Michels did my screen enclosure in 2005 (after the hurricanes) and it has held up pretty well. I…read morerecently had a broken hurricane support and called them. They gave me an estimate to reinforce enclosure and fix torn screens. They are not the most dependable but they got it done within the week and when I went to check I found a torn screen. so he came back out and also gave me the bill - which turned out to be double what we agreed on. He couldn't remember my cell and so could't reach me but my take on it was he should have estimated better -he's been doing this for a long time. Just recently I had another hurricane support break and I am calling someone else. I think they are high also - he gave me an estimate on painting my pool deck which was 2x what I got from another painter. Doug is a nice guy and I do not think he meant to rip me off but just not professional enough for my taste.

I submitted his diagram and description to the HOA architectural review board and it was denied, pending additional information. However, the screen door was approved. I forwarded the required information to Doug and all he did was text me a very poor photo of another diagram with more information, but not what the ARB wanted. Unsurprisingly it got denied again. Then I checked the reviews on Yelp and Google, which were negative. So I told him to forget the lanai and just do the screen door. Then he sent me a proper architectural drawing which cost him $200. But at this point, I really didn't trust him to do anything except my screen door and texted him I would pay the $200 for the architectural diagram he had made, but still did not want to go through with the lanai. I told him all wanted now was the screen door. He never answered the phone or replied to my voice and text messages. So he ripped me off!!! However, it was really my fault for not checking his references/reviews.

After they installed it they said that cost more & had to be ordered. Ok. after they installed it the door didnt work properly . They came out once & replace and adjusted new screen door handle. Since then I have texted at least 3 times because it slammed loudly & the it quit latching. Told me they would be out. they have not been back to fix.
