We loved this place!!! Super dog friendly!!! We had the fries with 3 dipping sauces, and they were incredible, I'd love to try more food next time. I loved that it was a brewery but they had other options for the non-beer fan like myself. I did try the beer though, and I was really impressed (even though I don't like beer!!). I never leave reviews, but felt compelled to with this place. My wife and I found it while exploring potential Finger Lakes region stops en route to Syracuse for the weekend. The photos and reviews of this place seemed good, so we stopped. Upon arriving, we were blown away at the beauty of the building itself. The grounds and building are both immaculate, and it got us excited to go check out. We were greeted by the extremely friendly host, who asked where we were from, how we found them, then gave us a brief history on the building before taking us to our table. Their goal is to transport you to Belgium, and do they ever do a nice job with that. From the beer selection to the food, it's truly a gem in a place I never would have ordinarily found. The beer was awesome, and the frites - people, get the frites - were some of the best I've ever had. They rocked that part. Service was great as well, and we even picked up a six pack (I did feel like $16 was a bit much for a sixer, but was happy to bring some home) and a t-shirt on the way out. If you're in the area, or even passing through CNY, I can't recommend this place enough. While I don't think we'll be back in the area any time soon, we'll look back fondly on our visit there! read more

This place is very eccentric and beautiful. Just passing through town and found it on yelp and decided to check it out. I am not a huge beer drinker so I didn't love my first drink but I fought a four back of the second one which was the tangerine wheat I believe. My husband got a flight and loved two and two were okay. He also got a bottle of their anniversary triple which he said was too floral and not as good as their regular triple. As for the food we got the Belgian frites with garlic aioli which were awesome, the pretzel which was good but the beer cheese it came with had almost no flavor, and the meat and cheese board which was served in paper cones. The pickled veggies were the clear winner of everything we ate. The meat and cheese were good but those veggies could be a solo appetizer that I would happily buy. All the waiters were so nice and very helpful and they all seemed to cover for each other which was nice no let me find your serviced just I would be happy to. It is very dog friendly which is a bonus as every puppy there got their own water bowl. It is definitely a place I would visit again but would also recommend if you are in the area. Top-notch brewery with authentically Belgian beer, in a beautiful, repurposed gate house. The exterior feels like walking up to a Swiss chalet, the interior feels like a German beer hall, and the beer puts the Craft in Craft Brewing. We plan to go back to sample more. A couple things detract, but don't knock this down to 4 stars. First, the food is good, but I don't think it's their strength. They're trying, and if you're hungry you'll be satisfied, but what we got, aside from the fries, was a small portion not commanding the price with its quality. We didn't feel as though the food pairings made sense either, for similar reasons. Also when we were there, it seemed as if the staff was shorthanded for what they were trying to do. But honestly the beer was priced reasonably, for its quality, and we were glad we went. We hope to see the dogs sometime. read more

Place is banging. Hadn't heard of this place and a family friend suggested we go today while in the area. This has to be the most beautiful building I've ever seen for a brewery, it's drop dead gorgeous. Honestly, the exterior and vibe reminds more of a winery than a brewery. Plenty of seating inside if you want, but a really big seating area outside. Only knock is I'm not sure if it was "brewery style" service or not but the servers were friendly and it wasn't that big of deal, we just flagged them down. I had the barrel aged tripel....x2 because it was that damn good. As a self proclaimed fry snob, I must say these frites were 5 stars too. Yet another reason to visit the Finger Lakes region. Stopped at the brewery for afternoon flights and food, and our time was well spent. We were greeted with friendly smiles and an offer to hear the history of the estate. Learning about the property made our experience all the more enjoyable. We enjoyed multiple flights and a charcuterie board under the outdoor awning. Plenty of picnic tables and chair groupings outside as well as plenty of indoor seating. My husband and I were in town from Boston. Went here on long weekend in October with family after a beautiful day at Seneca Lake State park. We are all originally from the area and my niece (also a Cornell grad!) suggested it as a great spot. It was late afternoon and not too crowded but lively. We were greeted at first by a server and let them know we had 11 in our party (including one child). The manager (or perhaps owner) came over and addressed us rudely and abruptly (all with a condescending smile) that all tables were currently reserved outside and it would be an hour wait. I then asked if we were able to split up our party to get tables inside or outside. She responded rudely again to us that that wouldn't be possible and repeated what she just said, treating me as if I was stupid. (Sorry, I got my PhD at Syracuse, not Cornell). I let her know that we would discuss. She then came back over and suddenly two picnic tables were available outside for our party. (there also were plenty of tables - and continued to be so - outside). "Would that be suitable for you?" she asked. I said, yes, thank you, because. that. was. what. I. originally. asked. for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole thing was bizzare and while the beer and food were okay and ambiance/location was beautiful, the initial greeting left a bad taste in my mouth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would try it again, but the pretentiousness of the manager was over the top. Wow. What a beautiful location to start with. My, wife, son and I were greeted warmly at he door by the owners father, who proceeded tos hare a bit of the building history with us. So genuinely happy and polite. It was nice to see other family members helping, participating in making everyone feel special. We date outside under the trees in the shade on some Adirondack chairs. Then the food and beer. Deviled eggs, home run! Rare to find on a menu so you know they were dedicated to getting them right. Pulled pork burger, delicious. Poulet fries, outstanding. The beer? Loved our visit to Brewery Ardennes on Saturday evening. They have cultivated the perfect atmosphere to enjoy high-quality old world inspired beers. Quality: Brewery Ardennes is a brewery made for old world beer fans, but can still excite those who like a little adventure in their beer. Honestly there was not a single beer on the menu I would avoid, but unfortunately we only had time for two Flights. We ordered the Biere De Mars, Pumpkin, NY Farm Saison, Belgian IPA, Belgian Wheat, Grand Cru Tripel, Grand Cru Dubbel, and Grand Cru Stout. On a lovely autumn day, the Grand Cru luxury beers are where you should aim your focus. The Dubbel was my favorite, but the Tripel and Stout were excellent as well. I also feel like we missed out by not ordering food, as the menu is much more than just pretzels and fries, though both can be found. They had lamb sliders, mussels, and grilled quail. They are a brewery that has comfort and luxury wrapped up in one package. Quantity: Standard size in the Flight with four 5oz pours. Value: $12 for a Flight. Ambiance: Brewery Ardennes is located in the Finger Lakes, not far from the small city of Geneva. When you pull up you will find a long green lawn with a few massive trees leading to a beautiful farmhouse. It is a gorgeous building, with a small covered patio near the entrance and lots of wooden Adirondack-style chairs around it. They aren't typical chairs, these are sturdy and made to hold beer and food. Inside the space is built around the large center bar, with a few tables in every direction. Fun alternative rock music in the background finished the good vibes. Crowd: It was a busy place. There appeared to be two larger events going on, but even without those groups it was still buzzing. Service: Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. They were efficient with getting beers out and had a good system for the food. My only recommendation is more printed menus or QR codes, because the screens have too much on them to be helpful. Parking: Massive parking lot located on the property. read more

