I appreciate that the GC (Jimmy) and the crew (Rob and Jason) wore masks in our house, as…read morerequested, 100% of the time (due to the pandemic), that they did a good job, as expected, and that Jimmy worked with us to arrive at fair pricing when we had to make adjustments for unexpected extra work. It's a long story, and it was not the crew's fault by any means, but my advice is to make doubly sure your grout color is right and that your tiles aren't warped or defective BEFORE the installation team arrives. (1) Regarding our grout mistake, don't go by the color sample you see at the home improvement center. Actually mix some grout and try a sample on some throw-away tiles before you have the guys start laying the grout on your actual floors. In our case, we (thankfully) noticed that the grout color wasn't right pretty early on before too much of it was laid out. Still, we had to have the guys do some extra work to remedy that, and that resulted in a price change (understandable since picking the wrong grout color was our fault and not theirs). (2) the 12" x 24" porcelain tiles we bought for our kitchen weren't perfectly level (they were actually defective and we could see it after the crew pointed it out). We learned that sometimes porcelain tiles created in the second or third run by the company come out less perfect than the first run. That resulted in the guys having to pull up some kitchen tiles and re-do that work, too, which resulted in another price increase (again, it wasn't the crew's fault that some of the tiles were defective, but we had to pay extra for the extra labor of replacing the bad tiles). We're happy with the end result, though. We're glad the guy laying the kitchen tiles (Rob) didn't go ahead and continue setting defective tiles. He prioritized the quality of the work rather than hurrying to get out the door to his next job, and we appreciate that. Take-home message: Even when you have a good crew and a good GC who works with you on fair pricing, things happen that are beyond anyone's control and that can complicate a job. So, leave yourself a little bit of money as padding, in case costs go over, and leave yourself some extra time, beyond what is predicted, for the job to be completed.

We used this company because they were the only installers for the specific flooring we wanted…read more The salesperson was responsive and helpful. The issue we had was in the flooring installation. They beat the heck out of our base moldings and left huge gaps in the corners where they didn't fit it back properly. A lot of unfinished Sheetrock now shows because their was carpet in some rooms before and they dropped the baseboards down. I feel like they should have suggested to keep boards at original level and use quarter molding. It took an extra day for them to finish because they didn't bring enough flooring and had to return the next day to finish. Also, AFTER the sale and installation the technicians informed us that they only remove toilets to install, they don't put them back "for insurance reasons" so we were literally left with a toilet in our garage and one in our tub. Also, they would not hook back up the washing machine. We had to pay a plumber for a Saturday after hours service to come out and put toilets in. Was I mad--heck yea!!! Am I still mad-absolutely!!! This is something you should DEFINITELY let your customers know prior to your installation. Ridiculous. We tried to reach the salesperson as soon as it happened but could not reach anyone to talk about our problem until after we had paid to get a plumber to come out. I. Their defense, we have not made any further attempts to talk to them. I give them 3 stars because the carpet layers did a wonderful job and I am pleased with their work. The flooring looks great -just don't look at my baseboards.

We used Don's to purchase our wood floors and the tile for a house we built 3 years ago and had a…read morelot of problems getting them to do what they said they would do then. We recently had a small water leak in a shower that had nothing to do with the tile, but the plumber thought he might have to replace some tile to fix the leak, so we went back to Don's to order more tile. My wife asked if they could be returned and the salesperson, Gerald, said that we could return what we did not use, so we ordered the tile. As it turned out, the plumber did not need to replace any tile, so we took back the tile. That is when Gerald argued with my wife that he never said we could return in and the minimum order to return would be 4 boxes. We had ordered 3 boxes. Had he said the minimum order to return was 4 boxes, we would have ordered 4 boxes so that we had plenty in case of breakage and the extra I would have put in the attic to possible future use. Gerald said he would have to contact the store owner about this case and he would call her. He never called us. I went back to pick up the tile that she had left with him because he had made her so upset by the way he spoke to her that she did not want to go back to the store. I picked up the tile and told them that we would NEVER recommend them and that we will NEVER do business with them in the future. If you do business with them, first of all they are expensive, but, more importantly, you better get everything they said to you in writing. Obviously, Don's Floor Gallery in Edmond, OK does not keep their word when they tell you something!!

The lack of knowledge with grouting a floor correctly and absolute zero customer service is ridiculous. If it wasn't for my builder using star flooring and my house still being under warranty I would not be using them. And I want to make sure other customers do not have to go through what we have gone through. Not only is the lady in the office rude, sarcastic and does not listen but the tile project manager can be a little snarky at times as well. After the original tile was laid, the company has now been out 5 times. Two times to fix the tile on my fireplace and it still looks terrible. Three times for the same tile issue on the same order. First they didn't bring the right grout and guy said his manager told him to not do the whole floor only spots, then they didn't do the job the right way again. And then again because they didn't have enough grout. This was me taking time off work and out of my schedule to accommodate their lack of knowledge, workmanship and professionalism. Now, here we are again......they still didn't do the grout right. They want me to take off work again to meet the project manager so her can inspect and again for when they come out to actually do the job. The tile itself literally has pitted holes everywhere, they didn't go all the way to corners, under doors or in tiled closets. And they have the nerve to ask me to mark every single place. I'm not sure what they don't understand about "everywhere" And it's super grainy with little pieces of rocky stuff sticking up. I have never seen tile and grout look so bad. And here is the other thing, my bathrooms needed redone too but I only turned in the living and kitchen area because it was so bad it would hurt your feet to walk across it and it was embarrassing to have ugly tile in a brand new house. $400,000 new house should not have these kind of issues. Check out my photos.

They want to fix 10! What a joke! Because my house is a complete disaster, I am going to be the one left to pay for repairs to have new tile, trim, paint, doors, basically everything after the "warranty period" of 12 months! It was approved to get all the hollow tiles replaced and then an upper management person came out and told me he has to hear the hollow with his knuckle for it to be replaced - what the heck?? They cannot pick and choose what is going to be replaced, bad is bad, not bad is bad here and not there! I'm so sick of all these stupid businesses getting away with shoddy work. Do not let them get away with this in your home!
