Preliminary review -…read more Ive been "watching this space" since Firefly closed a while back. Hopeful it would be another cupcake place, but not at all sure what was coming. The sign "Everyday Gourmet" has been up for a while, but it was not open yet. Then I drove by the other day and saw it was open. Stopped in today first chance I had, to check it out. Cute cute cute space. They have it displayed nicely. A few tables in the front as well. They had perhaps 10 cupcakes ($2.85 each) on display today, and some other shortbread and related treats. I talked for a few minutes to the owner (I believe), who said they have their original location in Niagara Falls. They do a lot of catering I understand. Always good to know. While they have a rotation of perhaps 40 cupcakes, we tried the white cake with chocolate chips and buttercream frosting (forgot the name) and the peanut butter banana one. Both were well received. These cupcakes are not huge. They are a good size and have a reasonable amount of frosting. Personally I liked they way they flowed together. A sample of the shortbread left me wanting more. I'll be back soon for some other treats. Located just down from Ashkers, parking is street, traffic flow easy. Ill update after more visits. But I want everyone to know this place is open and to stop by and give them a try.

After having a foot long hot dog and cheese-fries at Sullivan's, and sitting on the deck we adventured across the street to this new establishment that opened at the end of July 2013. We were greeted by rows and rows of custom cupcakes. I was in heaven but unfortunately I let my wife choose for us. :) She made an excellent choice though, the Pina Colada Cupcake. It was so good and fresh and good. Now I wish I had gotten my own all to myself. I also noticed delicious looking brownies and other sweet delicacies. There is also a wide range of hot and cold drinks. The owner was there to serve and was very friendly and helpful. After speaking to her we learned that Everyday Gourmet is also a full service catering business available for both private and corporate catering and has been in operation for many years. The business card she gave us stated that their service includes custom menu planning, delivery, set-up, and break-down for your event. We will be back!

Nobody bothered to vacuum prior to the event and the ladies bathroom was so dirty I had to go to the front desk and them to have someone clean them quickly before more guests arrived. The staff member seemed to be very irritated by my request. Clogged toilet, toilet paper on the floor, a full trash bin, out of soap, 1 sink didn't work and there was water marks on the counters and mirrors. Two thumbs down once again. It could be issues such as taking care of your skin in the sun or grocery shopping nutritiously. The meal is usually "season-based", i.e. corned beef in March; turkey in November; lighter salads in the summer months. I get to see some other retirees I do not see otherwise and enjoy a very good and filling lunch. Today the lunch was a nicely displayed plate with a 1/2 pineapple carved out. The pineapple chunks were put back in the carved out fruit and topped with cottage cheese and a 1/2 strawberry. Next to the pineapple were several slices of honeydew melon and cantaloupe and a couple of slices of ham and smoked turkey. The meat was a bit salty so eating each bite with a bit of melon was a good idea. I will return next month.

They're located in the old Donut Craze spot on Somerville. Plenty of parking in the lot. Inside is nice, spacious and clean. The meal traveled well and was great!! I opted for the "Flying Solo" size due to the price points and I also happened to be flying solo during my visit! The "Flying Solo" size comes in a cute cup with one meat, one cheese, one side, and a pre-packaged honey stick. I am pretty much obsessed with prosciutto so I had my heart set on that as my meat selection. Unfortunately for me, that also meant a $3 up-charge. When I couldn't decide between a decent sized brie and the blueberry goat cheese, I agreed to another up-charge so I could get both for my side, I opted for the cornichons aka mini pickles. I should note the "Flying Solo" came with two crackers, albeit long crackers that could be broken up into several pieces (thankfully). In terms of service, the woman working was very pleasant and friendly. She described each of the meats and cheeses and shared A Board Above has been in their current location for about a year and a half. They had been using it for their industrial kitchen and opened The Graze Bar about six weeks ago as a solution for those wanting same day charcuterie boards. Bottled beverages are also available as well as some jams, etc. I would love to see items for purchase to make your own charcuterie in the future i.e., partnering with woodworkers in the area for the boards, cheese knives for sale, meat and cheese placards, etc. The location is small but packs a good punch. Easy parking right in front or overflow on the side of the buildings. I am sitting outside writing this review and enjoying my charcuterie. I should probably go back in and ask for a small plate to be better able to assemble and enjoy each of the items but I will make do. I can't speak to the pre-order options but it looks like there are quite a few! The Graze Bar is a neat idea that I'd recommend checking out. Note the price may increase if your preferences aren't included in whichever size you order.