I love Belgian beers - wheat beers, golden ales, dubbels, tripels, quads, sours, lambics, you name it - and drink very little else. When I learned that a local brewery specializing in Belgians had opened in Geneva during my brief visit to the town, it was as if I had struck gold: I had to go. The setting is great: A century-old barn, spacious and newly renovated, with plenty of tables for seating (appropriately distanced for COVID times). The outside patio is inviting as well, with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables, though the overwhelming presence of bugs in the early evening kept most patrons indoors despite the nice temperatures (perhaps some citronella lamps would help). I had the rare pleasure of being overwhelmed with appealing options, so I settled on a flight of four beers and got a fifth taster as well. The Belgian blonde was a pleasing starter. The cherry sour could have been both stronger on the cherries and also sourer, but it was refreshingly light. The dubbel was appropriately heavier and the tripel had a great full-bodied taste. But the winner - by far - was the saison, which was truly excellent. Practically exploding with flavor, it was one of the finest saisons I have ever had. They sell bottles (perhaps 500 ml?) of the dubbel and tripel; others must be purchased in a growler. I may go back tomorrow and get a growler of the saison to share with friends at a Memorial Day BBQ. (I would keep it for myself, but 32 oz. of an 8% beer would put me under the table.) Overall, it was an excellent experience. I will absolutely make a return trip the next time I'm in town. read more

This was our second time at Ardennes, we went this Saturday while visiting family who live in Geneva. We have loved the architecture, the beautiful setting and the beer was delicious. What was disappointing thai time was the customer service, especially since our family members are neighbors of Ardennes, frequent customers and members of the Geneva community. It was a nice day, and busy, and it appeared they were hosting a big group in addition to many other customers. However, instead of being made aware there was a wait, or offered to be put on a list, we were shuttled inside without any explanation. When we asked if we could sit at the bar, or order a beer and stand under the trees, we were unkindly told no, inside table only. It was confusing because less than 10 minutes later, we saw 2 couples seated at the bar, being served, and parties after us being seated outside. Unfortunately we were not the only locals that were not treated nicely, who left promptly. Really no excuse on a busy weekend to be prepared with a system, and friendly staff. An easy fix would be to have hosts/hostesses that are trained to be professional and courteous, and to have a real-time waitlist app. Or perhaps a beer-stand outside for people who just want to stand enjoy one beer under the trees on nice weekend days ? Hopefully this feedback helps the owners, but overall this visit the poorly-trained personnel overshadowed the beautiful setting and tasty beer. read more

Needless to say we won't be back. first when we walked into the brewery there were several staff standing around and not one person came over to greet us. We mentioned we had a reservation and it was as if we were bothering them. They previously had burgers on their menu that is no longer there and when we asked about that we received some rude remarks/stares. while the drinks were fine. The icing on the cake (or lack there of) would be the $20 truffle flight that comes in a prepackaged box that was just handed to us. read more
