We wanted an electric hurricane screen installed on our west facing glass front door. They sent someone to do measurements and discuss connecting the electricity for the screen. They got two estimates for the electric work to be done to get us the best price. Don't bother with this company. They can't keep up with the repairs on the garbage they have installed. When I called for service they refused to schedule any repairs. The excuse we were given is that they are at least 3 months behind on previously scheduled work orders and not accepting any new work orders. I was told to use Google to find someone to repair their shutters. No matter how much money you might save using this company it isn't worth it when you need something fixed, especially in hurricane season. Warranties are worthless if they won't do the work. read more

It took over 3 months for them to give me an estimate, after they canceled on me at the last minute 3 times which cost me 1.5 days of work. when they finely show up for the estimate and they took my parts (stole it) he said he need it for the estimate .after 2 more weeks to get a price as they were the highest I told then no. Our experience with this company was a total nightmare. It was such a hassle. We ordered two shutters and it took TEN months to get the job done. They would claim they didn't have all the information to place the order, but they would make no effort to get that information. The people they sent out didn't seem to have complete knowledge of the product. When the order finally arrived.... they were the wrong color, white instead of brown. We stopped them as they were doing the first opening, but not before they had removed the existing shutter protection. Weeks later when the brown shutters arrived, they rushed the installation. The installation instructions provided by the manufacturer were not followed. They did not follow the instructions for fastener spacing, or fastener size on the buildout. One shutter was installed right in front of window glass with virtually no clearance. During Irma this caused the shutter to bang on the window and I had to open the shutter. Some screws were not retained and just spin in the hole. Other screws were crooked. Shutter parts were not properly seated. Scratches everywhere. We sent detailed emails and a certified letter describing the issues, and their management never responded. Eventually they sent out an installer who knew what he was doing and he completely redid everything. We give him credit, but we should never have endured all the trouble before him. read more

Stay away from these people. They sound great when trying to get your business, after you sign contracts they are terrible. Don't listen to them about warrantees, I just had to pay another co. To fix the crappy shutter on a door that was supposed to be covered but after 4 or 5 weeks still being told I was not on the schedule for at least a couple of weeks. I explained I had received an estimate and was ready to go under contract. She took my information (name, number) and said Darren was busy and would call me back soon. I waited.....5 days. Never received a call back. Finally had to call them back. Brenda acted surprised that I had already received an estimate, as if she didn't know. She said she would give my information again to Darren. I said "no thank you". Have been trying to get them to fix and won't even return calls or emails. Turnover is horrendous and it is like ground hog day telling different people the same story over and over and requesting for owner Thad to return calls and he won't. Unfortunately, you have to select at least one star. BSA should get zero. Do not even consider this company for your home protection needs. We contracted with them to install an Armor Screen hurricane curtain on the lanai in the back of our house, paid the required deposit and waited. After several weeks, we noticed that the check for the deposit had not been cashed and contacted them to see if there was a problem. They simply had not processed anything in regard to our contract, including ordering the measurements for the Armor Screen. After measurements and weeks of waiting, we suddenly get a phone call on a Monday morning from BSA stating they are going to install the screen - today! We rearranged our schedules at the last minute to make sure that someone was present. While they said the installers would be at our home around 9:00 AM, they did not show up until around 10:30. Installers were very nice, professional and went right to work. That is where the positives end. In trying to install the screen, they drilled 20 holes in our stucco and hung it incorrectly twice BEFORE they installed it relatively close to correct. They did run into some steel substructure that they did not know how to work around. (Our home is not a custom home and is a fairly common floorplan/design, so it makes you wonder how many installs they actually do.) They listened to my advice on how to find the spot to drill and drilled the mounting holes at the top. They did not install the bottom attachment points and said they had to come back the next day. They left at about 2:00 PM. Next day (Tuesday), after arriving at about 10:30, they finished the bottom attachment points and moved to a smaller screen the side of the lanai. They found that they had not been provided with everything needed to attach the screen to the wall. They left for the day at about 2:00. Next day (Wednesday) was a rain day and they did not show up, even thought they would be working under a lanai. Next day (Thursday) no installers showed up, nor did we receive a phone call from the office. Calling the office resulting in us being told they were scheduled somewhere else and would not be there to finish our work until the next day. Friday they finished the install. Total time spent actually working on the install was around 8 hours. A one-day install took a week, not to mention the extra 20 holes in the wall. They did patch the holes and paint them, but I had to go back over it and repaint it to make it blend in with the rest of the home. We received a bill for the final balance via email. I submitted a question via email but was never provided a response. Their customer service is atrocious. This company defies logic in how they can operate in this manner and yet be in business. If you want your job done correctly and in a timely manner, go to anyone else. read more

