The staff were nice and I loved the atmosphere. However, the food was just OK. I paid $20 (with a 15% tip) for three chicken strips, fries, and a drink, and it all got tossed when I got home. What I found most off putting was the tipping. You go to the front to order your meal, get your own fountain drink, and then are prompted to tip 15%, 20%, 25%, or 30%. Who thinks simply bringing food to a table is deserving of a 30% tip? Maybe some people feel that way, but it felt excessive for the level of service. Found the Brew Bird by accident, but did get a referral from the place we stayed at. Yes, very funky, but get there early or there will be NO parking available. All I can say is that the place is CLEAN, great music, good service, and "all killer and no filler" food. This is real "stick to y'alls ribs" chicken and mashed potatoes. Unfortunately today getting 3 sandwiches (Chicken Cordon Blue & 2 Hot as a cluck), snack size Mac and Cheese and Large Butter and Parm noodles. Our sandwiches come out and waited a while for my 3 year olds mac and cheese and garlic parm noodles. Well about 15 mins (or longer) later they come out. They came in the same snack size and I wasn't going to complain because my 3 year old that's been patient for the past 40 mins being there and was hungry. Mac and Cheese was watery soup and Garlic Parm noodles was only a quarter of the snack cup. The garlic parm noodles were so dry, hard and old there was microwave burn on the noodles to hold together. Took a picture of the Mac and cheese as we were leaving and it was so bad the pasta didn't even wanna soak it up. (The pasta in the Mac and cheese was also extremely hard.) the milk/cream/water (whatever is was) was almost to the top. Entrees come with two dips, fries and a beverage. Now for the food which is the disappointing part. It took quite a long time for it to arrive. They were out of all waffle fries so they substituted their regular ones. They were very greasy and soggy and undercooked. The only nice thing was the seasoning on them. The chicken itself was also very greasy and not crispy. The sauce did not have a traditional southern sauce. It was very tomato based. I also ordered a small order of their slaw. That was fantastic- seemed very fresh. However, the small I received was less than 1/4 of a cup. It could be worth another try, today just wasn't the kitchens day. read more

This restaurant has a cool ambience and feel, we sat outdoor on the patio and enjoyed the cool breeze as we ate. Another cool part about this restaurant is the variety of sauces on the side. They are .75 cents per cup but the garlic parm, ranch, and brown sugar marshmallow were pretty good to dip into the fries. We were in Fargo two weekends in a row. We got this as a recommendation the weekend before & didn't make it. We ended up picking it up & taking it to the local cidery. I got the sweet potato quinoa salad with grilled chicken. This was pretty decent except they forgot the quinoa. It was just Mixed greens, roasted sweet potatoes, feta cheese, dried cranberries, candied pecans, & honey vinigarette dressing. It was bad, but I would have liked to get all the ingredients to really know. OMG Sprouts- these are glad fried with honey & mustard glaze. Not much flavor & were soggy & super oily. The sogginess could be from to go travel, but the lack of flavor and over oiliness was not great. Cauliflower Wings- lightly breaded which was nice, but lacking any flavor. They stated ginger & coconut milk marinated ...but we were unable to locate the flavor. It comes with a Thai peanut sauce which was solid! We didn't finish these. The boyfriend got the Hot as Cluck Sandwhich! It definitely had a great kick! Some like it hot and if you do, you'll probably like this place. Mostly chicken (duh!) but they had a few vegetarian offerings along with a burger so we landed here. Had the Thai salad - yummy but the dressing/sauce had a definite kick to it! My only complaint was too much of the core parts of the Napa cabbage but it was so filling that I just pushed those parts aside. Husband liked his (basic) burger but that also had the "kick" to it! Shared some waffle fries. Even though it was still hot at 6pm we chose to eat outside. Looks like they do a big takeout business including the firefighters who pulled up to get their dinner! Their online order is very easy and you can pick up inside or request curbside. For the food, I would recommend following any of their social media accounts. By doing so, you will get a good idea of how it looks, plus you'll find yourself craving Brew Bird. Most recently, they posted a pic of their weekly special "Chicks N Queso Sandwich" and needless to say as soon as both my wife and I saw it, we knew we had to get it.
