My husband passed in January and I contacted them within a few weeks to start making arrangements. They were just making the transition to the new business so there were a few no contact issues, but totally understand given the circumstances. As the event grew closer, I had some facilities concerns and they addressed every single one. Again, starting a new business. I worked with Honey and Spencer on the planning and on the day, Spencer was there the whole time. They were nothing short of spectacular. Spencer was 110% on top of everything and was absolutely critical to the success of our event! The food was exceptional and the bar/ wait staff/servers were a well-oiled machine. The venue itself is a little rustic and rugged looking, but hey - that's why we went with it - it reminded me of my husband and I'd like to think he would've approved. My sincerest thanks to everyone at Roots! It was an awful thing to have to plan and execute, but they were absolutely wonderful in every way.

We just attended the "Dining in the dark, Taste of India" experience in Broomfield (2nd event at…read more8:30pm on 2/8). It was absolutely terrible! The event started an hour late, the food was basic and served in very small portions. The appetizer was supposed to be Samosas but very closely resembled a beef empanadas. Whatever they were, they were good. But, along the lines of Indian culture, aren't cows considered to be sacred animals? I'm almost certain that beef isn't part of traditional Indian diets. Maybe next time, serve lamb, chicken curry, etc.? All of the courses were small, cheap, and plain. To add insult to injury, we ordered a vodka soda (Tito's), and a domestic draft beer for which we paid $16. Other friends got a baseline Pinot Noir for $15/glass. The venue only offered one option per type of wine, and they charged $8 for domestic draft beer. These drink prices rivaled what is often charged at big sporting events in Denver?! They were overpriced and the service was subpar. This event was far from meeting expectations for the price. The atmosphere was beyond sad. It was set up in an open, sterile room, riddled with random vines and cheesy string lights. We expected an immersive experience rich with culture and good food. Instead, we listened to loud, obnoxious rap music at such high volume that it drowned out any opportunity for meaningful, interesting conversation. This event was put on by novice event planners, not professionals! Where is the culture?! Indian music, perhaps???? And, they don't tell you but on top of tipping for expensive drinks, and paying for the overpriced food, there is a mandatory $10/pp gratuity. Ridiculous! Skip this event! Go to a nice restaurant, spend the same amount of money, and treat yourself to a delicious meal. This event was nearly $250 for two people tonight and was awful!!!! It could've been the venue/catering company (Roots in Broomfield, CO), who knows?! It's a great concept but very poorly executed event! The venue, signage, and staff were equally disappointing. The kicker was the dumb bartender who was so baked that she gave us the vodka soda without vodka and tried to charge us the full price. All around, the event planning company, Fever, and it's partner/venue were an absolute mess! We will never attend another one of these events again!

She was always in communication with us, just letting us know next steps and expectations. She even came out to our wedding walkthrough to make sure her and the venue were aligned. It made planning SO much easier to have them so connected. The food was also beyond amazing! Many guests afterwards told me how much they loved the food and some even asked for the vendor so they could use them in the future. I surprised my lady friend by leaving the sports bar we were at (and not finishing the football games we were watching... painful, but it was worth it) and walking one block over to Posh for a night of drinking and painting. She LOVED it, and we both had a blast drinking wine and attempting to paint the Telluride Valley. We got there a bit early and were the first ones in, we picked our seats and then the owner, Chelsey, got us our paint and offered us a drink. The beer and wine by the glass is only $3.25 which is great, or you can buy a bottle of wine for $13, we opted for the bottle. People started trickling in and the actual instruction started a little bit later than the posted time. Chelsey is great, she makes it easy to follow along, she plays music and dances around her studio while she's waiting for the students to catch up to her and she will help you achieve your vision of how your painting should look. The way it works is she goes step by step, explains how to do each step as simply as possible and then gives you time to complete that step. The outcome is that everyone is having a great time, each person has a similar but very unique painting and at the end of all of it you have an awesome, out of the ordinary night out on the town and a nice canvass painting to bring home. We've been to other studios to paint following an instructor, and it was always a lot of fun. This place has a great selection of paintings you can choose from, and then you just copy the one you select, or just do your own. The lady who was in charge of the place that day was friendly, but both my daughter and I very quickly understood that it was better not to change the water where you clean your brushes, or ask for another paper plate (that you use as a palette.) When my daughter asked where she could change her muddy water, she was told that she really did not need to, as the paint should get to the bottom of the pot and the brush would get clean if it stays on the surface. We looked at each other, quite surprised. After a while, I really needed to get some clean water and was told that the lady would do it for me as there is no available sink for the clients. Looking at the paint stains in the bathroom, I doubt this advice is followed by most, but I understand that they want to protect their plumbing and the environment. So after that, since we did not want to bother her, we just painted with brown water (and my daughter never changed hers.) I wonder what happens when an entire class (about 20 people) is asking at some point for fresh water.... I never had that issue at other places, and this was a big surprise and disappointment (that and the fact that you are uncomfortable asking for another paper plate.) I get that they don't want to waste, but you have to keep it reasonable. In the end, we've decided that when we want to paint again, we'll go back to Whimsy in Westminster, where they have a sink in the studio for the clients to use freely, where they give you whatever you need to paint comfortably, and where parking if free and easy. If you want to stay in Boulder though, it's always fun to do one of these session. Drink an extra glass of wine and you won't even bother about rinsing your brushes. Now that's a thought, maybe I should try that next time!

Personality - An extremely kind and friendly professional, Jennie will literally climb a mountain or tree to get the best angle for a picture of you. She is a dedicated person who is an absolute delight to interact with. Responsive and thorough, she is an ideal vendor. Pricing - Jennie has levels of pricing that can accommodate anyone. We had originally booked her longest package for 10 hours of shots and an assistant. The wedding was thrown off by COVID-19 and she was extremely flexible and thoughtful in letting us switch to a new 3 hour schedule. She charged us no fee and sent us a new contract right away. Her flexibility saved us tons of stress during a very difficult time. We wanted her there no matter what! Quality - During the ceremony, I (the bride) broke out into serious hives that were clearly visible from my neck and down my arms. I was devastated that all the photos would clearly show my stress from the day. Not on Jennie's watch! She spent WEEKS meticulously taking off every hive from those photos and making me seem flawless that day. I couldn't believe it and cried with relief when we got the photos. All the photos were so flattering and had gorgeous lighting. Her photo cues and set ups are fantastic. She truly celebrates all kinds of love and is an open and loving individual. I wish I could thank her more for the beautiful memories she gave us. For both our engagement and wedding photos, Jennie did a great job making us feel comfortable. She gave us wonderful prompts to help us interact while she was photographing so the photos felt natural, fun, and so meaningful. At the wedding, not only was she IMMENSELY helpful when we were making last-minute decisions about the rain, but also very kind, supportive, and calm throughout the night.