They don't return calls, most times don't answer their phone. They have been to the house several times and its always, they ordered the wrong part, something is incomplete, they lost something, on and on. When you do get a live person on the other end of the phone, they promise to get back with you and never do. This is no way to run a business. read more

My experience with Brevard Shutters & Accessories Inc. (BS&A) is as follows. I had new storm windows and sliding glass doors installed in my condo. This required that I completely remove a rolling storm shutter from outside of one of my sliding doors. The storm shutter was very old (pre-2000), so I trashed it with plans to replace it with a new Nautilus rolling shutter. I got a measurement and quote for a new Nautilus shutter from BS&A back in on April 18, 2017 and gave them the go ahead on April 22, 2017. It took almost a month to get it under contract in mid-May '17 including a 50% deposit. I was told it would take 4 to 5 weeks to get the shutter delivered from the Manufacturer (ESS). In mid-July when I still hadn't heard from BS&A, I called asking for status and to schedule the install. They told me the boss wasn't comfortable with installing the unit since it was not going to be mounted onto concrete, and that he requested that the contract be re-negotiated to remove the installation charge. I should have stopped at that point, but I really wanted the shutter, I assumed that BS&A were professionals, and I assumed that it had already been ordered. I signed a new contract. I called every couple of weeks, asking for status, and I was told that my shutter was in the manufacturer's queue, but that there was a backlog since the shutter was so popular. In September, I asked my wife (a paralegal) to get involved. When she got the same run-around from BS&A, she called the manufacturer (ESS) to find out what the hold-up was. She was told that they had never received an order from BS&A matching my shutter specs. She told BS&A what she learned, and they didn't have an explanation, but that they would order it immediately. After 1.5 weeks, my wife called ESS back, and was told that the order was received but was incomplete, needing further details. She was told by ESS that they had been trying to contact BS&A for over a week, to no avail. In late September '17, after over 5 months of BS&A failures, I insisted on canceling the contract. ESS told my wife that BS&A should not give us any trouble (such as a restocking charge), since the unit had still not been correctly ordered. I did get my full deposit back, but the owner was arrogant and made no attempt to apologize. I have since gone to another local Nautilus resellers, and they have been extremely easy to work with. I hope to have the new shutter installed soon. read more

I would never recommend this company to anyone. I called their office 83 days ago, and followed up 5 times since then for a repair. Eight months from execution of contract (February) until final storm shutter installed (October). The purpose was to prepared for hurricane season. This was a large job but no justifiable reason for finding missing or wrong materials during installation and 4.5 months of sporadic installation. This company has terrible business skills and does not emphasis on customer satisfaction at all. During the 5 months I waited to get my panels installed, I had to keep calling their office every few weeks to get status and personally visited them on one occasion. They would not provide a scheduled date for installing my panels and kept coming up with excuses. They would never return phone calls! When they did tell me someone was finally on their way on particular dates to measure, measure again and finally perform the installation, and they would miss those dates, they did not have the common courtesy to inform me about the missed appointment and to try and reschedule. Never in my life have I experienced such poor customer service!!! After the job was finally completed, they confirmed they tested the installation for every panel. Once I had the chance to install all panels to verify everything was in place and that I could manage the job, I discovered I was missing a few panels!
