The food at the brew is so much better than typical bar food! I have enjoyed the Cajun Chicken sandwich with a green salad 3 times and now plan to always come to the brew when I am visiting Perham! The atmosphere is urban, in contrast to the quaint town of Perham. The on tap beer selection is outstanding. With a great selection on 32 beers on tap, Brew had my attention. Fried pickles and homemade chips where great. Had the Breuben (burger and a ruben) which was excellent. WOW--a must if you're visiting Ottertail County. We drove 45 minutes from Eagle Lake and it was worth every second. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and ordered the house aioli. The house aioli sauce for dipping fries was probably the best decision I've ever made. The service is terrific, staff is polite and knowledgeable. Our food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. We each enjoyed a beer--my husband the Chocolate shake stout beer (yum!) and I had the Magic Hat #9, a delicious pale ale. The total was $32 before tip. Brew Ales and Eats has the atmosphere--clean, dim lighting, TVs playing sports, and upper level dining area--the service, and amazing food and drinks. No other place in Perham like it. Great food (except the fries), great selection of beer on tap. Prices are perfectly fair. Love the atmosphere of the place! The home cut fries look delicious, but are really limp and soggy. That would be my only complaint. read more

Ultimate in cool places to eat and drink. This place wanted to be a cool bar with some good food and turned into a great restaurant with some drinks. The food is unique. You can throw a dart at the menu and you will hit something good. Always order the house chips with your meal. read more

What an amazing place! It's 2.5 hours from my house but I will 100% make the trip back here. Great beer selection and creative cocktails, and the menu is outstanding. My family has been to Brew a ton since it opened (four times this weekend, actually!) and I was finally able to get there on Saturday. We arrived for a late lunch with 11 people and were able to get tables upstairs to ourselves. The waitstaff was great and took care of us right away. I had tried the 2 Pigs and a Hen with the chips and sriracha aiol. Normally, a visit to the cabin has always included visits to the place that over uses the letter Z or other places with 3.2 beer, but I am going to request Brew from now on. So glad there is a place with good craft beer in the area!! Tried a couple of the mixed drinks and I was impressed! On a side note, my brother, cousin and sister-in-law would have been there five times in the last five days, but Brew is closed on Sundays. :( read more

Small towns mostly have cafes with bad coffee and supper clubs with too-salty food. Not in Perham! We found Brew and will definitely go back. The exterior and interior have a modern esthetic -- akin to Icehouse in Minneapolis with all the wood. The craft beer list is great (that's why we went), the apps were greasy, but grown up (get the gouda pickles), and I was delighted to find a Bahn Mi sandwich on the menu. It didn't taste like a real Bahn Mi, but was very good still. AND! The side salad was not iceberg lettuce! Needless to say, we're coming back. read more

This place exceeded my expectations! We stopped here for dinner tonight with four of our kids. My hubby had the shrimp tacos, our twelve year old had the Philly cheesesteak and chips, our ten year old had the patty melt and chips, our little kids had the cheeseburger and fries and I had the Philly cheesesteak and fries. First of all, the fries and chips were homemade and the fries were amazing! The shrimp tacos were awesome! Loaded with shrimp and a great slaw on top! The philly was really good! The patty melt was huge and good! We all cleaned our plates! We were impressed for such a small town place to have such amazing food! We would definitely come back again! read more

Have been here a couple times and typically great experience. The bar is really nicely decorated and they have a lot of beer varieties on tap. The latest stop here we had awful service. Our server was super inattentive and we actually ended up tipping the other server who was helping us more than our server. The thing that set us over the top was that we ordered a beer after our meal (wedge salad was great!) and instead of bringing us the beer, she brought us our bill without the beer even on it? Hip, big city brewpub in small town mixes the best of two worlds. The variety, quality of food and selection of microbrews is what one typically expects with larger cities. Now you can enjoy a craft beer from local microbreweries and then head back to lake cabin. We had Gouda pickles which were so Gouda. If you do not like puns that is not my fault. Maybe talk with a counselor. Anyway, I had 2 pigs and a hen burger which was a burger(cooked medium to medium well so a little dry and was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked, and was also a little bland-without the pulled pork and bacon(very good) and an over easy egg(more over medium). Overall, the burger had good taste and some minor changes may make the difference. A sauce or aioli may be helpful to counter the dryness. The fries were thin cut and crispy and some were very good but the risk with thin cut is many of them were overlooked. The decor is industrial chic with lightly stained concrete floors, rough wood finishing work, finished off with repurposed artwork including a framed piece of corrugated metal with artwork over the metal. The logo for the restaurant is two hop buds below the name so it can be safe to infer the proprietors are beer fans. You will not be disappointed when you visit this place and will want to come back for more. 4 out of 5 stars for the decor, good beer, creative sandwiches, service, 3 out of 5 for the burger I had. read more

I live in St.Paul, and Brew has the best tap beer selection of any bar I have been to in the twin cities. I have always gotten a great recommendation from the bartender, and they always have something on tap to suit anyone's taste. The food and the service here has always been great as well! read more

Just wanted to order some appetizers to go, so I sat at the bar. Bad choice, finally got a menu and was ready to place my order, but bartenders wouldn't even look my way. Finally a waitress noticed me and asked if I'd been helped, I said no, they seem to be ignoring me. Got my order and the food was good. I have to say not a friendly place, no smiles here.
