Great brewery with a nice selection and plenty of seating! Went here on Labor Day weekend and was excited to try their Mango Wheat. It was super refreshing - highly recommend if you're into fruited wheat beer. They had a good selection of different kind of beers as well as local wines and NYS spirits. The music was great though loud making conversations difficult. The food was good,with several fun options. Our group of 10 ordered and enjoyed it very much. The downfall was the Service! The male bartender (owner) was smug and condescending, I placed my food order and asked if they had any iced tea, lemonade. He smirked said NO. I asked if they had water and you would have thought I was speaking in tongues! He then cringed and said " umbrella yeah, Penn Yan TAP water ". I said that sounds lovely. My son ordered his food and an alcoholic beverage which was received with less disdain. Then I was asked for my card for only a minute to which I replied I am paying cash and again he acted if perhaps I was from Mars. I firmly believe he may very well be from Uranus! When I went back to our tables, my group experienced the same attitude with him and even worse from the female bartender who was rude and impatient. So, first I am happy to drink Penn yan Tap water,I have lived here my entire life and love my town. Second, I would think an owner should be pleased that our group spent over $600.00 and are responsible enough to have a few adults drive without drinking alcohol! I only hope the tips we all left go to the kitchen staff who prepared the food. Lastly, the water container was emptied and refilled twice while we were there so Rock On TAP water. Location is family friendly, with plenty of space for kids to walk/around. Also, the patio is very accommodating to dogs. Food was very good. Having oysters on a menu full of fried items and pizzas seemed ambitious, and sure enough they were not available. read more

Didn't have any beer, but strolled through to see the lovely outdoor setting. Nice fall pumpkin decorations. Band was setting up to play around 3 pm. True Roots Kitchen is a part of this establishment. We loved the clean, bright and green vibe. Lovely succulents at each table. Outdoor window boxes with tastefully decorated plants. Wings were tasty. We shared the sweet and tangy mustard variety. The polenta fries were a delicious side. Nice vibe and good food in Penn Yan. Stopped here while walking through Penn Yan. The beers all sounded good and were low octane (7% or lower) with a wide variety. Pumpkin ale was very good! The Berliner weisse was good and so was the USAle. We didn't order food (took advantage of free popcorn) but it all looked and smelled good and the smashed potatoes and wings smelled amazing! They are dog friendly as well. We sat outside under the tent next to a heater, but the inside was cozy and had a nice looking setup. Definitely want to return and try more beer! The musician that day was very nice, sounded great, and walked around introducing himself and seeing if anyone had requests. read more

Very cute brewery isn't he back with a true roots kitchen in the front! We grabbed a quick dinner in the kitchen which was great, and then a flight to taste in the brewery. Very clean and modern and hipster for this area. And they certainly are busy too. But food came out real quick after we placed the order. Staff worked as fast as they could and were very nice. The shrimp burger was full of flavor, and the beef and cheddar burger was good too. The polenta fries were good but pretty heavy. The chicken wings were well cooked, we asked for sauce on the side and it definitely needs the sauce for flavor. Highly recommend trying their earl gray and mango beer! Torn on this place. The place itself is set up well, benches and tables outside, big open doors/windows for the inside, nice relaxed feel to it. Bartender was rather nice, and free popcorn. We were hungry, so we placed an order for corn fritters, pretzel, and the loaded fries. The corn fritters were not good, don't order them, the pretzel was pretty standard, not amazing and not bad. The loaded fries were quite good, and all of us agreed was the best thing we got. The beer was okay, some choices were better than others. Was cool to see Fort Hamilton distillery offered here too. Would stop by again if in the area, but not worth going out of the way for. read more

Funky spot off the alley with lots of friendly people and pups. My husband and I both ordered flights and enjoyed all eight beers! The music set a perfect ambiance. Unfortunately, the attached kitchen was not open while we were there, but we ordered pizza, and it was delivered in about twenty minutes. We would definitely go back! read more

Beer was great and the food was delicious. Tucked in the back of the building, their outdoor area was beautiful and had plenty of space for our large group. The owners, bartenders, and servers are so nice at this place! They accommodate substitutions to food, they get a lot of local music acts, and they have great wines and beers. But the food is awful. Specifically, it's all burnt. I've been three times: once was with my sister, when she got the pork sandwich (burnt) and the wings (blackened). Once was with my dad (whose flatbread was falling apart from overcooking when it arrived) and my husband (whose hamburger emitted an audible crunching noise when he bit into it). Once was with my cousin, who wisely ate only popcorn there. The fries have dark brown patches and are dry. The Korean bowl is overcooked. I don't know if their grill is way too hot or what, but I recommend sticking to popcorn and beer if you visit. read more

We recently visited the area and almost everywhere we went told us to come by here. So we stopped by for a late night dinner and to try the beer. There wasn't anything on the beer menu that caught my attention but my boyfriend tried some and said it was good. The food was OK. i ordered a burger that was very well done and had no type of condiments on it so it was quite dry but the fries were good but overall a bit disappointing. I would visit again and try something new though and give it another shot. read more

Awesome! But the chef needs to pay attention. When a customer tells him his and hers pork schnitzel is under cooked. He should look at it first. Not just tell us it's done. Understand the kitchen what's overwhelmed with the catering part of the business. But uncooked food is dangerous. Looking forward in going back!!!! Great team Service and in the kitchen. Laurentide is a standout in this town and frankly in the whole region. If you're visiting the area and looking for solid eats with a fresh atmosphere, this is the locale for you. We enjoyed the poutine and polenta fries in addition to the excellent local selection of beers and wine. The service was prompt and friendly.
