes. And he did. We described the issue, he inspected the outlet, and removed the cover. The receptacle was cracked in five places, with melted and burned plastic. It was a dangerous mess that could have turned into a serious problem. Daniel replaced it, flipped the breaker, and everything came back to life. No more crackling. Coffee maker working. Fridge humming again. We are very happy with the service and have added Johnathon Brown Electric to our go-to list. If we have another electrical issue, they will be our first call. Many others did as well but Josh was the only one who offered to come out that day and address (Sunday). Josh arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem and resolved it. He even had me simulate what caused the issue and looked over the other breakers. Ultimately, he determined we had a failing breaker and got us up and running Sunday until he could replace the problem breaker with a new one on Monday. I hired Ambidex electric to add two additional can lights and reroute my island light in my…read morekitchen. This involved rerunning some of the current can lighting to account for removing two previous lights. I had gotten a few quotes from various companies, a few in-person estimates from people who just didn't seem to know what they were talking about as well. However, Dayton, not only was able to quote based on my photos, his in-person quote came in exactly the same and was one of the most reasonable ones we got. He is extremely knowledgeable, was happy to walk me through everything he was doing, made sure to check and double check exactly where I wanted all the new lights, and kept me updated throughout the few hours he was here. After everything was done, the space was clean and all the lights exactly where I wanted them. He went out of his way to deal with funky wiring without missing a beat, and even clearly labeled all the wiring so we were able to install the remainder of the lights in the new holes (we had ceiling work done ater the fact so we waited to install a few ourselves) with NO confusion at all.
